Just Us Girls Challenge #650 - Color Week

It's starting to look a lot like Autumn!

I used a few unbranded dies to create this card.  I popped up the one flower petals, and left the other one flat.  I do love texture on cards.

I found a strip embossing folder in my stash.  [It might become my new best friend]!  I love the bottom embossing - again, lovely texture!  I think the Hello is from Technique Tuesday.

Your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #650 and show us how you used the colors.

A Challenge from Kraty Chicks

I got an email with the Krafty Chicks Challenge #629; CAS.  There was a card I wanted to make, and yep, it totally worked for this challenge....so, I made it 😀

[I am using mostly Katscrappiness supplies, so I used my Influencers badge.]  I started with a mini slimline base, 3.5x6, and cut and adhered the Quilted Backdrop panel to the base.

I cut out a tag, and a snowflake, and then using the Kat's Condensed Number Dies, I used some red glitter paper from the Crafty Perfect Red Card Stock Pad to cut out the numbers.  Overall, there's lots of white space, so I'm thinking its CAS!  If anything, I had fun making it. WON: Top Pick!

Thanks Krafty Chicks!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Food

Such an array of images come to mind!  That said, I went with cherries.  I missed buying any this season, so creating some... yep, that works for me.

I started with an inked embossing folder, and ran it through my cutter for some fun added texture.

I stamped this image [from Flourishes - OOB], water colored it (so not me!), and fussy cut it out.

I adhered all to the card base, and added a self made sentiment for the final step.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While food is the option, being a birthday card is not.  Have fun~

CAS-ual Fridays Day

It's time for my CAS-ual Friday day here on the blog.  I don't usually do Halloween cards - personally, I dislike the "holiday".  That said, the fun set Spooky was rather screaming at me, so I listened. 😀

I do think this spider is cute!  I started with using the Bubbly Stencil for a fun background.  On a separate cut panel, I stamped Mr. Spidy along with the smaller web from the Spooky Stamp Set.

While I did intend to stamp the boo directly on the bottom of the front, it wouldn't fit. So, I grabbed some vellum, and stamped and embossed the sentiment. Lastly, I hand drew on the wavy framing.

He just makes me smile!

Do you send out Halloween cards?  I'll probably mail this to my nephew and his family - they are avid H Day fans!

On a sad side note, I'm not sure if you saw the notice, but after 10 years, Michele has decided to close down CAS-ual Fridays. Everything must go and it will be limited to supplies on hand, there will be no restocks on the products.  You can still use my code VICKISENTME to save an additional 15% off your purchase. I'm sure there will be some very low prices as she sells out her remaining stock.  It will be worth it to check it out HERE. I have been designing for CFS from March 2016!  It's been a great ride and I am really sad to see the end of another great company.

Just Us Girls Challenge #649 - Trend Week

This is going to be a fun gallery.  So many ways to do repetitive!

I started with a mini slimline base [3.5x6], and used a few of the Kat's Scrappiness Mini Slimline Dies for the panels; Slimline Embossed Edge, Double Stitch, & Fancy Scalloped dies. I used a happy die in rainbow colors for my "repetition", and then used some unbranded dies for the other ones.

I heat embossed the birthday on black card stock with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder. Entering this into the Inkspirational Challenge #273; Repetition too.

That's it for me today.  Your turn, come on over to JUGS #649 Challenge and play along!

A Couple of Challenges

I am joining in a couple of challenges that sparked my interest; Peace on Earth Christmas #23; mood board, and CASology #407 - Happy.

I used a die I found [in my Christmas stash], and added Red Stickles for the red berries.  Here is the mood board;

I got some happy in there too [Simon Says CZ Stamp Holiday Silhouette] - all while keeping it CAS.  Oh yay me! 😀

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

Happy Little Stampers September Stencil Challenge

I have to chuckle, I have been so into CAS cards lately that I thought I'd go out-of-the-box with today's card..  Well, that said, this is way to busy for me, but it is what it is and I'm going with it.

