Just Us Girls Challenge #724 - Anything Goes Stencil

I sure enjoy this challenge.  There are so many ways to use a stencil!  For this challenge, I used an ARTploration stencil, Art Flowers 2, with a ghost print. [Using water color paper, sponge on ink, spritz stencil with water and lay down over inked panel, daub off excess water with a paper towel, and lift off stencil]  I love the effect!

I used some unbranded dies for the foliage, and a stashed hb strip.

A basic card, but it works.

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #724 and show us how you use your stencil!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Faces

This is going to be a great challenge!  So many options.

I used a stencil from ARTplorations.  I do adore this image - so classy!  I added a few stenciled graphic images for added interest..

My sentiment is computer generated.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While faces is an option, being a birthday card is not.  Hope you join in~

Seize the Birthday - Cake

Sometimes I just chuckle.  ALL the stamps I have, and only 1 cake image?! - which, I don't like.  That said, I came up with a card that totally works, and I am happy with it.

I just love this STAMPlorations Cup"cake" digi. [See how I did that? 😀]  I love to make it giant so it fills up the entire card.  Also that this card works for anyone - kids, male, female!  Win-win there.

I used the ARTplorations Leaf Print stencil for my background, and then outlined it [within the stencil] with a ultra fine sharpie.  I offset it a little for some added interest.  I am loving this card to be honest.

Your turn.  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  The "cake" is an option, being a birthday card is not.Hope to see you there.

Happy Little Stampers September Stencil Challenge

It's time again for the monthly stencil challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.  It's always anything goes so that makes it really easy!

I started with a stencil from ARTplorations; Weaving Stencil and inked in rainbow colors.

While I am not sure who made the layered flowers [maybe Altenew?] or the sentiment [gee, do I need to keep the packaging or what!] I like my end result.

Your turn.  Remember, you have all month to join in, and it's anything goes.  So easy - just load up your card over at HLS Stencil Challenge.

Just Us Girls Challenge #591 - Word Week

The gallery should be pretty this week.

While my word is in script, it is definitely subtle for the word.  That said, I am okay with it as I am happy with my card. [Yes, pun intended 😀]

I also apparently really like this particular embossing folder also since I used it like last week on another birthday card.  I guess there really is nothing wrong with getting multiple uses out of our products though.

The Happy is from ARTplorations, [I do love the script font of this die] and the birthday is from my hand held label maker.  [It has been ages since I have used this tool!]  Throw on a couple of triangles, add some texture, and this card is done.

Your turn.  How do you see using script?  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #591 and show us what you created!

STAMPlorations Inspirations #323

It's STAMPlorations Inspiration time here on my blog today.  Stencils seem to be very popular right now in internetland, so I figured I'll get on board too.  It's easy with the selections that ARTplorations offers.

I started with the Tapestry Stencil and blended ink with a few of the Distress Oxide Inks.  [I'm telling you], oxide inks are so perfect for a smooth blend!

I went on to create a border using the Art Border Die #3, and the sentiment is from Noteworthy 2.

That's it for my card today.  You can pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what my teamies created.  Don't forget to leave a comment for the monthly prize.  If you want, you can also use my code to save 20% off  your purchase; STAMPGIRLVICKID.  [I do get a small stipend, so thank you]

Just Us Girls Challenge #579 - Trend Week

While there are some amazing dual step stencils out here in blogland, sadly, I don't have any.  That said, I think I accomplished this challenge in a fabulous way, just by using 2 stencils.

I used the ARTploration stencil, Flowers 2 for the background inking, and the awesome Flutterby Stencil.

My sentiment is from Simon Says Pre-printed.

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #579 and show us how you use more then 1 stencil~

Coffee Lovers Hop - Day 7

Onto Day 7 of the Coffee Lovers Hop.  Have you played yet?  I just have a ton of fun when this hop comes around.

Years ago, Shery [from STAMPlorations] was making digital paper.  I downloaded a bunch, and forgot I had them!  Today fixes that!  It is a mixed media look, which I feel goes pretty good with the other digital cup image that she currently sells, Coffee Bloom Print - [it's only $1.80 with my discount!]

I also used the Hugs word die for some added fun.

Another day down!  I'll be back tomorrow~

Happy Little Stampers March Stencil Challenge

I like the anything goes theme with this challenge.  Stencils are such a tread right now, this challenge is just perfect.

I used a couple of stencils from ARTplorations; Bubbles, and Rose Duet.  I like the monotone use of blues on this.  The added plus, its so much easier to ink a stencil with 1 color!  [Yeah, I am a lazy stamper - if its to much work, I lose interest lol]

I went to set up my birthday cards for March, and realized I had sold all but 2!  Needless to say you will see lots of bday cards being made here on my blog -- my stash needs to be built back up!

Okay, its your turn.  Upload your stenciled card over at Happy Little Stampers March Stencil Challenge.  You have all month to play along!

I used the Big Friend Shadow Wafer Die, and a sentiment from Hero Arts CL487.

Just Us Girls Challenge #566 - Trend Week

This is a popular trend right now in blogland, and all the stores for that matter.  So many possibilities when using these tools.

For my card, I started by inking a stencil [ARTplorations Foiled Again Mini] on a sheet of colored card stock.  Using my lazer printer, I printed off a downloaded image from Pinterest.  I then ran it through my Link laminating machine using gold foil.

It's very shiny and pretty in real life. ;)  I used a pre-printed sentiment from Simon Says.  It was fun using my Link!  Gosh it has been a very long time.  I didn't even have to dust it, as I keep it in a drawer.  😀

That's my card for this challenge.  Are you joining in? Come on over to the JUGS Challenge and play along!

Just Us Girls Challenge #557 - Trend Week

I love doing ombre coloring, so I love this challenge! I got out my Oxide inks; Worn Lipstick, Ripe Persimmon, and Candied Apple, a panel of 80# Nina White card stock, and started blending.  One thing I have noticed about blending, is it does take a light hand, and lots of layers to get a smooth blend.  Now, that said, Oxide inks are amazing for blending, which does make the process easier.

I so loved these calming colors together, I decided to make this a sympathy card.  While, fortunately, I don't need this card currently, at some point, sadly, I know I will.

I used Simon Says Clean Line Everyday stamp set, along with the ARTplorations Cloud Stencil, for the lightly sponged clouds.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Blog and show us how you use ombre on your card.

Happy 75th Birthday Nancy!

Loll Thompson over at Stamping with Loll, is running a birthday card link up for fellow stamper, Nancy Littrell's 75th birthday! While I have never met Nancy (in person), I have known her work for years.  I first "met" her over at Splitcoast Stampers many years ago.  Currently, she also designs for STAMPlorations, so we are teammates there too.  I am happy to share in Nancy's major milestone birthday [even though I am late as usual!]

At first, I thought about putting the age number on her card, but then I changed my mind, and went with an "easier to mail" card.  I did some direct to paper with my ink pads, and then colored some embossing paste and using the ARTplorations Happy Flowers Stencil, I scraped the paste onto the card panel.

I added some white paint, some Ultra Fine Sharpie lines for more definition on the flowers, and lastly, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Clean Lines Everyday.  I like this card, I hope she does too.

Happy late birthday Nancy!  I hope it was excellent!
