Oh I had such an awesome time with my people! My sister is my best friend, so spending time with her is the bee's knees! We shopped and shopped and shopped and also laid in the sun. Being from Washington state she is pretty darn tired of cold and rain. Being in 70+ with sun is her idea of heaven! The disadvantage of people is you really can't stamp! So, today I dropped her off at the airport I will spend the rest of my day catching up on past and future designing I need to do.
I did some new to me techniques on this card. As you all know, I CAN NOT sew a straight line however, I just love sewing on a card - I love the look. Well, out there in blogland I have been seeing HAND STITCHING. Now, I know I can pierce a straight line (I have a Tim Holtz piercing ruler thank you very much) - how hard could it be sewing with the holes already pierced and straight! Guess what - NOT HARD at all! In fact, it was a very fun, relaxing technique to do. I wouldn't want to do this on every card - it is time consuming - but what a blast and I adore the end result! You will be seeing this again you can bet on that! I also tried the Polished Stone technique. Even though I didn't have any metallic re-inker, I was very happy with this result also! I did take my gold stamp pad and run it over the top. It gave off a nice, subtle shimmer. Here is a close up of that and of my hand stitching. (so fun!)
Okay, off to do another card -
This catch up is for the color challenge over at STV. Gina messed up (oh it is so nice to know everyone messes up sometimes :)) and had 2 different choices of colors - I went with Turquoise Sea, Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn. In stead of using the newly released GKD stamps, I went back in my file and pulled out the fun stamps from Quite the Catch (lobster guy) and Gifts from the Sea (sentiment). I also used my Nestabilities Seashell die cut. Just a little card, but fun!
Thanks for stopping in. I am so excited to be creating again! :)

Featured Stamper, STV Sketch, TLC
The Featured Stamper this week was unknown to me, however, she had a lovely gallery.
I made an attempt at rolled flowers. I forgot the last step of putting a pearl in the center~ shoot. I think that would of made this look much better. Oh well, I'll add them before giving this to someone. I used the GKD stamp set Hopeful Hearts. These round cards are fun to make.
This is for the Stamp TV Sketch Challenge. I used GKD stamp set Gleefully Your's. This really is a fun musical set~
This is for the TLC challenge over at SCS -- I haven't played this challenge in weeks! This week we were helping our mojo - pick a color challenge, a sketch challenge and a TLC challenge from the past. All that was left was to pick your image! Yep - easy enough. I used MFP's Sew What? this will be releasing on this Tuesday. My TLC challenge was sewing - faux or real. I attempted real -- OMG I so suck at using my sewing machine -- I went back to faux. I am in a rush (gotta get to bed) so this card I am thinking could of been better but it is what it is for tonight.
That is it for me today. Tomorrow starts the 4 day Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop. Stop on by and check it out~~
Thanks for stopping by-

Stamp TV Color Challenge
This is for the Stamp TV Color Challenge - black, yellow and a cool color - I chose green. On this card I also used the 300th sketch from over at SCS! 300! WOW - I'll be honest, I don't think I could create 300 different sketches. Anyway, I love the end result of this card, and also that it is a sympathy. I don't need it [yet], but I do like having a couple in my stash. I used the GKD stamp set Hope Grows.
Thanks for stopping by~~

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge Hostess... again!!
I'm baaaaaaaaaaack! Gina asked me to Host the STV Sketch Challenge again. Oh I am SO happy! I love making sketches. I changed it up a little this time. I will be making 2 sketches - 1 is geared to the beginner stamper and/or the CAS (clean and simple) design, and the 2nd is more complex for the intermediate/advanced stamper, or the beginner who wants to really stretch themselves! Here are my samples for week 1:
Here are my samples:
I used GKD Botanicals on both cards and added Vintage Backgrounds (along with cuttlebug texture - dots) on the intermediate card. I will be doing these comparative cards over the next month. My goal? To show how your cards can look good no matter what your skill level is, but to challenge you at the same time (if you want). I am looking forward to the uploads. Wanna play? Come on over to Stamp TV and join in (if you haven't already) - who knows, YOU might be the random drawn winner of a stamp set valued at 24.95 or less!! Hope to see you over at STV~~ Thanks for stopping by -

STV Challenges & Others
Gina K Designs - Stamp TV is having her new release challenges going on right now. There are 3 -I have done 2 and I am working on the 3rd one...maybe. Anyway, I wanted to get these posted so I don't get too mixed up on what I am doing. The first one is Theresa's challenge - use shading with a nestie. This is one of my favorite techniques - it just finishes of the sentiment so nice! It is also for my DH - it is our 19/24 year anniversary! (married 19 - together 24) - this sentiment is perfect for him! I used GKD Enjoy the Sunshine on this card. I even decorated the inside! (DH is so worth it)
This 2nd card was the color challenge by Jessica and also Just For Fun Color Challenge #24. I also used the sketch from Clean and Simple #105. Once again, I used GKD stamps, Botanicals.
Okay - so much for resting my eyes-- I am just to addicted to NOT stamp! MY eyes are burning though so I might just post tomorrow what I am working on. This print on computer is getting pretty blurry. Thanks so much for stopping by~~ See Ya!

