One Layer Card Challenges

It wasn't planned, but today is all about One Layer Card Challenges.  While I have been creating many CAS cards lately, not so much the fun one layered cards.

It started with Less is More #471; OLC + favorite flower, and I also joined in Use Your Stuff #454; Nature, and finally, Inkspirational #271; One Layer Stamping.

I started with a self made circle stencil, and sponged on ink.  I used an old Hero Arts flower stamp [wood based no less!], along with a sentiment from Simon Says Clean Line Everyday.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I went on to join in AAA Cards #221; Small & Few Lady(bugs), and Inkspirational #271; One Layer Stamped Card.

I just love this ant from Lawn Fawn Happy Summer!  He makes me smile every time I use him.

I used a different sentiment from Simon Says Clean Line Everyday.

On a side note, I learned a new trick today [after blogging for what 15 years now?] from my friend Carol Mayne [cm as she is known] - you can enter 2 cards from the same blog post, into the same challenge!  [I am trying it today] by adding #a to the very end of your link. [Follow up, it works!]

Meanwhile, thanks Challenges!  I had a great day in the stamp room :)

Just Us Girls Challenge #645 - Trend Week

This is an easy challenge!  Sometimes, those are a good thing~

I started with a framed rectangle stencil and sponged on a couple of ink colors starting in the corner and blending up and out as I sponged on the ink.  Once that was done, I used the Star Stencil from CAS-ual Fridays for some added darker stars against the sponged area.

I cut out and double layered a Pink & Main Stitched Star, inked around the edge, and then adhered it to the panel with foam tape for dimension.  I used the Simon Says Big Thanks, and last, I added 3 gems from my stash.

That's it for me.  Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #645 and share your stenciled card!

Just Add Ink #616

Only joined in one challenge for today - Just Add Ink #616 - a sketch.

When I saw the sketch it screamed an edge-less shaker to me, so, that's what I made!  I Copic  colored Trinity Stamps Love You Bunches, and using the matching die, cut it out. [Well that's unfortunate, both these are retired!]  I off set the flowers on one edge, and adhered it to the panel.  I cut out the circle, stamped it with Technique Tuesdays Fabulous [also retired].

I wrapped the packaging around the entire panel, taped it down [leaving the top open], and filled it with pretty sequins. I closed off the top, and this shaker panel was complete. It needed something, so I added the framing onto the shaker panel, and finally adhered all to the card base.

Excellent sketch Challenge!

A Couple of Challenges

Once again, those emails are drawing me in - such great challenges!

Let's start with the sketch from MFT #606.  I also entered this into a few others; Krafty Chicks #624; Christmas, and, CAS Christmas August Challenge; Pine

I used the Tim Holtz Big Greens Dies for the "pines", and an older Spellbinders Pointsetta Die for the flower.

I put on some glue, and sprinkled on glitter for a little added shine, and lastly, I used a Christmas Sentiment Strip from Simon Says to finish off my card.

-------------------------------------------------------

I came across this video for creating this card and I had to try it!  It made for a stunning background, while still keeping the card CAS.  Works for me. Entering also into Beyond the Blue #67; sequins and glitter.

This was [what I feel] my best one. [Probably because of the gorgeous Peacock Feathers Pearl Mix I used from KatScrapiness] However, I didn't stop at 1!

These were really fun to make -- mailing them?  Yeah, that will be the challenge~

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

2 Fun Challenges

I got a couple of inspiring challenges in my email and simply had to play along!

Let's start with the Just Add Ink #615 - inspiration photo.  It so talked to me!

I love these colors together!  I used a water colored panel [from my stash] and cut out some of the fun leaves from the [retired] MFT Wild Leaf Greenery.  I don't have any vases, but I used some lantern dies that I have, and WHOA - perfect!  I couldn't of been happier with my "vases".

I used a Simon Says Sentiment Strip to finish off my card.

