CutCardStock Day

I am using the gorgeous Royal Sundance Linen 80 lb EMERALD 8.5x11 Card Stock.  I do adore this color for a rich Christmas card.

I also used some of the fun CCS Gold 8.5x11 Glitter 74 lb Discount Card Stock for a some cut foliage, and the center circle frame.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for this month.  I'll be back in September~

Addicted to CAS Challenge #266 - Pun

The gallery should bring some smiles to your face with cards using puns. 😉

I went digging, and found this fun stamp set from STAMPlorations, Layered Mushrooms [no longer available]

I kept the colors masculine for this fun guy card.

Such an easy card, no explanation on creating it.

Your turn!  Come on over to ATCAS #266 and show us your pun card~

Just Us Girls Challenge #742 - CASE a DT Week

I was fortunate enough to win/purchase a goodie box from Laura Bassen a couple of weeks ago. [Yes, I was so excited to "win" one!]  It was FILLED, I'm telling you FILLED to the brim, of stamps, dies,  hot foil plates, stencils...I can honestly say, I was overwhelmed!  All that said, today's card is made from a few of those goodies.

I started with a mini slimline base. [This is still my favorite size ever]. Using Pink Fresh Hot Foil Geo Blocks Plate and some gold foil, I made a smaller panel. [As of this writing, this plate is on sale for only $12!]  I went on to stamp and cut out Altenew's Cupped Flowers Complete Bundle.  On a side note here - I will be honest this was my 5th (!) attempt at getting these stamps lined up! [Yeah, I won't rush to use this set again. It was entirely too frustrating]

Lastly, I used Pink Fresh's Scripted Sentiment Hot Foil Plate for my sentiment and the matching die to cut it out.

Overall, this card is okay.  I don't care for the colors of the flowers [and leaves for that matter], but I was done trying to get this card up to my standard [4.5 hours was enough time spent!].  I did mail this one to Laura BTW.  (I'm still questioning that decision 😏)

I hope you try to CASE this card.  The overall is easy to copy. Please pop on over to JUGS #742, check out the other team member's cards, pick one, and play along!  It really is fun for us to see your take.

It's Been a Minute

It's been a minute since I joined in at any challenge.  That said, Simon Says Monday and Wednesday challenges are all about tags.  I am all in for that!

The Wednesday Challenge [from last week] is also using Tim Holtz products.  Yep, I did that!

I started with a panel and masked off the moon and blended on 5 different Distress Inks.  Going through my stamps, I pulled out a couple of botanical images, stamped those, and lastly, stamped the bird.

After adding white splatters [acrylic paint mixed with water], I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Tag & Bookplate Die for cutting out the tag shape. [No surprise that this die is no longer available. You can get a similar set HERE] I manually cut the black shadow layer, and ran a silver pen for further outlining.  Yep, I'm happy with this end result.

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

CutCardStock Day

I don't think I have really gotten across how fabulous this paper is. The cost alone is what won me over.  The average, you get 20 sheets [8.5x11] for only $6.95.  They offer many colors too.  Have you popped on over to CutCardStock to check it out?  You won't be disappointed!  No affiliate here, just an opinion.

All that said, today's card used a few of the colors.

The card base is Classic Crest Recycled 100 Bright White 130#.  I totally love using an extra heavy card stock for my card bases!  This is a pack of 25 for $15.95.  Pretty good for 50 cards! 😀  I cut and embossed a panel of Basis Blue 80#. [25 sheets - $7.95]

I went on to a die cut a doily using the DCS Linen Blue Calico, 80#. [20 sheets - $5.95]  (This paper has a lovely texture on it too).  I cut some stripes for even more layering, using the Blue Calico, Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal 83#. [25 sheets - $8.95] and for a fun pop of color, Astrobright Solar Yellow 80#. [25 sheets - $5.95].  Finally, I stamped and Copic colored the floral image, and added a hot foiled HB.  Yep, I am quite happy with the end results 😀

See you next week~

Seize the Birthday Challenge #290 - Retro

Oh the gallery is going to be fun!  Retro is such an in thing :)

I pulled out my [discontinued] Dare 2B Artzy Retro stamp set, and pulled out some retro colors, and created away!

