Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #50

This week on Speedy the Cat's Challenge Blog, Harriett challenged us to use the Emboss Resist Technique on our cards.  I saw this from a magazine, and instantly thought of Speedy.
I had to look, but I knew there was a big Speedy in one of MFP's set - sure enough -- Tweet Blessings.  Fun little card!  I hope you try this technique and upload your card to Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge!!  While you are there, please note we have changed the prize package!!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #47

{Looking for GKD blog hop click here.}
This week on Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge Karen killed me!  Have a round card with 3 pastels and 3 bling.  I really do not like pastels,  They look pretty when other people make them, but mine yuk - phooey - yuk. (lol)  I don't do round very often either (though I have done that), I do like the bling though!  So 1 out of 3 works, and it isn't called a challenge for nothing!  I used the newly released Mark's Finest Papers Just Dandy.  Now this set - I LOVE! It is so my style! See how my colors just don't show up -- that is why I don't like pastels - just too light for me!
Pop on over to Speedy's challenge and play. Be sure to check out the awesome prize package!  Very exciting stuff!!

I hope :).  I used the newly released MFP stamp set Just Dandy.  I love the bfly on this set, actually I really love this entire set - nature! Yep, I am there.  Come on over to Speedy's Blog Challenge!  I would love to see you play~  Thanks for stopping by~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #45

This week, we are introducing Colleen Dietrich as our newest Team Member over at Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge.  This week, Colleen has challenged us to using the bleach technique.  Well, I will be honest, I have never done this technique, and really would never have used it if it wasn't for our newbie! :)  However, I must say it was kind of cool watching the image appear on my paper.  I used the soon to-be-released (Tuesday, March 8) MFP stamp set Just Dandy.  Interested in trying this technique?  Well, come on over to Speedy's Challenge and upload your creation!  This is also the first week of the grand prize package of being a Guest Designer for Mark's Finest Papers!  This layout is from Clean & Simple 130.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #42

This is my week at Speedy's challenge and I have made a sketch.  I told you the challenges were going to get harder.
However, in my case a sketch makes my card making much easier.  Here is my sample:
I used the new MFP stamp set Greet the Day with Gerber.  All supplies for this card were made from Mark's Finest Papers!  That white card base - Storm Snow is TO DIE FOR!  So nice and thick (100#), and smooth - perfect for copics.  My bg paper is Basic Grey Oliver Paper.  I really adore the thickness of the ribbon too!
Come on over to Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge and show me what you can do with this sketch!  Also, check out the new prize package ~ pretty exciting!  Thanks for stopping in ~

This week on Speedy's Challenge Joanne G is challenging us to have hearts on our cards.  I took it one step further and made it a heart shaped card!  Gotta love those nesties~~  I also used MFP's Hearts Hearts Hearts.  For my edged flowers, I used the heart shaped wreath on its edge.  I like the way it turned out.  I colored with copics, and textured with my friend Cuttlebug .  We would love for you to come on over to Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge and play!  See ya there~~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #37 - Emboss

This week on Speedy's Challenge, Geri challenged us to use embossing on our cards.  Here is a sneak peek of Mark's Finest Papers new stamp set Floral Tea:
As you can see, I embossed my images!  I love the textured look this set has now.  It looks realistic to me - what do you think?  I did use my new SU embossing folder for the texture.  We hope you come on over to Speedy's Challenge and join in the fun!!

SCS Sketch

Oh the sketch was so fun I had to play.  I love making cards with a bookmark!  It makes such a wonderful card and a small gift!  As you can see I used #3 as my bookmark after I flipped the sketch.  I have a tough time not following the sketch as drawn so I used my nestie Leaf die cut, which actually worked out perfect with the sketch, and using GKD The Giving Tree stamp set.  I used my new SU embossing folder - gosh I love the pattern that makes, and I did some sponging.  Actually, a very quick and easy card!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #25

Hi there!  This week on the SCF challenge, Geri challenged us to use stitching or faux stitching on our cards.  Well, you have seen and heard about my struggles with my sewing machine....so as you can see, I used faux stitching.  The other day I got an mail post from Dawn McVey - she had made ALOT of tags.. All that day at work, all I could think of was that post - I was so impressed.  Now, Dawn used all new items , but I on the hand [with the exception of the nestie tag,] used my scrapes!!  I loved making these, and the perk was getting to use up some of my scrapes! (Oh yea, I have a bunch left over still-lol)  The Merry Christmas is from MFP Greetings of the Season.
Thanks for stopping by~~

Speedy the Cat's Frends Challenge #16

Hi there!  [Don't forget to sign up for my blog candy~~click right side picture for details]  This week for SCF Challenge is REALLY easy - flowers.  You can thank Joanne Grezlak for this easy week~~  I made another tissue paper scrunch flower.  These are so relaxing for me to make...  Punch about 8 layers of tissue (folded over and over - punch once) - punch a hole in the middle, stick in a brad and scrunch up the individual layers of tissue - fold up tight - when all done, re-open up - very easy.  It is even easier when using tissue paper - so thin for easy scrunching!  I then tapped ink around the upper edges for some depth.  If you need a visual, I would try Utube "scrunch flowers.  I know there will be a ton~~ My bird is from the MFP Tweet Blessings. We sure hope you join us over at Speedy the  Cat's Blog Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #15

To see the new Team. head on over to  Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge and check them out!  What a fabulous team we have~~  This week the challenge per Joanne Travis, is make your own embellies.  Instead of picking hand made flowers (which I did 2 days ago naturally), I went with making Speedy the Cat an embellie, and made a set of cards.  I stamped him 4 times and cut him out and mounted him on the cards.  That worked for me, plus I got a nice set of cards (for someone)!  This particular Speedy is on the Tweet Blessings stamp set to be released next week, August 10th!!  Meanwhile, come on over and play - this week is a little harder but I have complete confidence you will all aspire to the challenge!!  Thanks for stopping by,

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #14

WOW!  I can't believe we have been doing SCF challenges for 3 months!  This is the last week for 2 of the Team Members, so the challenge is dedicated to them - make a thank you card.  Now how easy is that? I sure hope you enter your card in the challenge over at Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenges! - remember, every 50 entries earns another winner, and if you use MFP stamps, you are entered twice.  Hope to see you there..  Thanks for stopping by~~
