I am trying to send my son a letter/ card about every three days while he is in Navy boot camp. A good way to encourage him along.
I found [thanks Karen] this program called Tagxedo. It's pretty awesome - put in the words you want to "art graphic" and it does it! After a little placement, I made my "centered" one layer card for the challenge over at One Layer Wednesday. I realize it is not stamped, but I love the outcome anyway!
I think this is a pretty good encouraging card, and hopefully my son will appreciate it.

One Layer Wednesday
I just had to play in the One Layer Wednesday #99 challenge today -- Pinterest inspiration! Oh yeah - I am all about Pinterest :). Susan also had added 2 of my favorite CAS stampers - Karen Dunbrook and Ardyth Percy-Robb, as Team Members. Congrats Girls - you both are fabulous stampers! I have no doubt you both will be a wonderful addition to the OLW Team! Okay, off to my inspiration;
{photo credit}
At first I went to use my washi tape, but then thought - oops that would be a layer. I instead, using my word SU word punch, made a template for sponging. My first attempt I used the oranges, but decided I wanted turquoise instead. [I miss my turquoise] I like this card~ :) The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and I am also entering my card into the Hero Arts August Challenge for the Clean and Simple category. My flourish is Papertrey.
I just love this One Layer Wednesday challenge! It is just a perk my card worked out for one of my favorite stamp companies. :)

Mid Week Challenges
Oh my goodness, I almost missed my new fun challenge from A Blog Named Hero Arts; Topsy Turvy. Use a sentiment as something else.
I was able to use a couple of Hero Arts stamps that haven't seen ink! That was a bonus playing in this challenge. Bird with Long Legs [which I replaced with the sentiment] and Friend You're the Best
My background is spritzing. Stamp ink on acrylic pad - spritz with water - stamp on paper. I really love the technique - you never know what you will end up with!
Naturally, I had to play in the One Layer Wednesday challenge. This week, our Hostess, Jennifer is thinking outside the box, a shaped card! Was I on the same page or what! I really had no idea this was going to be Jen's challenge. LOL - So, apparently, you only get one card since my card for HA fits the OLW challenge!

The coffee cups are to perfect for her~. I used the fun There She Goes coffee set, Let's Get Together, along with the sentiment from Stamp School's, Women in My Life.

One Layer Wednesday
I am so HAPPY! The One Layer Wednesday Challenge is baaaaaaaaaaaaack!! They took the summer off, and while I think Jennifer and Susan thought it went fast, me on the other hand - not so much - I thought it took forevah from my favorite challenge to return!
While these one layer cards take less than 5-10 minutes to make, there is a challenge of sorts. The placement of your image, sentiment etc are important. You can have a terrible OLC, or a well balanced, pleasing to the eye card. Just ask the one layer card guru, Susan, over at Simplicity blog - she'll tell you, in fact check out this and this. SHE GIVES LESSONS on them! (well kind of - hints and statements anyway :)) Told ya, there really is a thought process for these fun cards.
Meanwhile, the challenge today over at Styles Ink One Layer Wednesday Challenge is a baby card. Perfect! One of my co-workers is pregnant! Because she is new pg and doesn't know the sex, I went with a soft, neutral green. I dug out my Stampin Up I'm Here set, and I used the fun technique of striping (with copics) my ribbon. Yep, stripes work for a baby.
I am working on a few other cards [for today] so I will probably be back. Thanks for stopping by~

3 Challenges = 1 card
This CAS card covers One Layer Wednesday 50- use an old stamp, PTI's Make It Monday 11 - emboss with a die cut, and Less is More 12- off centered. I love it when a card as easy as this covers all these challenges! My images are PTI Polka Dots Basics, along with Mark's Finest Papers Tweet Blessings. I just love this bird. I spritzed water on the dots for a lighter look - if you look close, you can tell.
Just kind of hanging out and playing with my stamps today. The weather here isn't great, so it makes for a good stamping day.
Edited:
I am popping this other card in here too. (Problem with hops -- they do tie up a blog :). Hopefully, when this sends out today you will get this one also! Perusing blogland today, I came across The Little Red Wagon challenge- use clouds. I thought clouds were the perfect card to make today, since it is cloudy in Arizona. I used PTI Butterfly Dreams, along with the die cut to complement this set.

