Another Freebie! Another Challenge!
I just came across this adorable image! Do you want it? Click here for the website to get the down-loadable one! This is my entry for the challenge! What an adorable kitty this is! I printed and nestied it out and then I colored a second one - cut it out and mounted it on top of the nestied one. Still working on those copics!!
Verve March 1/ Crazy 4 Challenges
Well, no such luck for winning in February - so now I am trying for March. I based my colors on these kitchen items. Every month we are touring houses - this month kitchens. Also, there is a sketch to follow. This is also for Crazy 4 Challenges - 3 different textures. The card is pretty basic really -I scored the background on my Scor Pal every 1/2 inch, I used GKD's Botanical Dreams for the flowers and than ran in through my friend cuttlebug for the striped lines. Stamped my sentiment - Verve Happiness Found - and while still in the nesties I sponged barely banana. Used brads on my primas mounted it all and the card was finished. I am on such a roll today - WOW! Later gator..

STV Color Challenge - Shannon's last one
I had to play in Shannon's last color challenge. I can not believe how fast the last 3 months went! Good grief but time flies! Shannon's challenge this week was use metallic papers. Perfect for a wedding anniversary! My sentiment stamp is Posh Impression. I used GKD's Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder - great stuff BTW! [HINT: Did you know you can use a dryer sheet instead of an embossing buddy? - yep - takes away any static when using embossing powder~will only stick to the embossing ink!] The sketch is from Whimsical Wednesdays: The Diedrich Dare. See ya later!!

SFYTT #4

Okay, I have completed the 4 cards for the DT contest over at i{heart}2stamp! This last sketch I flipped - I had plans to use another stamp but I liked this sentiment from GKD Botanical Dreams, so I used it instead. [Plus, it is a new stamp set for me and I HAD to ink it up!!] I liked this sketch - it was very easy to make an elegant card, but simple at the same time! Wish me luck-- I will be watching the post carefully! LOL Okay, I am done for the day - I am actually going out with my DH and taking a break from Saturday pm stamping! Thanks for stopping by!
JUGS & CCEE
This is for Just Us Girls Challenge #22 - a template. This box was a freebie from Lauren Meader's new store. The colors are for CCEE's Challenge #1008 by Charlene Merrick - Ruby Red, Creamy Caramel and Black. I lined the inside with creamy caramel after I stamped it with the same cut out flower on the front in Ruby Red. This little box was very easy to put together. I just printed it directly onto free digital paper from Gina K over at Stamp TV! Thanks again for stopping by!
IC221 - Congrats
My card for the Inspiration Challenge was from this beautiful costume. I will say, Stef did an excellent job with this site. The costumes the competitors wear are just stunning to me. Of course, I was drawn to this one since I just love black and turquoise together! I embossed the leaves with white pigment ink and used black sparkle embossing powder. For once, my photo was able to pick up the "sparkleness". My scrunch flower was made with punched pages out of a magazine. That paper works so well for these flowers! It scrunches really well. The Congratulations sentiment is from GKD newest set Inside and Out. This is a FREE set when you buy 3! I love the basic sayings on this set. Thanks for stopping by. I am off to make another card. Its Saturday - I have ALL day and night to play! I like Saturdays!

Gina K Blog Contest #2
This is my 2nd entry for Gina's Blog Hop Challenge; at least 2 new colors and 1 new stamp set. On this card I use Lemon Drop and dp, and my ms punches butterflies are Ocean Mist. I used 2 of the new stamp sets - Inside & Out for the sentiment, Pressed Flowers shadowing the sentiment along with the stamped leaves. I used Jennie's last sketch of her 3 month hostess gig over at STV.
Thanks for visiting! I will have more cards tomorrow!!
GinaK Blog Contest
This card is for Gina K's challenge~ she is running the challenge for a Designer!-The challenge: use at least 2 of her new colors and one of the new stamp sets that were released this month. On my card I used Creme de Menthe and Ocean Mist along with a stamp and sentiment from Theresa Momber's Hang in There set. I kept the card clean and basic because I really wanted to focus on the beautiful sentiment! How true it is!! This sketch is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #62.
Like I have said before - can't win if you don't play! Thanks for stopping by~ I sure love the support!

