CAS-ual Fridays - Crafting of Hue

CAS-ual Fridays is a sponsor for the FB Group, Crafting of Hue. This time, the CFS team is creating coffee cards. Yeah, I am so in with that!

While most of the stampers "color" their images [on the FB Group], I went with water coloring.  I started by water coloring a background panel, once dry, I added some geometric doodling.  I used the To Go Cup Fri-Die [I think my favorite of all time BTW] with some fun designer paper, and added a sentiment from the Cup Refills stamp set.

For added fun, I adhered a couple of [glossy accented] Music Elements Chipboard.

I had fun.  Just to let you know, ALL coffee products are 20% off for this week end.  If you use my code [below], you can save an additional 15% off!  Hey, that's a win for you!

Just Us Girls Challenge #554 - Color Week

I really like the way Yana Smakula colors her backgrounds so I thought I would try it too.  While it does use a lot of ink, I do like the end result.

I used my favorite Altenew set, Hennah Elements [with matching dies].  By looking at this, I probably should of added a gem or something to the center of the flowers -- oh well, next time :).

I also used Altenew's Super Script for the Hello Friend, along with the matching dies.  I just love this font.  I also love that both of these products are still available!

Okay, your turn!  Show us how you use the colors over at the Just Us Girls Challenge.

CAS-ual Fridays Day

This month I will only have 1 CFS Day.  However, there will be a fabulous release at the end of the month!  So, you can look forward to that :).

Meanwhile, I actually "saw" my idea for today's card!  [By that I mean in my mind - that doesn't happen often, and when it does I am thrilled. Usually, I need to physically see to be inspired].

I am starting with my Christmas cards.  We all know how fast time flies, and I don't want the "pressure" to get my cards completed.  I bet you can relate, right?

I really am happy with this card!  I started out by stamping the snowflakes from Bring on the Snowflakes with versamark ink, and using the [now in the store!] WOW Metallic Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder, I heat embossed the images on a card panel.  Then using a shade darker ink, I stamped the snowflakes from Merry.  I then cut out the framing, and turned it into a shaker card!

See the tiny snowflakes within the shaker stuff? Those are the Jacks Chipboards that I embossed with the Opaque Bright White Superfine  Embossing Powder.  A fun addition to the sequins I also added.  Once all that was put together, I die cut the Merry Christmas Fri-Die 3 times - once in black for shading, and embossed with the WOW Metallic Super Fine Silver Embossing Powder.  I also used one of the larger Jacks, and also embossed that with the same powder.  I am also entering this into the new Color Hues Challenge #2; Navy & Turquoise.  Hopefully the silver is considered neutral. ;)

While I won't be mass producing this card, it will go to a special person :).  How about you?  Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

Don't forget, if you use my code below, you can save 15% off your CFS purchase!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #285

It's time for the STAMPloration Inspiration day.  I  was so happy to see that one of my favorite stamps sets was back in stock!  Small Birds.  I just love this fun set!

I used the background stencil Wavy Dots Slimline Stencil in a different way.  I made a small rectangle template, taped it over the stencil, and then sponged on color onto the card panel.  I love the way this turned out, and now, I have another way to extend the use of a stencil.  That's a good thing.

I totally love this bird - he makes me smile every time I color him :).  My sentiment is from the Brave One stamp set.

For more inspiration, pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog and check out what my teamies made.  Meanwhile, leave a comment for the monthly $15 gift code prize.  Remember, if you use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID, you can save 20% off your purchase.

The Project Bin Day

It's my day for The Project Bin card. Today I used a new set, Mid Century Christmas, with matching dies.

I started with a self made template and sponged on some light ink.  I stamped the images and cut them out with the matching die, and lastly, I stamped the sentiment.

Just a fun Christmas card.  Have you started your's yet?

See you tomorrow~

Just Us Girls Challenge #553 - Trend Week

This should be an interesting gallery.  I like seeing 3rds on cards.

For my card, I picked out one of my inked panels, and cut that into thirds.  I do like the way it worked.

I also used the Hello die from Dare 2B Artsy.  I love how this has the matching background panel too.

My sentiment is from the retired Simon Says Banner Saying.

Your turn!  Come on over and show us how you cut into thirds.  You can upload your card at the
Just Us Girls Challenge.

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Die Only

When I saw this challenge, I went digging into my "unused" dies, and came out with this unusual one I won in a goodie box a few years ago.

It's called Decorative Hamsa.  To be honest, I was surprised it was still available.  I sure haven't seen it used online. I cut out the image out of an inked panel I had in my stash.  Kind of a cool die.

I went total dies and used a couple of HB dies, also in my stash.

Your turn.  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.