For added fun, I made it a round card.  The Hello is also from D2BA.  I love the font of this die.

Just so you know, it really is a birthday card. 😉

Your turn.  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While using retro is an option, being a birthday card is not.  Have fun!

Just Us Girls Challenge #741 - Stencil Week

This week is always so fun.  For my card today, I went with reverse stenciling.

I inked up a white card panel, then I laid the stencil over the panel, and inked with a darker blue.  I gotta say, I am totally loving this effect!

I cut out the friend, and my sentiment is computer generated.  It is laminated with a hot foil too - in green actually. I know it looks black.  Silly photographing.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #741, and show us how you use a stencil.

CutCardStock Day

I am using the fabulous Royal Sundance Linen Emerald 80# card stock.  I just adore the texture this card stock has. I tried the technique of highlighting an embossing folder with white pigment ink.  While it is a lovely technique, I think I need a little more practice. Plus, whoever receives this [fortunately] will not be a stamper so, I think they will still like it.

I added a small panel for the lovely font sentiment.

See you next Saturday~

Addicted to CAS Challenge #265 - Blended

So many ways to go blended.  I used the basic; Distress Oxide inks.  They blend like butter!

I went with a different color combo, sometimes it's fun to go out of your comfort zone.  I used Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Prize Ribbon, and Barn Door.

I cut out the Large Shadow Thanks in white, and blended the same inks on that.  For a little added interest I self drew the graphic lines.

Your turn.  Come on over to Addicted to CAS and show us your blending.  I'm looking forward to the gallery.

Just Us Girls Challenge #740 - Moodboard Week

What a very Summery moodboard!

As par for me, I went literal with the photos.

I used the images from Dare 2B Artzy, Beeutiful.  I loved the bokeh effect I saw on the moodboard, and created that too.

I actually used masking in order to keep the flowers white!  MASKING, ME! I really don't use that technique very often.  I think its the fussy cutting involved. HA!  Yeah, I am a lazy stamper I'll admit it.

Overall I captured the mood board, not sure I'm in love with my card, but I'm going with it.

Your turn!  How does the moodboard inspire you?  Come on over to Just Us Girls Challenge #740 and show us your card!

CutCardStock Day

I went totally bright and cheery by using the amazing Astrobright Solar Yellow 80# card stock.  So fun, so BRIGHT!  🌞

I used a fun butterfly, and found a perfect, tiny, sentiment to fit in the framing. My friend will love this card!

Seize the Birthday Challenge #289 - Critters

I'm not sure butterflies are considered cute, but they are critters, so I am going with my card.

I saw a butterfly on Pinterest with these colors and had to re-create them.  I love the end result.  I used the Hero Arts [older then dirt] butterfly stamp set with matching dies.

I also hot foiled the sentiment.  [I'm really trying to use/ improve my foiling.]

That's it for me.  Your turn - Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge #289, and play along.  While using cute critters is optional, being a birthday card is not.

Just Us Girls Challenge #739 - Word Week

This should be a great gallery!  So many ways to use a frame on your card!

I used some very pretty papers from Heartfelt Creations.  While they are no longer selling hard papers [which is what I used],  they are selling digital images!  This is called Blazing Poppies Digital Paper Collection.  The colors in this paper collection are just outstanding!

I used a retired fish tail frame die from MFT, and that sentiment?  My fabulous teammate, Lisa, was so generous and sent me this hot foil die [retired Poppy Stamps].  I used a pretty rose color for the foiling, which matched rather wonderfully with the colors on the papers.

Okay, its your turn!  We sure hope you come on over to JUGS Challenge #739 and play along!  I'm looking forward to seeing how you use a frame.
