This is the sketch for today over at Stamp TV.  I like sketches - they are so helpful when building a card (for me anyway).  I also purchased the new Color Inspiration magazine -- what a fabulous source of inspiration.

I used the fun new GKD stamp set Gleefully Yours- All about music and fun!  Come on over and play~ you might be the random winner of a stamp set $25.95 or less!  Thanks for stopping by~

Monday, January 3, 2011

I had made this and actually, even scheduled it 2 weeks ago, but since Gina took off a couple of weeks, I pulled it to share now!  I enjoyed the break.  I used my diamond nesties.  I always forget I have these but as soon as I saw this sketch the light bulb went off~duh.  I used the newly released GKD stamp set The Giving Tree.
It really is a CAS card and requires no explanation of what I did. Gosh I didn't even use my friend the cuttlebug for texture!  What was I thinking~~
Feel free to stop over at Stamp TV and join in the fun!  You could win a stamp set of your choice!!  What a prize!!  Thanks for stopping by~~

STV Sketch

Oh I liked Gina's sketch today!  I saw this leaf idea over at SCS last week and I really liked the effect.  I am not one to think out of the box - I see it - I like it  - I make it.  I don't dream it - and create it like a lot of you out there in blogland.  Oh well.  I used GKD Pressed Flowers and Vintage Backgrounds on this card  I do know I like foliage type stamps and DOTS!  I also like Sea Mist and Black together~~  Come on over and play in Gina's Sketch Challenge over at Stamp TV- you might win a stamp set of your choice 24.95 or less!

Stamp TV Sketch

This is for the sketch challenge over at Stamp TV.  I used the GKD Winter Wings along with a Tim Holtz swirl.  This is my second attempt for this card - the first one - wow did I mess that up!  I tried the cracked glass effect - but the bird was already mounted on the card - HA!  ALWAYS do that technique BEFORE mounting.  What a dork I can be~~ lol  I really do need to work on my coloring this bird - not so good, but I do like the overall idea...  Thanks for stopping by~

Stampin B's & Stamp TV Sketch

Gosh I get so busy creating for future stuff, that I don't get to play much during the week.  I'm still working on that time management arena - lol.

This is my sketch challenge for Stamp TV.  I thought last week was my last one, but I got to go one more week!  Just a few layers vs last week's CAS sketch that I did.

I used GKD stamp set, Botanicals.  As much as I dislike needing sympathy cards, I do like to have some in my stash.  The font on this set is friendly, but elegant and is perfect for what I wanted.  I used muted colors, as is appropriate and I have to say I am happy with this card.  Once again, I also used GKD's FREE download paper.  This stuff is so awesome as a card base - looks textured I just love that!  Not a member of Stamp TV?  Just register - it is free and filled with AMAZING stuff, along with terrific tutorials - all on video that Gina herself has created.  Well worth the 2 minutes it takes to sign up.

This card is for the Stampin B's.  This week Lois challenged us to use an animal in a die cut.  I have an animal ON a die cut, so I hope this works.  lol  As you can see I am using Speedy the Cat.  I adore his Santa hat and the way he looks like a stamp.  I went CAS (which, I know I have been doing a lot lately - it's just so fun!)  This is a sneak peek of Mark's Finest Papers, Christmas Postage Due.  (Our blog hop starts next Tuesday!)  Come on over to the Stampin B's and join in the fun~~

Stampin B's & Stamp TV Sketch

This week's challenge is a Fall card.  I used Mark's Finest Papers soon to be released (October 12th) stamp sets A Walk in the Woods and Greetings of the Season.  For my tree I just used my copics to dot in the leaves.  A pretty basic, but fun card to make.  Hope to see you over at The Stampin B's!!

