Just Us Girls Challenge #694 - CAS Week

The gallery should be really cute with this challenge!  I went digging through my baby drawer and came up with these adorable dies!  Yep, they totally make me smile.

Seriously, is there anything cuter then baby feet 😁?  I think not.  I looked for these dies, no luck.

The sentiment is from an old Sizzix stamp set, Lori Whitlock.  [It's on Ebay]

Okay, your turn!  We hope you join in JUGS #694 CAS Challenge - baby.

Just Us Girls Challenge #643 - Wild Card Week

I always enjoy this type of challenge.  I'll be honest, a lot of my cards, while maybe not CASED, are definitely inspired by other stampers!

For my card today, I am choosing Cécile Ribon, one of the JUGS Team members.  Every week I am impressed with her cards, and I adore her CAS style. Since I have been on a CAS roll for a few weeks now, she is my muse.  I chose THIS CARD.

I used a really old [20 years?] Stampin Up stamp.  I inked it with oxide ink, spritz with water, and stamped.  [On a side note, I plan on going through ALL my old stamps, and re-organize them so I WILL USE THEM!  Golly, I have some really nice images that haven't seen the light of day in eons!] Considering I used regular card stock [over water color paper], I was happy with the result.

The thicker branch die is from Sizzix Big Greens, and the other one is ??? - we'll just say unbranded [since I have no idea!].  The HB is from [no surprise] a discontinued Happy Little Stampers set, Doodled Flowers.

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to JUGS Challenge #643 and play along!  I look forward to seeing who you CASE.

Fusion Card Challenge and Clean and Simple on Friday #231

I was inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge photo for the At the Movies Challenge.

Rather then use film strip, or something movie, I went with a title; Dad.  [It's an oldie, but goodie.]

And, like I said, I was inspired by the photo.  I used up some scraps, a discontinued Sizzix stamp set, and retired MFT Letters for the red dad.

You can see how I was inspired :)!

I went on to join in at Clean and Simple on Friday #231; Butterflies - I am definitely liking this challenge a lot.  I love CAS, and choosing topics I like.. yeah, that's a go-to for me.

I used the Freshly Made Sketch #535. I thought about coloring the butterfly [Hero Arts Antique Flowers & Butterflies], but decided against it.  I like the color combo of the designer paper I used, and liked the look of the plain bfly with it, so I kept it as is.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Clean Lines Everyday.

This card is for the son and daughter in-law.  They are going on a huge motorcycle trip [which I mention with this post] -- Now I have a card to put the ATC's in!  Perfect.

Thanks Challenges!  I had a great time.

Just Add Ink #602 & Less Is More #464

I'm joining in a couple of more challenges today. Let's start with Just Add Ink #602 - Choose 2. I came across the KatScrappiness Condensed Number Dies in my stash, and wanted to use them for my card.  I love these numbers!  They are so big, but still work perfectly on cards!

For my choices, I picked stenciling and embossing.  I used a Dylusions stencil that I have had for years.  I think I have used it once before - sheesh - and naturally, it is no longer available.  However, I still loved the number portion!

I used Peacock Feathers, and Jaded Jeans Oxide inks, and sponged a top and bottom on the numbers.  Then, I took my Versamark ink and smooshed that over the stencil onto the numbers.  Once I had good coverage, I heat embossed them in Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder. [You can see it in the photo].  I like the texture it gives the background.  I cut the happy and 55, layering both 3 times for dimension, and adhered these onto the embossed background - after I cut a square frame.  This card is a 4x4.

-----------------------------------------------------

I went on to play in the Less is More Challenge #464 - Use a Tag.  I have said it before, but it bears repeating - I LOVE TAGS ON CARDS!  I love including a small gift when I send cards, and a tag works perfectly!

I started with a tiny die cut, added the adorable tiny hearts [layered 3 times], added some fun twine, and adhered to the middle of the card.

I knew I needed tiny sentiments, so to the rescue, Lawn Fawn Simply Winter Sentiments, and Oh Gnome.  I have to say, this card totally makes me smile! This won SHOWCASED.

Thanks Challenges - I had fun!

A New Challenge

I came across a new challenge; Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #1.  They had a mood board that made me play along.  I had the perfect products!  Here is the mood board:

And here is my card:

I started with a "wood" tag [score, cover with ink].  I used Paper Sweeties Stitched Tags #2, and stamped the design with STAMPlorations Nordic Knit Tag.  I used the [super fun] Snow Marker. [Apply, heat up with a heat gun, and it becomes poofy! So fun.]

I cut out a couple of the ivy from Tim Holtz Sizzix Big Greens Thinlits for the greenery, and added a Simon Says Christmas Sentiment Strip. [I just love these strips].  That was a fun challenge!  I do enjoy mood boards -- so inspiring.

Thanks Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge - I had fun. 😀

Addicted to CAS Challenge #164

How bizarre is this?  Just the other day I was thinking about a die I purchased like 10 years ago, and how I loved it at the time [with the sample card I saw that some designer had created of course], but I have only used it once. [good grief] -- Anyway, when I saw the code word for this challenge, this die came instantly to my mind!

I'm sure a lot of you recognize this Sizzix die [from all those years ago].  It was perfect for my card today.  While there is no stamping, I do still like this die cut card.

Alrightly then, your turn.  Come on over to the Addicted to CAS Challenge and play along.  I'm sure we will see beautiful floral cards for this challenge.
