CAS-ual Fridays Day

It's CAS-ual Fridays Day here on the ole blog [over on the CFS blog too]. Did you know that CAS-ual Fridays has been around for 9 years!  [That is so awesome in this industry 😀.]  I have had the pleasure of creating for CFS since March 2016!  5+ years.  I like that too.  In honor, today I made a birthday card.

I used the [so fun] Pop Clink Fizz stamp set for the background --[I really love these glasses], and used a sentiment from [my favorite] Shenanigans.  [Totally love the mixed font in this set]

To add a pop of color and some fun, I used the balloon die from Bunny Dies. I added some Glossy Accent to make the balloons shiny, and some black thread for the balloon strings.

I have a few birthdays this month, so this will be going to someone -- girl or guy, this card works!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #339

It's time again for my STAMPlorations Inspiration post.  Today I "ended up" with a shaker card.

I created with this card.  I used the Sketched Blooms Digi, and cut out the Hugs Word Die, but left it in the panel so I could partially color the images with Copics.  I backed the cut out with black, and then used some dimension tape to pop the word off centered.  Once done, I felt it needed something. So.....

I turned it into a shaker card!  The Golden Autumn Shaker Blends color worked perfectly!

Now it's finished! ;)

To see more inspiration, you can pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what the teamies have made.  Meanwhile, leave a comment for the monthly prize, and if you choose, you can use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID to save 20% off your purchase.

Found Another Challenge!

I found another challenge; Color Hues #28 - red and kraft.  I do adore these colors together!  They do make for amazing Christmas cards too.

I am using a new to me Katscrappiness Mini Slimline Diamond and Wood Grain Framed Die, with some stunning Memory Box Glitter Paper. I glued the frame onto a mini slimline kraft card base made from Tim Holtz Distress Kraft Heavy Stock.

The Merry Christmas with Shadow Die is new to me also -- I totally am loving the huge size of this die!  I used some GKD Layering Weight Card Stock for the mc "snow", and a 2 layered mc using red card stock from my stash.  After gluing [Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue] those layers together on top of a shadow of Strathmore Bristol Vellum Paper, I added three Red Sequins.  I have to say, while this card reminds me of a candy bar [lol] - I am rather thrilled with the end result!

Thanks Color Hue - I loved these colors!

More Challenges

I have all my October DT work created so that means I get to play in some challenges!  Since Christmas is only 10 Fridays away (!) I need to get my stash filled up for mailing!  Then again, there are still birthdays to acknowledge.  So I joined in a couple of challenges.

The first one is the Paper Players PP563; Clean and Simple Birthday.

I enjoy making easy cards, especially with a big ole balloon (MFT Party Balloons).  By keeping the balloon a darker color, it will work perfectly for a masculine card (which I use a lot) .

My hb is from a retired Hero Arts stamp set, Say It All.

For my 2nd challenge, I joined in again at Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #2 - again, a fabulous mood board.

I was drawn to the blue of the pine cones, the checked stockings and the joy on the fireplace shelf.

All the products used for this card are no longer available. Part of the reason I play in challenges is so I can use all my products - retired or not.  (Sucks for you all if you liked the images though. SBT)

That's it for today.  I might even join in a couple of more challenges later, but I'll share those tomorrow if I do.  Thanks challenges it was fun~

Just Us Girls Challenge #606 - Color Week

There should some really pretty cards in the gallery this week.  This color combo is lovely!

I have a folder of To Be Used cards that I have never published.  I found this PERFECT card for this challenge and decided to share it.  I used a digi from STAMPlorations [Coffee Bloom Digital], and tried a new technique; merging digis using GIMP.

I merged the designer paper background, the cup, and the sentiment!  So, apparently, I made my own card front!  Then, I colored the cup.  I was really happy with this card.

What do you think? ;)

Your turn.  Come on over to JUGS Challenge and play along!
How do you see using these lovely colors?

A Few Challenges

Well I'm bummed - I really wanted to play in all the A Tiny Craft Challenges, but I missed last challenge [#2].  After I spent a ridiculously amount of time making this 1 ATC, I realized it was the wrong number challenge. Good grief. That said, you get to see both of what I made, and I was able to still use it - in another challenge.  So yay.

I'll start with Challenge #3 [since that is the correct one] - Halloween

I [obviously] made a coin for this challenge.  I thought it was perfect with the fun google eyes.  I started with an inked panel I had made earlier this week, and using a few images from [my only Halloween stamp set] Memory Box Halloween Sideshow, and matching dies, I stamped and die cut for the coin.

I am also entering this into the Dies R Us Challenge #179 - anything goes as long as you use at least 1 die from Dies R Us - the spidey works ;)

Now, again, because I spent like 2 hours [really?!] I wanted to show you the challenge I missed, ATC challenge #2 - Autumn.

I love the colors on this ATC - but looking at it close, [and in real life], I really want to get some Distress Glaze.  To brighten this up would really upgrade it.  I don't have any, so I'm showing these anyway.

I used the Trendy Feathers from STAMPlorations - [sold out unfortunately], the HB is from Simon Says Happy 3x4.  Since I did use SS, I will enter this into their Wednesday Challenge - not a card.

Okay, I had fun.  I hope you have a crafty week end!
  Thanks challenges~

Here are a few links to make inked panels - I purchased 24 alcohol inks for $20!  My review - excellent!  [The price is totally amazing].  I also used this paper rather then the expensive Yupo paper.  Again, excellent!  2 purchases worth sharing to you. Not affiliated either - just awesome products if you enjoy making alcohol inked panels.  I did get my Deco Gold Foil from Simon Says.

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Stencil

Boy, stencils are all the rage right now.  Works for me as I have a ton of them!

There are many techniques you can use when using stencils.  That said, I went with the Ghosting Technique.

I started by ink blending my background, and then laid a diagonal striped stencil down over the top, and spritzed it with water.  I used a paper towel to absorb off the excess water, lifted the stencil, and then used the paper towel once again to get that excess water off.  You are left with a subtle image.  To add some dimension, I used an embossing folder and sanded off the top layer of ink.

I cut out some foliage [Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Thinlits], adhered those to my card, and added a sentiment from Pink Fresh Studios Perfect Sentiments.  That's it for me today.

Your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While the stencil is optional, being a birthday card is not.

A New Challenge

I came across a new challenge; Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #1.  They had a mood board that made me play along.  I had the perfect products!  Here is the mood board:

And here is my card:

I started with a "wood" tag [score, cover with ink].  I used Paper Sweeties Stitched Tags #2, and stamped the design with STAMPlorations Nordic Knit Tag.  I used the [super fun] Snow Marker. [Apply, heat up with a heat gun, and it becomes poofy! So fun.]

I cut out a couple of the ivy from Tim Holtz Sizzix Big Greens Thinlits for the greenery, and added a Simon Says Christmas Sentiment Strip. [I just love these strips].  That was a fun challenge!  I do enjoy mood boards -- so inspiring.

Thanks Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge - I had fun. 😀