A few STV Challenges
Wasn't impressed with the Inspiration Challenge over at SCS so I got myself caught up with STV challenges.
There is the sketch challenge
I used the Gina K Designs Tropical Flowers and Enjoy the Sunshine. Cardstock is from Papertrey. I finally broke down and bought a dots embossing folder! LOVE this tool!!
There is the Inspiration Challenge - by Brenda Turner
Are these colors gorgeous or what! My card should of been more white, but I just love the red and the olive green together. Card sketch is from Paper Craft Plant. A nice CAS design that worked perfect for my card! Butterfly is from GKD Enjoy the Sunshine again.
And last, the Christmas card Challenge - this week use your scraps. Well, I really have been meaning to use my scraps - this just made me do it TODAY! I love challenges like this - dig through, pick out what you want and before you know it your card is done! Gotta love these easy cards!
There are couple of challenges that I missed, but DH and I are going to Nanny McFee - HA! I loved the first one - just fun entertainment. So, I will see you all tomorrow!! Thanks for stopping by~~
ps - don't forget about the Blog Candy if you haven't signed up for it. 1 week left... (see right sidebar)

A few STV Challenges
Once again, I crammed to get caught up with STV challenges! At least this time I was only behind 3 challenges~~ Here they are:
Blast from the Past - make at least 3 flowers
I used Gina K Designs Lovely Labels - I love the fact they fit the spellbinders! I "borrowed" my cyber buddy Julia's idea of cutting out the inside and mounting it with pop ups. Actually, the more I look I actually CASED her card - I really liked that look. My scrunch flowers I used dp and ms punch for the butterfly. The bg stripes are a Hero Arts stamp - one of my favorites.
Inspire Challenge

I used the mirror paper to represent the mirrors, and the leaves are from Gina K Designs Hang in There. The sentiment is from Flourishes Timeless Quotes
And lastly - Christmas card challenge - use a die cut or punch
The Merry Christmas is a digi download I got last year - beautiful font!! A few ms punches and a few buttons from PTI and this puppy is done. Very CAS.
Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop starts tomorrow through Friday - come on over and participate and you could win a stamp set from next month's releases - Ooo they are beyond fabulous...

A few STV Challenges
So Ladies this is my newest July/August DT position. I don't know if you have ever seen Innovation Stamp Creations stamps but boy oh boy - do I love them! These images are just so realistic and gorgeous! This is my first attempt - and to be honest, I don't card for this card. I didn't do justice to this beautiful stamp! (The Tropics) However, the color challenge over at STV was blue and green so I went with it. When I get done I am suppose to mail these into Betsy, the owner. Not so much this one - maybe the next one... LOL

This card is for the STV sketch challenge. I fell in love with the sketch! I almost missed it - [to busy doing other projects.] So glad I was able to play with this one. I will use this again!! I used GKD stamp sets Hope Grows, illustrated by Theresa Momber and Take Flight, by Gina K herself. Papers are also from GKD; Cranberry Tart and Aqua Mist with white.

and, my last card (I am getting sleepy) is the Christmas Card Challenge. This week was "your own style" - since I really still have not figured out my "style" I just went with a sketch by CPS and used my fun snowman image by Stampendous. I think this guy is to perfect for the holidays. I also used my new Signature Christmas stamps from Paper Trey Ink. Love this handwriting by Dawn McVey.
Okay, that's it for today. Still getting ready for my vacation in 2 days! Lake Chelan here I come!!I am so excited~~ Thanks for stopping by~ Vicki

Inspire 25
This challenge was Gina's over at STV. Make a card on what you love about summer. Well, THAT is easy - the sun and ocean. Since living in AZ I don't have the ocean, I make a lot of beach scene cards. Once again, I made a beach scene with Zindorf's Direct to Paper technique. I follow her steps but what is so cool is my cards usually look different from her's. To me that is a good thing I don't like CASEing exactly, but I do love getting inspiration from all your cards out there. On my card I used GKD Lazy Days of Summer - what a fun set.
Okay peeps, that is my challenge for this am. Tonight is my last sketch challenge over at STV will be posted. I can't get over how fast 3 months went~ good grief. I am sure the new hostesses will have as much fun as my group did. If anything, it is pretty cool just to see the new stuff before anyone else - LOL. I am so glad to be back to stamping! Thanks so much for commenting~~ remember, I am trying to get 100 followers so I can give away some blog candy.....
