Just Us Girls Challenge #715 - Stencil Week

There are so many possibilities with this challenge.  Today I went really far out the spectrum, but, I still used stencils.

As I said the other day, I have been making tissue paper gelli pulls.  The end result of these is so fun!  So, I pulled a few sheets from my stash, and tore them into strips etc, and glue sticked the pieces onto a card panel.  I love the fun mixed media background this created.

I stamped and colored one of the fun birds from Ranger Dina Wakley Scribbly Small Birdies, and used a sentiment strip from Simon Says, to finish off my card.

Your turn.  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #715 and show us how you use stencils~

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Lime & Hot Pink

I do love me bright colors!  I had fun making this card~

Well good grief!  It's about 3 weeks between challenges here on STB - that said, I used the same layered stencil on this week's card as last challenge!  [I'm hoping you all didn't realize that lol] - I am [obviously] really enjoying this layered stencil.  Too bad I have no idea who's it is!  [Hello Vicki - save packaging much?]

I actually got to use my [really old] Hero Arts Neon inks to make this card!  That was fun.  The sentiment is from Ranger Letter It Birthday.  I do adore the scripty font.

Okay, I'm done.  Your turn!  While the colors are optional, being a birthday card is not.  You can upload your card over at Seize the Birthday Challenge.

Just Us Girls Challenge #649 - Trend Week

This is going to be a fun gallery.  So many ways to do repetitive!

I started with a mini slimline base [3.5x6], and used a few of the Kat's Scrappiness Mini Slimline Dies for the panels; Slimline Embossed Edge, Double Stitch, & Fancy Scalloped dies. I used a happy die in rainbow colors for my "repetition", and then used some unbranded dies for the other ones.

I heat embossed the birthday on black card stock with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder. Entering this into the Inkspirational Challenge #273; Repetition too.

That's it for me today.  Your turn, come on over to JUGS #649 Challenge and play along!

A Tiny Craft Challenge [ATC] #9, AAA Cards Challenge #215, Color Throwdown #693

I'm joining in a few challenges today.  First off, my favorite, A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge #9 - Flowers.  This month, I made coins.  Kind of fun for a change.

I started with a mixed media background - layered papers, ink sprays, embossing paste onto a 5½ by 8½ panel, and then cut out the 2½ circles. I added some black splatters, and then cut some mixed flower dies and adhered them to the coins, along with a few pre-printed sentiments.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I went on to play in the Color Throwdown Challenge #693, and AAA Cards #215; No Layer Card.

I used some strips of masking paper, stamped and masked off the flower image, and then sponged on the colors.  Once I removed all the masks, I colored in the image [STAMPlorations retired] with Copics, and added a sentiment from Ranger Letter It Birthday.

Totally no layer, and totally used the colors. 😀

---------------------------------------
Lastly, I joined in at Use Your Stuff #448; Touch of Gold. I went with a tag [I think that's ok].

I inked up some card stock, scrunched it up, and then I swiped Versamark lightly over the "scrunches" and applied gold embossing powder.  [The end result is kind of cool actually.]

I layered some leaf die cuts, using gold as the top layer, added black dots and finally a little word to match. This works for me~

That's it for today.  I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow -- I seem to be having a lot of time on my hands lately~.

Just Us Girls Challenge #623 - Trend Week

Hi all - I am the hostess for this week for the JUGS challenge.  There are so many ways of using embossing folders!  Just check You Tube for Embossing Folders and PA POW! So many ideas!

I started with this first card.  While I liked the idea, I wasn't thrilled with my end result.  [Water colored embossed water color paper.]  I used the Vine Canopy Embossing Folder for my texture.  Once embossed, I dropped on some re-inker ink and sprayed with water.  I wanted the drip effect, but since that didn't work, I continued to spray with water for a full water color effect.

Once that was dry, I swiped on some dye ink over the embossed portion for more depth.

To finish off the card, I used Reverse Confetti's Layered XO die, along with the Circle of Waves Die

------------------------------------

Like I said, I wasn't happy with that first card, so I went for a second card!

I used the same embossing folder, only this time, I started with an inked panel [Oxide ink - Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon], embossed it, then sanded off some of the ink.  I love this technique when done.

My Hello die is from Winnie & Walter.  Apparently, they are out of business.  Not sure how I missed that!  Anyone know when they closed?  Added in some bottom stripes, and this 2nd card is complete.  It is also on my approved list :).

Your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS #623 Challenge and play along.  I'm looking forward to seeing the gallery~

Inspired By Challenge #189 - Guestie

Today I am joining in with the Inspired By Challenge as a Guestie invited by my blogging buddy, Lisa Elton!  How fun is that?!  I sure thought so :).

There are many choices for the challenge. You can be inspired by the photos, or the sketch, or mix it all up.  While I didn't use the sketch, I was inspired by the bottom photo.  I loved the color combo, along with the fun plaid ribbon.

I started using the MFT All Lined Background Cling Stamp to replicate the checked ribbon and cut it down for a side border.  Since I didn't have a "basket" or "pail", I used my [so dusty] Sizzix Birdcage die, which I think worked perfectly cut out of textured silver paper.

I also used another Sizzix Leaves Die and layered those under the cage.  Lastly, I cut the bird out of a water colored panel in my stash. [He came in handy to cover up the stems of the leaves] The sentiment is from Simon Says Sentiment Strips.

That was really fun!  I have always enjoyed inspiration challenges.  Thanks so much Lisa for inviting me to play along!  Now my Followers, it's your turn!  How do the photos inspire you?  Come on over to Inspired By Challenge and join in the fun!

Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge

It's time for the monthly Anything Goes Stencil Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.   I like this challenge as it brings many of you over to join in!

I went with a little stenciling in the corners using the Hex All Over Stencil from ARTplorations, and finished the card from there, by using Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set and MFT die-namics Balloons.

This will make for a perfect masculine card for my stash!

Your turn!  Come on over to the HLS Stencil Challenge and play along.

Seize the Birthday Challenge

This challenge is a fun one --  pop of red

I do adore challenges with a pop of color.  It makes it fun to make, and to see the gallery!

I stamped the images, and then sponged around to add a highlighted area.  I love my red bird. :)

I used a free stamp set from OnlyOneLifeCreations on Etsy.  While there are none left, the Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set is.  [I love the prices on this site!]

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along!  Remember red is an option, being a birthday card is not.
