Just Us Girls Challenge #764 - Stencil Week

This week is always fun over at JUGS.  We usually get a lot of participation, and of course awesome eye candy to look at too!

Today I went with an art deco feel.  It started with the stencil, and ended with the sentiment.  It is close to a geometrical feel - both are high on my lists of likes.

I used some Dolphin Gray card stock and inked on Hero Arts Soft Granite with a blending brush.  I die cut out Solar Yellow, Gumdrop Green , and Bonsai Green card stock, using a leaf die from my stash.  Once die cut, I shaded on some ink for depth.

My sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Inspiration.  Love the font on this one.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #764 and play along!  It's Anything Goes using a stencil - easy peasy.

ps; As of this writing, CutCardStock has an amazing sale going on with the card stock!  Check it out.  No affiliate, just FYI.

Seize the Birthday Challenge #285 - Double Stenciling

With this challenge, the option is layering 2 stencils - stencil, leave on, lay a 2nd stencil over the top, and stencil again.  Layering stenciling = double stenciling.

I also used a different stencil for the background tag.  I probably have used this sketch before, but I just love it when there is a "gift" on the card.

I used an older PTI Tag die, along with a couple of Walmart stencils for the top tag, and a generic stencil for the background tag.  My sentiment is from [retired] Poppy Stamps, Art Deco Birthday Greetings.

Your turn!  While double stenciling is an option, being a birthday card is not.  You can upload your card over at Seize the Birthday Challenge.

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Add a Sky

It's my choice for this 2 week challenge.  I can't wait to see the gallery!

I went literal, inked some clouds and added the oval panel to a mini card.  Literal. lol

I keep having friends ask me if I have any "kids" cards - no, no I don't.  With this fun uni, now I can say yep, yep I do. :)  I struggle to make "cutsie" cards, but I had fun with this image from Simon Says Magical Birthday Stamp set.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Birthday Greetings [retired].

I am also addicted to mini slimline cards, and this textured background from Katscrappiness; Mini Slimline Quilted Background.  I love this texture plate!

Okay, that's it for me.  Pop on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While adding a sky is an option, being a birthday card is not.  See you there~

The Male Room Challenge #176 - Travel

Tis the season for traveling!

In fact, a friend of mine is heading out for a 6 week travel trip.  This card will work perfectly!

I used the [retired] Tim Holtz The Journey stamp set to make this fun card with some designer papers from my stash.

That perfect sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Inspiration stamp set.

Your turn!  Come on over to The Male Room Challenge #176 and play along!

Just Us Girls Challenge #686 - Color Week

Well, I'll be honest, I am questioning my card.  While I was water coloring it, I specifically watered down the colors [to make them pastel] - but when I edited the photos, they came out really bright.  I am still going with them.  You will have to trust me, IRL this card is not bright!

I used the lovely Simon Says Sunflower Background stamp.  I inked the stamp with a sand ink, stamped and then loosely water colored the image.  [I do love lose water coloring.]

Alrighty then - your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #686 and play along.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #239 - One Layer Card

I came across a video from Gina K - Faux Embossing.  This works perfectly for a one layer card!

It really does look embossed!  Fun technique for sure.  I used Gina K Wild Blossoms.

My sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Birthday Greetings. [This set is at a REALLY DECENT price! - I think it's closing out]

Your turn!  Making a one layer is easy, but it can be hard too!  My hint, don't over think it :) - Upload your card over at Addicted to CAS Challenge.

Lots of Fun Challenges!

I got a few challenges in my email that really interested me.  That said, I joined in :)

I started with the fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #581. Here is my card;

Here is the sketch.  I adore this one!

I used a leaf die - [by whom?  I have no idea. 😕 ].  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Birthday Greetings.

I am also entering this fun card into CAS on Sunday #255 - Spring, Inkspirational #287 - CAS card, and lastly, Less is More #481 - Anything Goes.

