Just Us Girls Challenge #772 - Anything Goes Stencil

Well, I put some real effort into today's card!  It's been forever since I used my Copics 😆.

I'm enjoying creating with colored card bases. I totally love the look! For this card I used the [so pretty] CutCardStock Metallic JuniperI grabbed a stencil and a darker shade of ink, and covered the background panel.  The card stock color was so pretty, it screamed using the Trinity Blooming Bunch stamp set, with matching die.  I really enjoyed coloring this image.  It's nice and big, and easy to color.  That is a major win in my book.

I used a sentiment from MFT Everything Wonderful [no longer available].

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS #772 Challenge, and show us how you use a stencil!

CutCardStock Day

I don't think I have really gotten across how fabulous this paper is. The cost alone is what won me over.  The average, you get 20 sheets [8.5x11] for only $6.95.  They offer many colors too.  Have you popped on over to CutCardStock to check it out?  You won't be disappointed!  No affiliate here, just an opinion.

All that said, today's card used a few of the colors.

The card base is Classic Crest Recycled 100 Bright White 130#.  I totally love using an extra heavy card stock for my card bases!  This is a pack of 25 for $15.95.  Pretty good for 50 cards! 😀  I cut and embossed a panel of Basis Blue 80#. [25 sheets - $7.95]

I went on to a die cut a doily using the DCS Linen Blue Calico, 80#. [20 sheets - $5.95]  (This paper has a lovely texture on it too).  I cut some stripes for even more layering, using the Blue Calico, Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal 83#. [25 sheets - $8.95] and for a fun pop of color, Astrobright Solar Yellow 80#. [25 sheets - $5.95].  Finally, I stamped and Copic colored the floral image, and added a hot foiled HB.  Yep, I am quite happy with the end results 😀

See you next week~

Shaker Plus

I have a small list of challenges that appealed to me.  Since I had time to play, I did!

Let's start with Just Add Ink #682; a Sketch, along with Time Out Challenges #253; Sparkly.

I literally was done with this card [45 min], laid it on my glass board - AND grrr there was ink on the glassboard, which naturally GOT ON MY CARD.  Sheesh - Can you say remake? When I went to bed, I decided I needed to change this card to a shaker.  So, I did that today, and because of the pretty "sparkly" shaker bits, this qualifies for the Time Out Challenge.  win-win.

I used my "won" Trinity Layered Pine Stencil Set to ink the tree.  I'm telling you, these layered stencils are very cool!  The end result is just fabulous.

------------------------------------------

I went on to join in a favorite challenge of mine, {PIN}spirational #308; red/green birthday, along with Simply Clean & Simple December Challenge; Anything Goes, Red & Green.

This month really is getting away from me.  Usually, I check my birthday card list the 1st of every month - pull the cards - date for mailing, and then [hopefully] get them mailed out in time.  Yeah, well that didn't happen, so I MISSED my great niece's milestone birthday.  [The inside will say sorry this is late.]  I'm so bummed I missed getting this to her on time.  But, I was able to make a red & green card for the challenges. So, there is that.

She is not foo foo at all, so a nice geometrical card works perfectly for her!

That's it for me today.  I might be back tomorrow as I have some fun ATC's to [make] share :).

The Male Room Challenge - Stencil or Dies

This should be a busy challenge - many different directions this can go!

I went with a mini slimline using Trinity's Mini Slimline Dies, Modern Embossed Panels and Circles Mini Slimline Die Set, along with Autumn Impressions Stamp Set, for the leaves.

My sentiment is from Altenew's Leaf Canopy.

Your turn!  Come on over to The Male Room Challenge and play along.  This challenge lasts all month.

Just Add Ink #616

Only joined in one challenge for today - Just Add Ink #616 - a sketch.

When I saw the sketch it screamed an edge-less shaker to me, so, that's what I made!  I Copic  colored Trinity Stamps Love You Bunches, and using the matching die, cut it out. [Well that's unfortunate, both these are retired!]  I off set the flowers on one edge, and adhered it to the panel.  I cut out the circle, stamped it with Technique Tuesdays Fabulous [also retired].

I wrapped the packaging around the entire panel, taped it down [leaving the top open], and filled it with pretty sequins. I closed off the top, and this shaker panel was complete. It needed something, so I added the framing onto the shaker panel, and finally adhered all to the card base.

Excellent sketch Challenge!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Blue, Purple, & Green

Oh for goodness sake!  I made my card.........it was pretty time consuming, and realized I had missed the green color!  I even had gone to use green, and thought, nope it's blue and purple.... Good heavens!

