A New Instagram Hop!

This hop is all about ATC's [Artist Trading Cards].  I totally adore creating these mini works of art - this hop group is a win for me.  I love knowing I need to create at least 1 per month!

There is no theme for this hop but the criteria is the size [2.5x3.5] and use up some scraps.  So easy to do as I have a ton of scraps ;).  

For this set of ATCs, I started by making a master sheet, and used Vicki P's technique of Peeled Paint Look. You start with painting the sheet with acrylic paint, and letting it dry.  Once dry, you add a little vaseline, and then paint another lighter acrylic paint over that.  Once that is dry, you use a baby wipe and where you had vaseline, the paint will wipe off.  I forgot a to take a photo, but the end result is very cool.  I added some washi tape, and some stamping, a focal image and sentiment.  The final step was black splatter.

Elizabeth Crafts Designs

It's ECD day again here on my blog and also FB and Instagram.  I was in the mood to create some more ATCs.  These tiny cards are fun to make, and, many products get used!

Nice and bright right?  [The yellow might be a little over the top - but it's Summer, so I'm going with it.]

I started with a 3.5 x 8.5 cut card stock, and blended on some colors for a background.  Then, begins the creating.

I used the following ECD Everyday Elements products:  Circles, Banners & Ribbon Dies, Birds and Dwellings, Playful Textures Stamp Set, and All Occasion Sentiments.  I also used Journal Stencils 3 [with some embossing paste.]. 

Typically, I have no idea what I am going to do with these, but I am happy with them!

ATC August Challenges

Well this month started off fabulous.  I found another ATC Challenge - yes please.  So I am joining in the ATC Around the World #104- Fantasy, (WON Top 3) and the other one I found? Gecko Galz August ATC. Now, part of the GG ATC challenge is to use their FREE digi downloads.  Well okay then - I can do that.

Here are the ATC's I came up with;

I started with the printable background, and added some stamps to it.  I fussy cut the images out and adhered them to the base, ran it through with an embossing folder, and finally added a strip sentiment.

Out of the 2, this is my favorite.  I do love sewing on cards [well ATCs too] even if they are faux.  I followed the same steps creating this one, only the sentiment on this one is part of the free digis.  What is perfect about these digis is they are rather a fantasy - which, qualifies for ATC Around the World challenge- yay.

A Few Challenges

I am so excited!  I found a different ATC challenge!  My old one went de-funked -  not enough players.  Anyway, this new one ATC Around the World #102, is in/by the sea.  Well I'm all in for that theme! {Winner Top 3!}

I used my crimper for a textured background, and a really old Spellbinders die with 4 different shells, and then another die set with sea creatures.  I have used both these dies a lot over the years.  I just adore the textured images.

The sentiments are from Inspired By Stamping, an OOB company.  I am also entering these into the Simon Says Monday Challenge - Not a Card.

Aren't these just fun!  I am quite happy with the end results.

I was inspired by the lower left corner photo - the colors.  

The other day I was going through some stamps and came across this fabulous HB from PTI.  [I really do need to get my inventory system completed.  It's just so o...v...e..r...w..h..e..l..m..i...n...g.]  Yep, this card scream masculine to me!

SCS Mix521 and FS833 plus 1

OKAY! I did it!  I played in every daily challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers!  Today finishes off the week, and starts another one.

I finished off the week by joining in at MIX51- Hearts.  This is a new challenge for me. I do like doing mixed media - I just don't do it very often.  But yesterday - yep!

[I am hoping ATC's qualify for this challenge].  I started with a 3.5 x 2.5 card panel, embossed with a heart embossing folder, and sponged over the top for added color.  I used a couple of unbranded dies for layering, cut out a sentiment strip (computer generated), and I stamped some faux stitching.

For the last step, I covered the bigger hearts with Diamond Glaze for a glossy effect.  I'm also entering this into another new challenge for me [in blogland], ATC Around the World #97; Anything Goes.  This is a German monthly challenge that I hope to join in every month.  I love making ATC's!

Now, to start the week off, I joined in the Featured Stamper 833; MelissaS. I CASED this card.

I liked the mixed media feel of her card, so I kept that theme.  I used a different embossing folder and stamp images, but basically kept the same layout.

My sentiment is a discontinued STAMPlorations stamp.  Makes for an encouraging card.

I had a lot of fun this past week creating a card on a daily basis. It was validating to see that my card HERE had a dual Favorite!  So fun.