Stampin B's #47
This week is MY challenge over at Stampin B's - I chose a color challenge - Kraft, Brown & Purple. I needed a sil birthday card and my new star nesties are perfect for a male card! Don't you think? [Actually, the colors are too!] (The digital striped paper is kraft, brown and purple, but my printer is running low on ink, so it is pretty washed out! - Bummer) The sentiment is a Hero Arts that i stamped in choc chip and embossed with clear embossing powder.
Come on over to the Stampin B's and give me your support by playing in my challenge this week!! I can't wait to see what you create!! Thanks for stopping by - Vicki

Verve Feb 4 - Happiness
This was my 4th card for the Verve February Challenge. I based my card off this inspiration. The sketch is Amber's - she does one every Friday. I used my nesties again for the butterfly and the sentiment is a Verve. Okay, that is the last challenge for Verve February. Wish me luck! Thanks for stopping by~ I love hearing from you all!!
TMITA - Little Bear
I made this card for a few challenges. The layout is from SCS269, which I flipped to be able to use this adorable image from There is Magic in the Air. Nina is so nice to share her digitals on Mondays for her challenges. Unfortunately for me, I missed part of the challenge to distress my card!! [What a dummy I am] so it really doesn't fill the requirements - but I still wanted to share it! Yeah, I could take the card apart and distress it - but NO. LOL. I can give you a hint on how I distress though - USE A DINNERWARE KNIFE! Yep it works really well and no "new" tool required! I KNOW all of you have knives! LOL.
Lastly, I haven't mentioned this since I have started this blog, but I run a COLOR CHALLENGE over at Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends on Wednesdays! I have some wonderful stamping friends who play every week, but I would love for you to join in too! I believe you have to join (really no big deal) and then just click on the 'color challenge' in the group listing. The challenge runs from Wednesday to the following Tuesday and the best part? I send the winner a prize!! So far I have sent out a ton of prizes! It is really a friendly and supportive group of ladies! I sure hope you come and play! This week's colors are Chocolate Brown, Sage and White (as you can see from my card) Thanks for stopping by~~

Theresa's Showcase #6
This card also is for TLC261 - pieces of paper - I just did cattails, but I really like the idea. They are made with SU word punch - easy peasy! I stamped the frog, copic colored him, reverse masked the sun (punch a post it with a circle punch), place on paper and sponge) sponged the background, and stamped the tall grass. I cut out with my oval nesties and then applied the cattails. I cut out my inches and than embossed with a cuttlebug folder. This sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #61. My finished card is a 5.5 square.

Theresa #5
(I added this picture so you could see the blue frog!)
Okay this is my last card for today! I was a tad busy this week end with cards, but I had such a bad week [with cards] that I had to make up for it! LOL. This is my FIRST watercolor attempt... Like copics, it is a definite work in progress. I can see the potential (in other cards done by AMAZING artists), but I will need more practice. However, for a first time I am not to unhappy with this. I colored this on a quality watercolor paper (from MFP) and cut out the image and mounted it on the card. The sketch is from Eat Sleep Stamp sketch #71. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by~ Vicki

Featured Stamper - Jovial Judi
I did 2 entries today for the Featured Stamper Judi. She (like all features stampers) has an amazing gallery. Judi's unique feature is her matching insides AND envelope. Check out her gallery and see her wonderful creations! I made this flower and hadn't used it - when I saw Judi's card - well it just screamed time to use. For these flowers you punch, scrunch, glue dot together (I had 4 punched out flowers), twine a button and glue dot it to the center. Simple easy.
On my second card (4th for Theresa's set) I don't do monekys, but koala bears hang from trees too so there you go! I must say the cuttlebug leaf folder works just perfect with the little guy - who BTW I paper pieced for the STV challenge by Selma for Blast from the Past.

Theresa's Showcase #3
SFYTT #3
This is the third challenge for I{heart}2stamp challenge for the month of February. Again, it is a sketch. Jen is offering a HUGE array of blog candy and a possible guest designer position. [Can't win if you don't play] ~~ I kept this pretty basic. I really like the layered look of white on white. My little flowers are Hero Arts~Whimsical Flowers. The bottom right are ms punches and a button (that you can barely see) Thanks for stopping by! Vicki
Theresa's Showcase #2
This is a second showcase for Theresa Momber's (GKD) Hang in There stamp set. I got my inspiration from this (IC220 over at SCS) and changed the bird to a dragonfly (nesties 'Insects') to support Taylored Expression in their Dragonfly Drive to help support parents in the loss of their child. This also qualifies for the Belli Blog - dragonfly or butterfly on your card.
I did my dragonfly with the cracked glass technique. [For once, I actually got my photo to show the effect!] I used gold mirror paper (love this stuf!) that I got from Marco's Paper Supply. I also used a cuttlebug folder and dry embossed with my circle nesties. I don't know about you, but I don't know what I did before I got my cb and nesties! I love those two tools more than anything else I own! They just add so much for my cards! Thanks for stopping by - I am sure I will have more cards today so check back, or sign up for an email notice! You will get sent daily what I have done. I sure appreciate all your wonderful comments~~ Vicki

