The Male Room Challenge #195 - Monochrome

This challenge works well for a masculine card - especially if the right color is chosen.

I opened my card stock drawer to look for a color that would work, but also, one I haven't used in long time. I went with a sand color.

To make this card a little more interesting, I made it a shaker card too.

I'm happy with this one!  Masculine with some fun.  Yep, that works!

Your turn.  You have all month to join in over at The Male Room #195.

CutCardStock Day

I knew there was a reason why I don't care for regular slimline cards - photographing them is a nightmare!  That said, my cousin gave me some colored legal envelopes and I wanted to use them.  Ha!  I got one used anyway.

Listed below are the card stocks I used to make this card;

While I do like this end result, I will be staying with the mini slimline.

See you next week!

Kat Scrappiness May Color Challenge

So, I am a Kat's Scrappiness Influencer.  That said, I wanted to share the fun Color Challenge they have going on through the end of May.  I was so inspired by the beautiful photo that I made a card too!

Here is the stunning photo:

I am all about this!  My card on the other hand....well, let's say it went a different direction, but I am thrilled with it :)

Right!  Of course the colors are what I am crushing over.  I used some awesome Kat Products too!

Neenah 110# Card stock

Neenah 80# Card stock

iCraft White 3D Foam Tape

Spellbinder Tape Runner

Mini Slimline Embossed Edge Dies

Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies

Merry Christmas w/ Shadow Die

I added very subtle iridescent gems, and sponged on color oxides; Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon on the MC using my new Spellbinders Blending Brushes.

Does the photo inspire you?  Well come on over and play along!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Alcohol

I have a wine loving friend, and her birthday is coming up!  Perfect challenge for this card.

I used my favorite "alcohol" dies - Wine Not from Kat Scrappiness. These dies are so fun, and work well on a mini size card.

I used a sentiment strip from Simon Says, along with a computer generated sentiment.  I'm thinking she will be happy with this card!

Your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While alcohol is an option, being a birthday card is not. Have fun~

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Candles

I went digging and found a candle stamp in my Dare 2B Artzy collection; Bright Birthday

I started with a mini slimline card base and used a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Double Stitch Die for the panel.

I like that this is a neutral card - works for anyone 😀

Your turn.  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While candles is an option, being a birthday card is not.  Have fun.

SCS Sketch Challenge 942 & SS Wednesday

Well shoot!  I'm late again for this challenge, but I totally loved the sketch, so, I'm better late then never.

While the sketch is a slimline, I made mine a mini slimline.

I do enjoy repeatable word cards.  This was fun to create.  I used Mini Slimline Dies from Kat Scrappiness for the card panel, I don't remember the company for the Happy, and the birthday is from Simon Says Sentiment Strips.  I'm entering this into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge; Anything Goes.

Another successful challenge completed!

SCS Challenges - Color and Sketch

So, I did the Color Challenge from SCS [Splitcoast Stampers) yesterday, but didn't get it uploaded, or posted.  So, I went ahead and did the Sketch Challenge for today, and you get a dual card post!  Sounds like a win for you. 😉

Here is the Color Challenge #931

Believe it or not, my colors are closer than the photograph shows - (no surprise.)

I also used the sketch [and bonus] from a new to me challenge; Sunday Stamps #300.

I used the Wonky Stitched Dies from Kat's Mini Slimline Dies, and the word die cut is from CUTplorations.  The leaf is a retired Spellbinders.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

For my next card, I used the SCS Sketch Challenge #941. I was planning on using the colors from Color Throwdown #726, but whoops - what I saw was not the written colors.  So no-go with that challenge.

Sketch Challenge 941 - 01-18-2023-sc941.jpg

I used a die from Tim Holtz Big Greens, the flower is unbranded and the sentiment is computer generated.

Another fun day!  I'm really happy with SCS!  I love a good reason to create 😀  Thanks Challenges!