The Male Room Challenge #165 - ATC

Oh yes!  I love me some ATCs!

I just made 1 today.  While I do love ATC's, I never know what to do with them! I have used them as bookmarks, and baggage tags, but besides that....what?  What do you do with your ATC's?

(To better see this, I only did a large blow up of the photo.  Extra large was totally in-your-face close.)  I started by adding texture for the base with an embossing folder.  I dug through my water color panels, found this rainbow, and ripped it to size. Stamped a few sentiments for added interest, and went on to cut the [unbranded] die out, the feather, and trimmed the sentiment, and adhered all to the ATC base.

Yep, I do love the rainbow backing with the stark black.  Screams masculine to me!

Fun Challenges

My favorite challenge came to my email, and naturally, I had to join in!  A Tiny Craft (ATC) #11 - Dogs & Cats.  I also started with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #544.

While creating this ATC, I also added in 2 elements from Just Add Ink #612; Fur, Clouds,Stitching.  I chose clouds [very subtle on the base background], along with stitching.  I really enjoy sewing on my projects and it works perfectly on ATCs.

Everything I used on this project is unbranded [or in other words, unknown] - but, they came together in a fun way, and I am happy with the end result!

After I got done with the above, I went on to join in the July CAS Christmas Challenge; Santa.  As fast as this year is going, I don't want to get caught panicking for lack of cards come Christmas.  Plus, Christmas in July has been around for lots of years.  Both are good reasons for playing!

Even though this guy [Simon Says Gnome Die] doesn't have the "normal" Santa look, I use him as a gnome Santa every year - that said, I hope he qualifies.  

My sentiment is from the Gina K Designs Holiday Sentiments and matching dies.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #362

It's Tuesday, and that means another fun day using STAMPlorations products.  Today, I am also entering this set of ATC's to [my favorite] challenge - A Tiny Craft (ATC) #7; masculine.  When I saw the topic, I knew I wanted to make a set of ATC's for my husband's son and wife.  They are planning a 4 month motorcycle trip across the country.  East coast all the way up to Purdue, Alaska!  18,000+ mile road trip.  To say I am impressed is an understatement!  They each have their own bikes and helmets with communication built in to "talk" to one another.  I can't even imagine this adventure they are going to enjoy!

That said, I had to use the Born To Roam stamp set.  It has the most perfect sentiments and images for this small gift I'm giving them. 

I started by grabbing some stashed inked panels and cut them to the 3.5 x 2.5 ATC size. I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiments on black card stock, and embossed with white embossing powder.  This is just a challenge for me!  [No matter how much pouncing I do with my embossing bag, I still get tiny white everywhere! Just sayin...]  As you can tell, I kept these ATC's very simple.  I know dil will be journaling the trip, so I hope she can use these as a bookmark maybe?  Who knows.  I just do know that these are the perfect ATC's for them!

Playing With My Stash

I literally just got done making a set of ATC's [coming the end of this month], and as I was looking at my scraps it dawned on me, I could make just a single ATC!  They don't always have to be in sets!

The strips of inked panels you see are the remnants of my original project.  I adore that they fit diagonally on this single ATC!  

The leaf and the sentiment are also from my stash.  I love it when a project comes together with literally just glue! I am entering this into the A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge #7; masculine.

My Favorite Challenge

I'm joining in my favorite challenge today, A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge #5.  This month; Happy Holidays.

I needed a few gift tags, and ATC's are the perfect size.

I just love this Gnome Wafer Die!  He is so fun to "dress".  Today, he matches the ATC background.  

These will go perfectly with my red wrapping paper!

Couple of Challenges

I took some time to play in a couple of challenges; A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge #4 - We Remember; Poppies and Peace On Earth Christmas #4 - a gorgeous mood board.

Let's start with A Tiny Craft;

I had a great time coloring in this image!  I have had this set from Technique Tuesday Budding Poppies for, well, I have no idea!  I never use it, but I really like it!  The plus, it worked perfectly on my ATC.

I also [first time] used a sentiment from Technique Tuesday My Hero. [No longer available]  Appropriate for this challenge [we remember] also.

Here is my Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge card.

 

Once again, I have had this die for years, and once again, the company is out of business.  That doesn't stop me from using it though [like every Christmas!].  I used a Simon Says Reverse Sentiment and some pretty gems from Kat Scrappiness.

I love being inspired by mood boards!
