CASEing Lisa Lara

Today is a different project.  My stamper friend, Lisa Lara from Lisa's Life Lines, was so nice to send me an adorable card, along with a few stamped images, and the list of supplies she used to make them.

I decided to CASE Lisa's card.  I mean I had the images, might as well put them to use!  Here is her card:

Isn't this pig the cutest?!  I just love him :).

Here is my CASE.  Actually, I guess it is more of how I used the pig since that is the only similarity between our 2 cards!

However, I did kind of follow her coloring with the "shading", and the white dots on the eyes.

I think this card is fun.  The sentiment she sent me was pretty good too - kind of appropriate lol.  These images came from Honey Bee Stamps; Bad Influence. The set also has matching dies.

I hope you enjoyed my faux CASE! Thanks again Lisa for the adorable card, and the super fun images!  I had so much fun creating my card.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #291

It's time for the STAMPlorations Inspiration.  Today I made a Belly Band Ornament Card via Jennifer McGuire's video.  While mine is plain, I still am happy with it.

Here is the card standing up.  I used [one of my favorites] Reindeer Dies for the "ornament" part.  While I really wanted to use a gold glitter paper, sadly I DON'T HAVE ANY, so I used a silver sheen paper [which you can't tell in the photo - sigh]  For the topping of the "gates", I used the Doodled Christmas Candles Cover Plate Die.

Like I said, mine is plain, but I think it looks rather elegant with the white on white.

For the inside, I used the Merry & Bright Phrase Die in gold mirror paper.  This is layered this with  3 layers of white card stock for dimension.

That's it for me today.  You can pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see more fun projects from the Team.  Remember to leave a comment for the monthly prize, and if you use my code, STAMPGIRLVICKID, you can save 20% off your purchase!

The Project Bin

It's The Project Bin Day here on the ole blog.  Today I am using the Defined stamp set.

I started by water coloring a background panel, and then layering the sentiments as a focal image.

I just love this sentiment.  It is so true! 😀

That's it for me today.  Hope you are having fun creating~

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #512

I don't think I have ever joined in MFT's Sketch challenge.  [Once again, I am trying to get some challenges under my belt :).]

Here is the sketch;

I pretty much went literal with this sketch.  I used a retired stamp set from MFT; Party Patterns.  It was rather perfect for this sketch.

I do love the artsy look of the off-center stamping.  Again, with this set, that was easy to attain.

Bright colors to go with a happy day :).  Yep, works for me.

We'll see what happens.  It has been forever since I was "lucky" in a random drawn challenge.  I did have fun creating this card though.  That is 75% of a challenge.

CAS-ual Fridays Day

For today, I made a fun project rather than a card.  While I don't celebrate Halloween, this will still make a fun candy holder for my son.

I dug out a box die - [remember, I am trying to use my unused dies], and cut out with just white card stock.  I used the super fun Critter Fri-Dies and cut out the dog, again in white card stock, and then sponged on a couple shades of brown ink, some red ink, and black sharpie.  [Just FYI, this set is being discontinued.  At the time of the creation of this post, there is only 1 available.]

The sentiment is from Terrific Flowers stamp set
This project is pretty cute in real life, and I hope my son will like it too.

That's it for me this month with CFS.  I'll be back next month.

Just Us Girls Challenge #559 - Photo Inspiration Week

It's time for another fun challenge from JUGS.  I think Photo Inspiration week is my favorite.  I love being inspired. 😀

I was inspired by the colors, and the burlap pillow.  While I was going to use actual burlap, I decided to go with a wood grain panel instead.

I used Altenew's Beautiful Day stamp set [with matching dies], and a strip sentiment from Simon Says Sentiments Strips, All Things Happy.  I have to say, I am rather happy with this card. :)

Your turn.  Come on over to the JUGS Blog and show us how you are inspired by the photo.

STAMPlorations Birthday Celebration - Day 5

It's Day 5, and the final day of the STAMPlorations [belated] Birthday Celebration.

For my final card, I used the Wavy Dots Slimline Stencil for the inked background, along with the Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Cover Plate Die.

I than cut out the Bloomtangled #1 Cover Plate, and adhered this over the background panel.  Once adhered, I added a black card stock shape from Curling Labels/Tags Nesting Dies, and for the last step, I adhered a 4 layered sentiment using Birthday Wishes Phrase Die.

I hope you enjoyed this week of birthday eye candy.  Pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to find information on how you win the potential prizes, and more info.  Don't forget to leave a comment, and use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID to save 20% off your order!

Seize the Bithday Challenge

For my card today, I used the inlay technique.  It gives texture, and looks good to boot!

I also popped up the center panel for even more texture.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While texture is optional, being a birthday card is not.