Just Us Girls Challenge #661 - Color Week

WELCOME TO 2023 with the JUGS Challenge!  As you can see, we have updated our graphic [thanks Nancy Leppek!], and we have also changed up the challenges.  We kept some, and replaced some.  [You can see the new challenge line up over on the Just Us Girls Challenge blog

Meanwhile, we did [obviously] keep the color challenge.  I missed a couple of Christmas cards needed, so rather then make that type of card, I went with a New Year card.

While this doesn't look navy, it really is.  [Once again, 2023 goal is working on my photography and getting colors more accurate!]  I used Kat's Scrappiness products; Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge Die, Mini Slimline Double Stitch Die, Condensed Numbers Dies, and lastly, Wine Not Dies.

You can see the navy here much better - yay.  I used a strip from Simon Says Sentiment Strip Reverse Holiday to finish off the card.  I am also entering this into the Simon Says Monday Challenge, Light Up the New Year.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge and play along!  Start the new year right! 😉

A Challenge Plus

As much as I thought I was done with Christmas cards, apparently not.  My husband asked did I get this person, that person, and yet another 5 persons!  Akkk - I got busy today to get them done, as I really am done with Christmas cards.

I went ahead and joined in at Inkspirational #280 - Gold.

For the life of me, I COULD NOT get a decent 2nd photo!  That said, at least this first one got accurate colors!

I also made this card - just sharing, no challenge.

I used a couple of Katscrapiness products for this fun one; Merry Christmas with Shadow Die, Mini Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Die for the background.

I sponged on some Oxide inks for blending on the words, I used some white gel pen, and then used some watered down white acrylic paint for some splatters of "snow".

I did make some others, but the lighting is so bad for photographing, it wasn't worth the hassle.

Hope your week end was crafty!

Challenges Continued

Like I said yesterday, my fix was fabulous!  I ended up making 7 cards in 1 day!  So many I needed to have a 2nd post for the rest of the challenges I joined in.

I [again] might be pushing this one - AAA Cards #225; 1/9th + gnome. Never mind, I missed the deadline.  Shoot.  My gnome is big so this card might not qualify, but that's okay.  I still had fun making the card, and it will work for a Christmas card.

I just adore this Large Gnome!  So diverse with his "clothes".  Today, I used an ink panel [from my stash] - I love the multi colored blues.

The sentiment is from Gina K Sentiment Strips Holiday Greetings with matching Dies.

--------------------------------------------

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge; Fall Colors.  I have been seeing hummingbirds a lot lately, so while it's a basic card, I am happy with it, and I think the colors are Fall.

I water colored the fun Simon Says Hummingbird Die.  I wasn't sure it was working, but the more I added water, paint, water, paint, it came together!  I am happy with this end result.

I think I will leave it sentiment free.  I'm not sure who/what I will use it for, so into the stash it goes.
----------------------------------------------

Lastly, is my favorite.  I joined Just Add Ink #625; inspiration.

I used a lot of unbranded dies for this flowered panel.  [Yep, I was inspired.]  The texture was added using a Katscrappiness Mini Slimline Quilted Backdrop Die. [On sale 20% off!! just sayin]

Gosh I had so much fun creating all of these cards.  Thanks Challenges!

A Challenge from Kraty Chicks

I got an email with the Krafty Chicks Challenge #629; CAS.  There was a card I wanted to make, and yep, it totally worked for this challenge....so, I made it 😀

[I am using mostly Katscrappiness supplies, so I used my Influencers badge.]  I started with a mini slimline base, 3.5x6, and cut and adhered the Quilted Backdrop panel to the base.

I cut out a tag, and a snowflake, and then using the Kat's Condensed Number Dies, I used some red glitter paper from the Crafty Perfect Red Card Stock Pad to cut out the numbers.  Overall, there's lots of white space, so I'm thinking its CAS!  If anything, I had fun making it. WON: Top Pick!

Thanks Krafty Chicks!
