A Few Challenges

I saw a couple of new-to-me challenges and decided to join in. The first one is Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #423. [I was inspired by the colors from the inspiration board]. I also used the MFT Sketch Challenge #664. [I flipped it]  Edited: bummer I missed the Hand Stamped 😏

I used my new fun Simon Says Stamp Bountiful Sunflower Blossom Wafer Die.  I am in heaven with this fun one.

I used the Cheery Lynn Designs Whimsical You are Awesome Die.  [Couldn't find a link sorry]

This next card is based on a sketch I came across.  The challenge is over on Facebook, and on a Stampin Up page.  I'm not a member [of the page], but I'm still using the sketch. 😉

I loved the paint colors that I used on these stashed panels, so I cut the background and the tag out of them.

Many layers, and I love this card!  The sentiment is from PTI's [retired] Birthday Bash Sentiments.
That's it for me today -- I had fun.  Now on to real life.....

Just Us Girls Challenge #697 - Photo/Moodboard Week

I just love this week for the challenge.  I look forward to it every month.  This month? Fabulous!

When I saw the coffee photo I instantly thought of the STAMPlorations stamp set, And Coffee.  To get the coffee texture in the middle, I water colored the stamp and stamped.  Gave me the perfect effect.  The rest I colored with Copics.

Anytime I get to use my fun glasses, I am happy.  I adore this die, which went rather well with my faux book.  The sentiment is from MFT Everything Wonderful stamp set.  Yep, I am very happy with my card :)

Your turn!  How are you inspired?  Come on over to JUGS #697 and play along!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Fall Colors

When it comes to Fall colors, I seem to go on the brighter side.  Here in Arizona, my town anyway, we do not get the pretty bright colors.  So, I make it on my cards.

I kept the base monochrome, and used a stashed alcohol inked panel for the maple leaf die.  I do like the color against to neutral background.

I used MFT's Everything Wonderful stamp set for the sentiment.  Totally in love with this set, with the mixed fonts.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While Fall Colors is an option, being a birthday card is not.

MFT Superstar Contest & Inkspirational Challenge #298

Hey everyone.  For today's post, I created a card for the My Favorite Things 2023 CAS Superstar Contest.  While I would love to win [the competition is fierce!], playing along is fun too.

Everything I have from MFT, at this point, is retired.  However, I read the rules, and retired products work so YAY!  I used Greenery Die-namics, Fishtail Frames, and the flowers are from Desert Bouquet [with matching die-namics]

The sentiment was from My Favorite Sentiments, that I stamped and embossed with white, on vellum.  I like my layered CAS card -- Let's hope MFT does too~

-----------------------------------------------

I went on to join in the Inkspirational Challenge; #298 Moodboard.  [My favorite type of challenge!]

When I saw the moodboard, that fuchsia pink jumped right out to me!  Here is my card:

I used a MFT mask, Rectangle Extraordinaire, sponged on 3 lovely colors of ink, removed the mask, and stamped Woodware's, Gardenia, using Versafine Black Ink. [LOVE this stuff!]

The sentiment is from one of Simon Says Sentiment Strips.  I am rather in love with this card.... 😉

Thanks Challenges.  Quite the awesome day - I do love being creative!

Addicted to CAS Challenge - Mushroom

I'll be honest, I really had to look for a mushroom image - but yay, I found one!  It is from an OOB company, but it still worked!

I sponged on ink, stamped the image, and lastly, cut it out with a really dated Spellbinders Label 4 die.

I used a sentiment from the same stamp set, and adhered that onto the focal image.  I am happy I found this image, and I am also happy with the end result~

Your turn!  Come on over to Addicted to CAS Challenge and play along!

Just Us Girls Challenge #696 - Word Week

I think this is a first for JUGS - I love this challenge!!  I wanted a realistic moon, and being the NOT artist that I am, I went to my friend You Tube.  I found THIS video. It was so perfect [for what I was looking for] and I was totally impressed with her end result, so naturally, I had to try it out.

I was really happy with my end result!  I used inks that matched this stunning designer paper, and I think it worked beautifully.

The added gold stars [are someone's?] from my dies, and the sentiment I think is from an old Hero Arts Set.

Your turn!  The team has created some amazing cards with moons -- check it out, get inspired, and then play along over at JUGS #696.  The gallery will be from the moon and back 😉.

Happy Little Stampers September Stencil Challenge

Boy I dislike it when I mess up with my DT cards - like completely missed it!  I rushed to get this made and posted, and, I am not on the challenge site because - I MISSED the deadline.  Oyie Vey.  At least I can share it here, and will pop it over on Insta and FB too for exposure.

I grabbed  a stencil and quickly sponged on some blended ink, cut out a frame, and a hexagon circle off a desperate water colored inked panel, and added a sentiment.  Yep - a very quick mini slimline.

Your turn.  Come on over to HLS September Stencil challenge and play along.  It's always anything goes, and lasts all month!