---------------------------------------------------------

I went on to play in CAS on Sunday #237 - Enamel Dots. I went a searching -- I had a TON, and I do mean a TON, of sequins - very few enamel dots.  However, I found just enough to complete my card - so yay!

I used the Stamps of Life Happy Birthday Word Dies for layering, and added in the enamel dots.  It's a win for me having had the dots in orange since they went with the mix of colors on my card!

I'm loving this end result~

Thanks Challenges - I had a ton of fun 😀

Happy Little Stamper Stencil & Addicted to CAS Challenges

This doesn't happen often, but I am combining 1 card for 2 DT challenge cards.

It helps that the Happy Little Stamper August Stencil Challenge is always anything goes [You are getting an early start too since I am posting early].  With the Addicted to CAS #226, being tropical, it worked perfectly.  I used a stencil for the clouds.  I am also entering this into the {PIN}spirational Challenge #292; Photo Inspiration.

I sponged on the clouds, and the beach, and then used a really old stamp set from Gina K, Aloha, and a sentiment from an Inspired By Stamping Seaside Sentiments.  I am happy with this mini slimline card.
I did use the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Double Stitch Dies for the panel.

Meanwhile, come on over and join in the fun!!

Just Us Girls Challenge #644 - Word Week

I'm the Hostess for the challenge this week.  I hope you play along - the gallery filled with butterflies should be really pretty!

I used a Lavinia Circle Mask Stencil to sponge on layers of Distress Oxide Inks; Blueprint Sketch, Prize Ribbon, and Iced Spruce. I used some unbranded dies for the foliage, and the Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die.

That's it for my butterfly card.  Your turn!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge #644 and play along!

CASology Challenge #406

I will say that this time of year I am loving the challenges!  Summer, beachy, nautical - yep all about that!  CASology #406 is Sand.  Works for me.

I do adore beach type cards, and, using real sand!  Yep, that's real sand on the bottom panel.  So fun :)

These fun shell dies [Spellbinders] have come in very handy this season, along with the sentiment from an IBS Seaside Sentiment stamp set. [sigh - I so miss this company].

Well, that was a great challenge!  Thanks CASology :)

Seize the Birthday Challenge - No Stamping

Well, this was fun!

My first thought when I saw this challenge was die cuts.  I went a completely different route, and it's not even cheating! 😀

I used a PNG image from PNGWing [Such amazing freebies on this site!], and printed on my computer the sentiment.

For added interest I scored some lines for texture.  Needless to say, I love how this turned out - and, no stamping at all!

Your turn.  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  Remember, while the no-stamping is optional, being a birthday card is not.  Have fun!

The Male Room Challenge #165 - ATC

Oh yes!  I love me some ATCs!

I just made 1 today.  While I do love ATC's, I never know what to do with them! I have used them as bookmarks, and baggage tags, but besides that....what?  What do you do with your ATC's?

(To better see this, I only did a large blow up of the photo.  Extra large was totally in-your-face close.)  I started by adding texture for the base with an embossing folder.  I dug through my water color panels, found this rainbow, and ripped it to size. Stamped a few sentiments for added interest, and went on to cut the [unbranded] die out, the feather, and trimmed the sentiment, and adhered all to the ATC base.

Yep, I do love the rainbow backing with the stark black.  Screams masculine to me!

Your turn!  Come on over to The Male Room Challenge, and show us your masculine ATC.  I'm looking forward to the gallery for this challenge!

New DT Team! AAA Birthday Challenge

I'm on a new Challenge Team!  This challenge requires birthday cards, and since 90% of my cards are birthday, this team is an awesome fit!

For my card today, I used what I call the "Shayne Style".  This guy's cards are stunning, and I love to use his style for my cards!

I used a sentiment from Simon Says Sentiments Strips.  [These are so much easier 😀] I'm adding this into Simon Says Monday Challenge - Happy Birthday.

Your turn!  Come on over to the AAA Birthday Card Challenge #40 and play along!  This is an easy one with Anything Goes!  Don't forget to leave some love for the team and our Guest Designer; Nance.