I started with a retired CAS-ual Fridays stencil (Modern Petals), sponging on some ink, cut a big circle, sponged on ink on the edges for dimension, and adhered it to the base with some dimension tape.  On a separate panel, I used a different stencil and stamped the image and sentiment from Gina K's Wild Blossoms.

Final step, I added some bling.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge and play along!  It's always anything goes, and lasts all month.

AAA Birthday Challenge #41 - Mood Board

I do enjoy creating off a mood board!  This one has many different options for sure!  I was inspired by the lower right striped corner.

Basically, I pulled the colors.  I used the Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die, and a Simon Says Sentiment Strip.

I used a water colored panel [that I made] for the butterfly's background.

Your turn!  You have all month to join in over at AAA Birthday Challenge to show us how you are inspired by the mood board!

Addicted to CAS Challenge #228 - Birds

I'm looking forward to this challenge.  Many people are so talented at coloring birds, me a little.  I did grab out my fav bird from Hero Arts.  ]Naturally, it is a really old stamp [wood], but I do like him :)]

I colored him with Sharpies.  Sometimes, you just need that ultra fine tip!  One of the problems with Arizona, ink tends to dry up.  I had to throw at least 4 of my Sharpies away... so sad.

Fortunately, I still had a nice selection left to color my fun bird!  The sentiment is also an older Hero Arts set.

Just Us Girls Challenge #648 - Word Challenge

Rather then go literal with the word this challenge, I went a little outside the box with a basket-type texture.

I used the Reverse Confetti Circle of Waves Die for my background, and the mitten from [retired] Spellbinders.  I used an embossing folder from Stampin Up for the "basket" texture. [so fun!]

Lastly, I used a sentiment from Waffle Flower Wonderful Christmas Combo.

That's it for me today.  Your turn - come on over to the JUGS Challenge #648 and play along!

CAS on Friday #239

Okay then, apparently, I have a new favorite challenge site!  CAS on Friday comes up with challenges that I just adore.  Today's CAS on Friday #239 is Stripes.  Oh yes please!

While there is an endless array of using stripes, I saw Natasha do THIS on her video, and today is the perfect reason to try it.

I did drops of acrylic paint against the panel edge, and using a scrapper, I swiped the paint across the panel.  It was very easy, and I really love the end result.  I die cut the full panel down with a small rectangle stitched die to make sure there was LOTS of "white" space on my card.

As usual, I had fun.  CAS is on the top of my to-go-to card.  Thanks CAS on Friday for another great challenge!

Seize the Birthday - Color Challenge

For this challenge, we are playing along with our sister challenge Color Hues with the colors Navy & Lime Green

Works for me, not so much my camera!

See that frame? Yeah, it really is navy blue, not the black it looks like!  Sheesh. I used an older stamp set from Simon Says, Flower Friend.

The happy birthday is from Lawn Fawn's Year Two.  The die is from Impression Obsession; Heart Stem Dies.

Okay then, your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday, and if you use the colors, you can also enter it into the Color Hues!  Dual win there.

The Male Room Challenge #166 - Song Title

I read something a few days ago - there are only 13 Saturdays until Christmas!  What?! That said, for me it's only about 10 before I need to get my Christmas cards mailed out - I need to get em done!

Therefore, my card is based on the song,  It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.

The all white reminds me of snow, and I do love a pop of color - gold always works for Christmas.  This will be for my husband's single grandson - I think it is masculine enough. I used Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Thinlits Dies for the fern, and a Top Dog Ornament Die [OOB].

Lastly, a Simon Says Christmas Sentiment Strip. Oh yes, the framing is from Time For Time Smile Inverted Scalloped Frame.

That's it for me.  Another successful Christmas card for mailing.  Your turn - Come on over to The Male Room Challenge and join in the fun.  What's your song title going to be?