So. As you can see, the green was [would of been] perfect for the leaves of this Trinity Blooming Bunch Stamp Set.  However, it was too much work to re-do this card, so I added green hearts!  That worked :)

The sentiment is from the lovely Memory Box Signature Greetings.  I absolutely adore this set with the beautiful handwritten font!

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  While the colors are optional, being a birthday card is not.

Just Us Girls Challenge #630 - Wild Card Week

I found a You Tube video [by Natasha Foote] that helped me to easily make this fun card! [Yeah, I am all about easy.]

I used my favorite Trinity Stamp Set, Blooming Bunch, along with a SS Sentiment Strip.  The image was colored with Copics.

Here it is opened.  Super fun card to make, and I can't wait to mail it out!  My friend is going to love it!

Your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge and play along.  I am looking forward to the gallery.

Gotta Love Challenges!

Since retirement, I am finding myself in my stamp room on a daily basis.  To be honest, my cards are keeping me sane!  [Retirement isn't all its cracked up to be - just sayin.]  It's a good thing I love making cards :).

For today's challenges, I am joining in at Use Your Stuff #446 - Spring, Global Designs #339 - Flowers, and then The Paper Players #587 - CAS April Showers.

When I think of Spring, I think of this Trinity Stamp Set Blooming Bunch.  I just adore this arrangement of flowers, and they are so easy to color!  Yes, perfect for these challenges.

The coordinating Blooming Bunch dies make it easy to dimension [foam] the image too.  For more of a Spring card, I sponged a background, and then obviously, I used a yellow card base.  I'm hoping there is enough "white" space for the CAS portion of the Paper Players challenge.

------------------------------------------------------

I went on to join in AAA Cards 213 - Small & Spring and Cards 4 Guyz #294 - Tag You're It.

While this [so adorable] pencil, from Paper Smooches Just a Note, isn't a flower - it is yellow, and it is tiny, so I am going for it.

I used a tiny tag die [I've had for years], and adhered it with removable tape so the recipient can use it as a bookmark.  I love including reusable tags on cards.  I also love this card!  Total fun.

That's it for me.  I really do need to do something else around my house.  At least it will be moving rather then sitting in my chair~

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Signs of Spring

or you can use the twist - Signs of Spring

Signs of Spring to me are pretty colored flowers.  That, and I don't like to make scenery type cards - which was my 2nd thought. lol

I used the Trinity stamps Love You Bunches Stamp Set [and matching die].  I do love this set - perfect for today's card.

I also used the Trinity Mini Slimline Clean & Simple Die to acheive the highlighted layout, and a sentiment strip from Simon Says.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  Don't forget to make your card birthday~

Just Us Girls Challenge #619 - Trend Week

I'm trying a new blog layout -- we'll see if it does what I want it to do.  You can see the stencil that I made in the photo.  Yep, very small, hey it worked rather perfectly for the layout I drew up.

I used Trinity Stamps Mini Slimline Modern Embossed Panels & Circles Dies, along with the fun butterfly from the Blooming Bunch stamp set with matching dies.  The sentiment is yet another Simon Says Sentiment Strip.

Your turn.  Make that custom stencil and come on over and play along with us at JUGS #619!

A Couple of Challenges

I took some time to join in a couple of challenges that inspired me.  The first one, Global Design Project #328 - Case the Designer.  I do love to CASE cards - especially when I like them lol.

Here is her card:

I love the center focal image, and also the water colored background.

For my CASE, I went to my extra background panels and found one I liked, then I colored the flowers from Trinity's  Blooming Bunch [with matching dies] to match it.

I rather like the solid coloring of the images, and you still can see the angled panels, and the background.

The sentiment is from Memory Box Signature Greetings with matching dies.  I really enjoy the detailed die to the fun font sentiment.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was watching a video today, and it reminded me of a technique that I just adore, but typically, forget about doing - sanding embossing.  The timing was perfect for me to join in the Simon Says Monday Challenge; Embossing Folder. You can see the video HERE, and here is my card.

Once again, I grabbed an inked panel [from my stash], and used the Simon Says 3D Roseville Bouquet Embossing Folder.  [It's very pretty]

Here is a close up of the sanding. It's hard to see with the colors of the panel, but in real life, it's pretty cool.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Sentiment Strips.  [I just love this product!]
You can see the video HERE.

Thanks so much challenges!  I had a blast joining in~