Stampin B's #46 - Split Negative Challenge
Vicky Gould's challenge this week for the Stampin B's is a Split Negative Card.
These cards are always a challenge for me - for some reason I just struggle with what image to use! So, I used a small Hero Arts butterfly. And, as I am sure you can see, it isn't lined up the way it should be. LOL - I finally gave up and used it. (after 3 tries) I used my newest cb folder for texture (I just love the stripes!) and the sentiment is from Verve.
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out! I hope you have time to stop by and play with us over at the Stampin' B's!! Vicki

Happy Heart
This card is for Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #100! I used the colors from The Color Dare #56~ razzelberry, pale plum, tempting turquoise, and black. I pierced around the circles - [they were just to plain for me], used my cuttlebug, SU Friendship Blooms stamp set, and of course gems [please ignore the spot of glue you see - LOL] Thanks for stopping by I appreciate it!! Featured Stamper - Laurie - Hamilton Girl
This was for the Featured Stamper -Laurie. As usual, the FS' gallery is always amazing! A lot of Laurie's cards are CAS -clean and simple. I chose this card-------->
to CASE (copy & share everything). I changed the image, colors, and added 3 gems. I like "legal" copying - LOL. Makes for an easy card!!

Sunday, February 14, 2010
This was a fun project. A matchbook. I stamped, cut out embellies, and put in a small slider closing envelope (I got mine at Mike's). This is for a fellow stampers birthday. This was so easy to make - Cut cs 9 1/4 x 3, score at 3/4", 5", and 5 1/4" - fold at scoring and staple the bottom (close to the edge for tuck room). Decorate as desired, and I used a piece of score tape to hold the small plastic bag to the inside. I am excited about this gift - AND it will fit inside a card for mailing! Thanks for stopping by! Vicki

Gina's 3rd New Release Challenge
This is for the 3rd challenge over at GKD's Release Forum over at SCS. My butterfly is a Spellbinder's shapeability that I sponged still the die and then darken it up after I took it out of the die cut. I'm so bummed, I broke my C plate for my cuttlebug! It just cracked when I went to cut the leaves out. [Hint: no C plate with a SU die cut - B only!] What a drag! Anyway, I am really happy with these bright colors. The highlighting is done with a Signo white gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by! Wish me luck in being drawn for the free stamp set! Vicki

SFYTT #2
This is my second entry for Jen's [I{heart}2stamp] amazing blog candy offer! (Boy that would be fun to win!) Again, I have kept the card clean and precise. I wasn't quite sure about the sketch, but I ended up REALLY liking it! I cut out my flower per Dawn McVey's video tutorial she had today on cutting out embellishments - what a help her videos have been for me! Since I am a visual learner, videos help me a lot!!

Gold Moment
This was for Verve Challenge Week 1 - based on this room and the sketch. Also for GKD's release challenge~ 3 buttons.
I got a new cuttlebug folder tonight - oh how I LOVE my cuttlebug. I just love the texture it adds to my cards. A pretty basic card, but I like it. Sentiment stamp is from GKD Times Treasures by Theresa Momber.

STV sketch challenge #11
This is my card for Jennie's #11 sketch challenge over at Stamp TV! This girl just rocks these sketches! The little bird guy is a unique creation of Diana over at Wordbird's Nest. I feel so privileged that she shared them with me! These little birds started a fabulous cyber friendship about 8 months ago. How fun is that!! I colored my little friend with copics and than embossed with extra thick embossing powder [he is really shiny IRL]. I used a ms punch, a strip of ribbon and of course, my gems.
Thanks for stopping by... the mojo is returning!! Yea!~~ Vicki

STV challenge - star on your card
I just got in my new "star" stuff - cuttlebug folder, nesties - oh how fun! I only used 1 nestie on this - didn't want to over do the stars and I went with different colors for me. My mojo still hasn't come back full but at least I am stamping! This sketch is for Eat Sleep Stamp #70.

Stampin B's #45
This is for the Stampin B's #45 challenge by Lois this week; a red, white and blue non patriotic card. The red just made me think of a lighthouse...not sure why, I have never seen a red lighthouse - but, now I have! I made an easel card (my first one!) and the knots in the twine are actual sailor knots! AND peeps I COLORED WITH COPICS... ya all know I struggle with these tools! I really have to FORCE myself to use them. Maybe I am "getting it", because I am okay with how this turned out! The crabs and starfish are made with martha stewart punches and the background scoring is done in 1/2 increments (diagonal) on my scor pal.
Please feel free to COME ON OVER and play in the Stampin B's Thursday Challenge~~ we would love to see your creations!!
