Just Us Girls Challenge #779 - Word Week

A friend of mine turned 90.  One of his Facebook posts had this saying.  Once I saw it, I had to make a card with it!  I am absolutely over the top with this card!

Isn't this fun?  I love that you don't use 90 - that just sounds so old! LOL.  This is a younger [nicer] way of stating this milestone 😀.

It's basic, but it packs a punch!

Your turn!  Come on over to JUGS Challenge #779 and show us how you use number.

Just Us Girls Challenge #765 - Die Week

Well, this is an easy challenge! [I like those.]  Just a reminder, this week's challenge has an additional step - a birthday card.  This challenge is not anything goes.

I went a searching and pulled out some [really] old Papertrey stamp sets and dies.  I also pulled out my Avery Elle HB die.  [I love the attached letters with this die!]

I wanted to try a stamped background, and I succeeded a little bit.  However, the colors I chose with the center and the bfly so did not work.  I re-stamped both images - die cut them out - and covered up what just didn't fly.  Since this is die week - that worked perfectly!

Blend inking up the HB, and adding black splatter finished off my card.  This sure is a different color combo for me.  I'm still on the fence...

Okay, your turn!  Come on over to JUGS #765 Challenge and play along.  Just remember to use a die, and it must be a birthday card this week too.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #256 - Monochrome

It's time for Addicted to CAS Challenge.  This challenge is all about monochrome.

I wanted to step outside my box and go for a color I don't use often at all; BRIGHT yellow. Well, I think I accomplished that!

I actually did use yellow ink too!  [Yeah, it turned out orange - well ok].  I used a few old favorite stamps of mine from Papertrey Ink; Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie II, and the matching dies. Of course, all all retired.

Yes sirree, it's an in-your-face BRIGHT card. Someone will love it.

Your turn - Come on over to the ATCAS #256 Challenge and join in the fun.

The Male Room Challenge #170 - Galaxy and/or Stars

A new year is upon us - it sounds so futuristic 2023.  Crazy right?!  I needed a masculine birthday card for my step son. This topic worked perfectly, especially with my new die from Papertrey Ink; Birthday Cover Plate.

I blended on distress oxide ink on a smaller panel, and added some white splatter [faux stars].  I added a cut framework around the panel, and adhered it onto a black card base.

I layered the cover plate with 2 layers [for added dimension], and adhered that onto the base.  I hope he likes his card - I really do!

Your turn!  You have all month to join in The Male Room Challenge #170 - we hope you play along!

An Inspired Post

I have been watching Natasha Foote's You Tube videos for a few months now.  She's like a mini Jennifer McGuire -- lots of fun techniques and cards, only [for me] easier to create.  That said, I took sometime today to just play.

For this first card, I was inspired by a couple of Natasha's videos; Use Your Washi Tape, and Four Panel Cards.

I covered the panels with some washi tape from my stash.  This will make a fabulous masculine card!

I also 3x layered the sentiment from Papertrey Ink, Birthday Wishes.  Love the larger size of this die.

For my 2nd card, I was inspired by Using Ephemera To Create a Card.  I got a package of ephemera from Altenew Blooming Ephemera in the goodie box I bought from Simon Says.

Really no explanation for making this. I simply adhered the 3 images together, and adhered onto a Memory Box embossed panel.  Can't get much easier then that!

Just a play date in the stamp room~

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Beverages

This is my get-ready-for-the-Coffee-Lovers-Hop that is coming the end of this month

I got this freebie from the FB page, and it worked perfectly for today's challenge. [Yeah, I searched where I got it and came up empty - SBT]

I printed out this free download [sorry not sure where I got it 😕], and cut it out with my Scan & Cut.

The Birthday Wishes Word die is from Papertrey Ink!  [I do love the font of this die].  I was surprised they still have it, AND, it is so reasonably priced!

That's it for me.  Your turn!  Remember, while the twist is optional, being a birthday card is not.  You can upload your card HERE.
