Just Us Girls Challenge #787 - Die Week

I do love florals!

Rather then making a card this week, I went with a tag.  [Yep, you  can do other projects rather then just a card for the JUGS challenges.]

The blank tag was just sitting on my desk - so I just used it!  I used some foliage dies, and also found this floral die cut, already completed in with the die, and yep, I used that too.  Oh yes, I did start with the stenciled background for some interest.

After hand drawing some faux stitching, and adding a sentiment, this tag was complete. I will include it with a birthday card as a small gift.

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #787 and show us your die floral card!  The gallery should be pretty.

Seize the Birthday Challenge #279 - Coordinating Tag

Making a matching tag is always fun as it adds a little gift into the birthday card you send!  My recipients are always happy with this little addition.

I used the fun Simon Says Fab Flower.  Love the layering of this cutie.

(It really is a birthday card see the inside below.)

And here is the "gift" I will include in this card;

This totally matches the card, and totally works for this challenge, and for me :)

Your turn - Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and show us your matching tag, or if you want, just make a birthday card - that works too.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #621 & Arty Divas - July

I ended up taking yesterday off.  Too many hours in my stamp room and I feel like a hermit!  I did get out of the house and do some shopping...yep, in the 110° heat!  It was brutal, but good to get out.

Anyway, Krafty Chicks Challenge #621 is spot on with my current run; CAS card.

I used a couple of unbranded dies, along with the [retired] Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Holiday Tree set.  I like these little trees. I inked up the trees and then spritzed with water for a faux water color.

Makes for a fun clean & simple Christmas card.

--------------------------------------------------------------

So, let's go to the opposite end of the spectrum - mixed media.  [Sometimes, it's just fun to get messy]. I got an email for the Arty Divas July Challenge; Anything Goes.  I jumped over to You Tube and watched a video by Susanne Rose Art making your own collage papers. [She is rather awesome with her creations!] I had all the supplies, so I got to work. Once my papers were done and dried, I started ripping and laying.

Oh my gosh!  I totally loved making this tag!  [I also am really happy with the choice of colors].  I did some random stamping on the background and actually did use the circle impressions cover plate for some texture - you just can't see it.

I used some more [unbranded] dies, using white for a shadow [to show up better] and the HB is from  [retired] Altenew Super Script.

Okay, that's it for today!  I'm thinking I might be taking the week end off.  Now, just to find something to do.  Any suggestions?

Reminder Post for TAGplorations Challenge #1

Have you played in the new TAGplorations Challenge yet?  This is your friendly reminder that it goes for the entire month, and you still have time to join in.  The challenge; All About Fall with an optional twist of Red, Orange and Gold.  You may use any product, but it must feature a tag.

Plus, I get to share another tag!  For this one [no twist this time],  I used the newly released Manila Tags.  I made a separate sheet of an Alcohol Inked pattern paper [see Loll's how-to video HERE], and cut out the Upper Case Alphabet letters from it.  I inlaid these letters into a kraft negative die cut.  I used the Art Edges for a small border, and adhered the Hugs Word Die.  I also cut out leaves, using Trendy Leaves 2 dies, from the alcohol sheet.

This will make a fun bookmark for someone :).

Now its your turn.  Like I said, this is a monthly challenge so you still have lots of time to play along.  You can load up your tag HERE on the TAGplorations blog. [Feel free to subscribe so you don't miss any of the future challenges]  At month end, the team will be voting on the Top 3 tags, and winners will be announced on the blog.  First place prize is a $10 gift certificate to STAMPlorations, and the other 2 top picks will receive a $5 gift certificate.  If there are more than 50 entries, 1 player will be randomly drawn to win their choice of any CUTplorations dies worth $20!  You may enter as many times as you want, just make them separate posts for linking to the challenge.

We hope you join in!

A New Challenge - TAGplorations

So, there is a fun new challenge starting up today called TAGplorations,  [Yes, it has been created by Shery Russ from STAMPlorations.] and I am lucky enough to be on the Design Team!

How does this challenge work?  It's so easy, you will love it!  Just make a tag.  Now, we will be suggesting a twist [which is optional], but any product can be used - however, you must feature a tag.  This is a monthly challenge that starts on the 1st Tuesday of the month.  See how easy? ;)

For the first challenge [#1], the challenge is All About Fall with the twist being using Red, Orange and Gold.

For my tag, I started with the Luggage Nesting Tags for my base.  On the inside layer, I clear embossed leaves from Trendy Leaves, and sponged on some oxide inks.  Using the Bubbles Stencil, I spread on some Inka Gold paste.  I then stamped some more Trendy Leaves, [cutting them out with my Silhouette] and layered them onto the tag base.  My sentiment is from Bloom Sketches.

I'm going to have fun on this team!  I use tags as a small gift inside of a birthday card.
Perfect team for me!

Now its your turn.  Like I said, this is a monthly challenge so you have lots of time to play along.  You can load up your tag HERE on the TAGplorations blog. [Feel free to subscribe so you don't miss any of the future challenges]  We will also be posting a reminder blog post the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  At month end, the team will be voting on the Top 3 tags, and winners will be announced on the blog.

Have fun!  I am looking forward to seeing the gallery~

Stamptember Fun with Hero Arts!

I started my day out watching a Tim Holtz video as he completed a tag from start to finish.  Wow, is he inspiring or what?!  Okay, let me back up a bit. - Simon Says is running a Stamptember Inspiration all month long.  It started with creating a Pin Board, and then through out the month you add onto your board, what inspired you during the month.  I found the SS Blog - subscribed, and I am looking forward to playing are/or being inspired.  I am also planning on throwing in items for a wish list -- DH will love the convenience of clicking though, buying and he is done with me for Christmas.

So I am joining in at Simon Says Any Goes Challenge.  OMGosh - there are over 600 entries!  But you know the ole saying, you can't win if you don't play.  It's worth it to me, plus I got an awesome tag out of the challenge.  Hero Arts Blog is running a challenge of using embossing.  Perfect!  I love texture on my tags and I just happen to have a Tim Holtz embossing folder that worked perfect. :)  Ready for some photos?

The Completed Tag

A Close Up of the fun embossing for the Hero Arts Blog Challenge.

Do any of you make tags?  What do you use them for?  My choice?  A bookmark, and actually, the last time I traveled I put one on my suitcase with a return label of information on the back of the tag.  That really did work out well since my suitcase is black.... I recognized the tag as soon as it popped out of the shoot at lugguage.

I am looking forward to this month and being inspired.  The perfect goal~