Overall, I'm liking my card!  Thanks challenges 😀

Returning to a Past

Yesterday, I was looking for a reason to create.  My list of challenges isn't all that long, and I have a lifetime supply of stashed cards, but stamping really is my lifeline and I need to continue to do it! That said, I popped over to Splitcoast Stampers.  They run weekly daily challenges.  There I go!  I can join back in those challenges!

I am starting with the Featured Stamper Challenge.  It was always one of my favorites.  I used Kate's card HERE.  I am always drawn to dots and pretty flowers.

I used the Heartfelt Creations Rustic Sunflower stamps and dies for the Copic colored flower, and an unbranded leaf die cut for the leaves.

My sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Inspiration. (It was still on my desk from my last post).

=======================================

I was so inspired, I went ahead and joined in on the Sketch 940 Challenge too.  It was a basic sketch, and yeah, it worked out well for me!

I used the colors from Color Throwdown #725; red, green, brown to complete the sketch.

I water colored the image from Altenew's Blossom & Bloom stamp set.  The sentiment is from Memory Box Signature Greetings.

I think I will try and play along in a few of the SCS daily challenges.  They have great challenges, and a few I am really interested in.

Freshly Made Sketches #668 and Inkspirational Challenges #281

I think I will be joining in a few more sketch challenges for 2023.  Freshly Made Sketches #568 is a great one to start this year with.

I watched a video this am about using up your scrap designer paper, so I started there by picking some I thought would look together.

I made a panel, using the sketch, and adhered that onto the card base.

To qualify for the Inkspirational Challenge #281; New /or Welcome, I used the Poppy Stamps Art Deco Inspiration stamp set for the sentiment.  While I have had this for awhile, I haven't use it! [Yeah, it got buried and I just re-found it!]  I love the font of this set, and really, I feel it worked perfectly with this layout!  I'm quite thrilled with this one 😀

Thanks Challenges!  I had a blast~

Just Us Girls Challenge #655 - Photo Inspiration

I do adore the neutrals of this photo!  The team rocked being inspired too.

I used a die from Tim Holtz Sizzix Holiday Greens.   [I do love this set of dies.  I have used it a lot these past few months!]  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Art Deco Birthday Greetings.

These colors do make for a wonderful masculine card.

Your turn!  How does the photo inspire you?  Come on over to JUGS #655 and play along!

Some more Fun!

Once again, I am joining in a few challenges.

Let's start with Color Hues #40 - Blue & Tan.  I think I might have "pushed" a little [with more colors], but I do like still being inspired by challenges, and the 2 for this challenge is right up my alley!

I really do love the colors together!  I used the fun Coffee 4 Two stamp set [and die] from the Stamps of Life.  This big ole cup is pretty awesome :).

The flowers are from Heartfelt Creations Delightful Daisies [and dies] with the sentiment from [OOB] Verve set.  [I am still sad this company shut down, however, I did notice that Julee is designing for Sweet and Sassy, so that is a good thing.]

-------------------------------------------------------

I went to join in at the AAA Card Challenge #214; Mood Board.  I do love being inspired by a good mood board!

I also adore BIG OLE BALLOON cards, courtesy from MFT Big Balloon Stencil.  (I was inspired by the blue balloon on the board)

It did work rather perfectly on a mini slimline! I did use the Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge Die from Kat Scrapiness My sentiment is from Poppy Stamps; Art Deco Birthday Greetings.

Thanks Challenges~  As usual I had fun!

A Couple More Challenges

I'm finding I have more time on my hands and that said, I have more time for "fun playing" in challenges!

I liked the pretty colors on the MFT Color Challenge #187.

I used the [retired] Desert Bouquet [and matching dies] for the corner cluster,

--------------------------------------

I went on to join in Perfectly CAS #26 - Using 1/3 or less, Gold.

I used the fun CAS-ual Fridays Pop Fizz Clink stamp set with matching dies, along with some gold foil, and sequins.

I used a different sentiment from the same Poppy Stamp set using gold embossing powder.  Hopefully this is 1/3 third or less...

Thanks Challenges - I had fun~