This is my sketch for Stamp TV this week.   I am quite thrilled that Jessica and Gina asked me to Host for another month.  How fun!  I used the GKD sets Lovely Labels and Friends are Forever , along with a MS butterfly punch.  Feel free to come on over to STV and play in this challenge too.  I know!  COMBINE the challenges~~~ hee hee

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge #4

CAS Version

Intermediate Version

I have to chuckle, Gina did a tutorial on embossing with your scor buddy  today,  she used the same sketch that I had drawn out [before I knew!] Gee is that great minds or what - LOL - Anyway, I went ahead and used my sketch, and also included Gina's embossing  on the CAS verson- why not?  It looks good and works!  I used GKD Timeless Treasures, illustrated by Theresa Momber.  I adore GKD papers - I used Red Hot, Fresh Asparagus and Green Apple.  The papers are heavy enough to have your card stand up really well.  Feel free to pop on over and play in the sketch challenge - you might win your choice of a stamp set at 24.95 or less!  Oh yeah - GKD has gone to pre-cut stamps!!  That makes me VERY happy!!  Thanks for stopping by~~

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge #3

This month, on Thursdays I do the STV Sketch Challenge.  To add a little variety, I have been doing a CAS version and an Intermediate version.  A challenge for both the beginner stamper, along with the more advanced.  Sometimes, a CAS card can be the challenge for the more advanced!  Hence the dual sketches.

CAS Version

     Intermediate Version

On my CAS version, I used the GKD Picture It, for the corner stamp, and GKD Inside and Out for the sentiment.  On the corner stamp I tried the Spritzing Technique.  I am not sure if it shows in the photo but IRL it looks very nice.

On the Intermediate version I also used GKD Picture It stamp set.  I also tried Gina's technique Distressed Stripes, which I than ran through my Seeing Spots cuttlebug folder.  I added a few layers with the help of my friends, Nestabilities and a bow.  All this equals the intermediate card.

Feel free to come on over to Stamp TV and play in the challenge.  If you aren't a member - it is free and takes maybe 5 min to sign up!  You have an opportunity to win a stamp set of your choice for 24.95 or less in the random drawing for the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by~~

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge #2

As I stated last week, I am making a CAS (clean and simple) sketch. version, along with an intermediate version.  You can use the CAS to whip out a quick card. On the other hand, if you want to challenge yourself, go for the intermediate - lots of layers and embellies.  Whatever you choose, I hope you have fun!  I used Gina K Design stamp set  Gifts From the Sea on both my samples,
and, a little seahorse from Spellbinders nestabilities along with some netting and twine.

Feel free to come on over to Stamp TV and input your card in the challenge [you could win a stamp set of your choice up to 24.95] or, use my sketch just to play at home.  Thanks so much for stopping by - I appreciate it!!

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge Hostess... again!!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!  Gina asked me to Host the STV Sketch Challenge again.  Oh I am SO happy!  I love making sketches.  I changed it up a little this time.  I will be making 2 sketches - 1 is geared to the beginner stamper and/or the CAS  (clean and simple) design, and the 2nd is more complex for the intermediate/advanced stamper, or the beginner who wants to really stretch themselves!  Here are my samples for week 1:

 CAS Design

Intermediate Design

Here are my samples:

I used GKD Botanicals on both cards and added Vintage Backgrounds (along with cuttlebug texture - dots) on the intermediate card. I will be doing these comparative cards over the next month.  My goal? To show how your cards can look good no matter what your skill level is, but to challenge you at the same time (if you want).  I am looking forward to the uploads.  Wanna play?  Come on over to Stamp TV and join in (if you haven't already) - who knows, YOU might be the random drawn winner of a stamp set valued at 24.95 or less!!  Hope to see you over at STV~~  Thanks for stopping by -

Thursday Sketch Challenge - 5/27/10 - STVSCVD13

So, this is my last sketch challenge over at STV.  It's been an amazing 3 months - I had so much fun creating sketches and sample cards to go with.  This week is rather a simple sketch, but I have been on such a CAS roll  lately, it goes along with what I wanted on my card.  Don't you just love the colors on my card - I REALLY love GKD colored cardstock.  The hue of color is just so rich and deep in color.  I used Lovely Lavendar, Fresh Asparagus, Lipstick Red and Vivid Violet along with her wonderful Heavy Base Pure White.  I have been admiring the butterfly punch being used on cards lately, so my son got me the punch for my bday (he did good huh? - I thought so!).  I used my friend the cuttlebug for some texture and GKD Picture It stamp set for the image and Inside and Out for the sentiment.
Feel free to come on over and play in my last challenge!  I would love to see you~~  Thanks for stopping by -
