Seize the Birthday - Cake

Sometimes I just chuckle.  ALL the stamps I have, and only 1 cake image?! - which, I don't like.  That said, I came up with a card that totally works, and I am happy with it.

I just love this STAMPlorations Cup"cake" digi. [See how I did that? 😀]  I love to make it giant so it fills up the entire card.  Also that this card works for anyone - kids, male, female!  Win-win there.

I used the ARTplorations Leaf Print stencil for my background, and then outlined it [within the stencil] with a ultra fine sharpie.  I offset it a little for some added interest.  I am loving this card to be honest.

Your turn.  Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  The "cake" is an option, being a birthday card is not.Hope to see you there.

Inspired By Challenge #189 - Guestie

Today I am joining in with the Inspired By Challenge as a Guestie invited by my blogging buddy, Lisa Elton!  How fun is that?!  I sure thought so :).

There are many choices for the challenge. You can be inspired by the photos, or the sketch, or mix it all up.  While I didn't use the sketch, I was inspired by the bottom photo.  I loved the color combo, along with the fun plaid ribbon.

I started using the MFT All Lined Background Cling Stamp to replicate the checked ribbon and cut it down for a side border.  Since I didn't have a "basket" or "pail", I used my [so dusty] Sizzix Birdcage die, which I think worked perfectly cut out of textured silver paper.

I also used another Sizzix Leaves Die and layered those under the cage.  Lastly, I cut the bird out of a water colored panel in my stash. [He came in handy to cover up the stems of the leaves] The sentiment is from Simon Says Sentiment Strips.

That was really fun!  I have always enjoyed inspiration challenges.  Thanks so much Lisa for inviting me to play along!  Now my Followers, it's your turn!  How do the photos inspire you?  Come on over to Inspired By Challenge and join in the fun!

National Coffee Day

It's National Coffee Day! The Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog has been celebrating all the past week.  Lots of sponsors, prizes, eye candy to be seen. Today I am celebrating with one of the sponsors for today's big sponsors hop, STAMPlorations.  I hope you have your coffee -- this is an eye candy post!

All these cards were made using the new [and so fun] Ephemera Fall for Coffee ATC's.  This is an awesome set of ATCs!

I used a sentiment from Kathryn's Big Wishes.

For this card, I used Dots All Over Stencil, Bubbles Stencil and Curvy Mini Stencil for the background, and a sentiment from Shine Bright stamp set.

For this card's background, I simply used water colors and a brush, and a sharpie for the faux stitching.  The sentiment is a sticker from Coffee Heaven Stickers.

For my last card, I used the Ovals Flexi Template for the background, the fun Doodled Coffee & Tea Colorables, along with a sentiment from the Coffee Happy stamp set.

That's it for me. Yep, there is a prize for one random commenter who leaves a comment on the STAMP blog and the different blogs listed over on the STAMP blog. The winner will get their choice of 4 coffee-themed paper goods ($28 value).   You can read all about those, along with more eye candy over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Have Fun!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #336

It's time for the STAMPlorations inspiration post.  Today I am using the lovely Mixed Media Spring ATC set again.  I just love this bird one!

I started by stenciling the background in a matching blue ink, using the Patches Stencil.  I framed the ATC with the same color as the card base, and lastly, I added a sentiment from Woodland Friends stamp set.

Have you ordered any of these card fronts, or ATC's?  I absolutely highly recommend them!  They are so fabulous in helping to create beautiful and fast cards.

That's it for me.  You can pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what my teamies have made.  Don't forget to leave a comment for the monthly prize.  Also, if you want, you can save 20% off your purchase by using my code STAMPGIRLVICKID.

STAMPlorations Fun Day

I took sometime this week end and just played.  No DT work, no stressing - just fun!  Hindsight, I probably should of found some challenges to join in.  Trying to build back my blog from the switch to Follow It has been a real struggle.  Long gone are my 1,000 Followers.  But I didn't, so the few Followers I have can at least enjoy today's post :)

I am once again using some of STAMPlorations Colorables.  This set is Doodled Blooms.  I am really enjoying using these cut outs.  They are so easy to color!

I started by using my Copics to color these fun flower images.  Then, I cut out a tag using Tag #1 Nesting Dies, and added some texture to it with the  Circles All Over Cover Plate.

Before adhering everything to my card base, I cut a 4 layer Hugs Word Die, then I adhered all to the base.

For this second card, I thought about just leaving the images natural, but what the heck, I wanted to try just sponging on color using a dauber.  I think it worked quite fine.

I started with using the Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Plate on the panel, and then glued and pop dotted some of the flowers randomly.  Finally, I used a 4 layer Celebrate Big Phrase Die, adding on some white pen dots.

For this 3rd card, I simply colored and adhered the fun images onto a card base.  Easy peasy - great end result!

I did grab a sentiment from Noteworthy 2 stamp set, and fussy cut it.

That's it for me today.  I hope you enjoyed my "fun" day.

Addicted to CAS #207 - Autumn

It's time for another Addicted to CAS Challenge.  Autumn is almost fully upon us so this challenge is perfect.

Once again, I went to my go-to image - the Hero Arts Fern.  I just adore the die.  I started with an inked sprayed panel [using autumn colors], and then cut the fern out, added a sentiment strip, and this CAS card is complete.

Your turn!  Come on over to the Addicted to CAS Challenge, and show us your Autumn card.

Just Us Girls Challenge #603 - Photo Inspiration

Ina did good with her photo!  I do like purple and wood grain for sure!

I used my Scor-buddy to score some lines, and used the direct to paper technique swiping purple and light gray for a wood grain look.

I used the lovely Simon Says More Spring Flowers New Beginnings stamp set [and matching dies] for my floral images.  I colored them with Copics.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says Sentiment Strips.

Your turn.  Come on over to JUGS #603 and show us how the photo inspires you!

Heartfelt Creations Alumni September Hop

It's time for the monthly hop of the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Team.  It's always so fun for me to create with HFC products and share my card with you all.

This month I went with a mini slimline card.  This one measures 3x6.  I love this size!  I used a couple of papers from the Wild Rose Collection which basically chose the color combo I wanted to use.

After adhering the dp, I cut the arch using the Elegant Swirl Gateway Die set, and then stamped and die cut the flowers from the Small Wild Rose stamp and the Small Wild Rose Die set.  The leaves are from the Small Classic Petunia stamp set, using the Small Classic Petunia Die set. [FYI - these are scheduled to be discontinued on January 5th or while supplies last]  Lastly, I used the sentiment from the same set, Small Classic Petunia.

That's it for me this month.  Below is the list of Designers participating this month.  Be sure and leave a comment on all the stops as there will be 2 random winners of 2 $25 gift certificate to Heartfelt Creations!

Have fun!

CAS-ual Fridays Day

It's time again for my CFS day here on the blog.  Today I fully utilized the fun Pinked Slimline Dies.  This set has many layers, and miscellaneous shapes to add to your slimline card.

It's getting close to that time of year where I send out lots of cards.  I need to get my stockpile built up!

So today, you get to see a Christmas card that was inspired from this photo from [my friend] Pinterest.

There are a lot of layers on this fun card, but it still is flat for easy [and normal cost] mailing.  I love that!

I used the Funky Flakes Dies for the snowflakes [2 layers each for dimensions], and used a sentiment from Snowy Sayings.

That's it for me today.  How are your holiday cards coming along?  Are you ahead of the game? ;)

I did use affiliated links in this post.  You can also save 15% off your purchase by using my code below.