One Layer Wednesday
This week on OLW Susan challenged us to use yellow. This is a color I do not use often so it worked out to be a challenge for me! I used some digital paper (in my computer files I had from Gina K Designs) as my card base. I kind of like it actually. Out of the norm for me. I used Mark's Finest Papers stamp set Hello Sunshine.
I made this for the SCS sketch challenge today. Actually, I made the card last pm - playing with clouds and vellum and old stamps (!) - I was so close to the SCS sketch that I went ahead and used it! I really loved the way this turned out. Such a masculine card~~ The image is a Stampendous stamp I have had forevah~~
The last of GKD previews tomorrow and than the Stamp TV RELEASE PARTY starts at 7pm (cst) - come on by and join in the fun! I am even hosting a color challenge for the party~~

One Layer Wednesday
I love the One Layer Wednesday challenge. It is so easy and stress free. This took what 5 min? I spent more time staging the photo than actually making the card! I love the card too! Sweet and to the point :). I used my new stamps from Verve, Heart to Heart. Because the card has SO MUCH white, I put in a colored background. I like the way it makes the card just pop!
I'll be back tomorrow with another Speedy the Cat's Challenge. Thanks for stopping in~~

CAS contest, Oldies but Goodies and OLW
I entered this CAS card into the CAS contest over at SCS to be on the Monday Design Team. Rules, you needed a CAS card, theme of a holiday (I picked New Year's) and a ribbon. Easy enough. I also entered this in the Oldies but Goodies challenge - use glitter. I like this challenge site because it gives me the opportunity to use my dust-collected stamps. This stamp is Annette Watkins from 1993! I totaly love the font!
This card took me almost 4 hours to make! Good grief but my mind would not see it! I just laugh when a CAS card is so difficult. The end result your like "Wow - that SHOULD of taken 10 min max!" I am putting this into the OLW challenge - she threw me by having inspiration pictures of cakes. I am happy with my end result though.

OLW and TLC
I love this set - so perfect for Arizona Christmas! This is for the OLW challenge. Jennifer has so nicely jumped in to host while Susan takes a break. Thanks Jen as I love this challenge.
This on the other hand--- a new technique/tool. Perfect Pearls by Ranger. To be honest I am not sure why I am even posting and uploading for this challenge. God awful - ugly is what I am thinking. However, it has inspired me to GET IT RIGHT and pretty the 2nd time! I will get it - I got copics didn't I??? Wow this stuff is bizarre-- I will do a comparisoin - with a much better attempt---later. LOL

One Layer Wednesday
I am heading out of town, but needed to get my stamping fix in. What better way then to whip out a CAS card! I can't thank Susan, over at Simplicity, enough for re-introducing me to clean and simple cards! They are just beautiful even though there isn't much to them! AND they are so fun to make!! I pulled out one of my really old SU sets Petal Prints, along with PTI Signature Greetings to make this card. I just adore foliage type cards.
I'll be back Sunday, but there will still be posts coming~~ I love being able to "schedule" a post~~ Have a great and productive week end everyone!! Thanks for stopping by~~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #20
WOW! My internet went down.... can I just say I hope THAT never happens again! I am seriously addicted to my internet.... withdrawal is NOT fun~ LOL. Speedy's challenge is up and running now also. Faith picked the winners from last week (and posted) Congrats to ALL winners from the 4 days of hopping and the 2 additional winners from SCF challenge! 6 WINNERS last week! WOW! A huge thanks to Faith for the MFP sponsorship!
This week is Fall colors. Though I am still into summer (it went to fast for me) I forced myself to make a fall card. On the other hand, it was easier since I used the new MFP set Autumn Fun. This basket of leaves does remind me of being a child and jumping in the pile of leaves my dad would rake up! Notice I said my dad - if I raked them I certainly wasn't about to jump in them and have to rake a second time! lol. I colored the leaves with copics - I really do like the blending effect of copics. We sure hope you join us over at Speedy the Cat's Friends Blog Challenge! Remember, you might possibly win a complete Mark's Finest Paper's stamp set!
Here is a quickie card I made for the One Layer Wednesday Challenge over at Susan's blog. It was suppose to be a "touch of color" - I might have over done the "touch", but I love this card! I love the simplicity, along with the touch of elegance (rather than a touch of color - lol). Hopefully, Susan will be okay with this card. Actually, I don't think it really matters since there is no "prize" - we just play for fun - and I have a blast with this CAS OLC (clean and simple, one layer card) challenge!

One Layer Wednesday #18
I really have been making cards, but it's all for future postings! So you didn't think I gave up on my blog (hee hee) I whipped up this quick little card for the One Layer Wednesday challenge. I have really gotten into the CAS style of cards since I found Susan's blog. All her little tricks and tips have really made it much easier for me to make CAS cards. I used the soon to be released MFP stamp set Broom Rides. Wait until you see the entire set! Fun stuff. (The blog hop is next Tuesday-Fri) Thanks for stopping by~~

One Layer Wednesday
I have to laugh, this day is going really slow for me - highly unusual! I am on such a roll with cards that I just keep uploading them for the challenges I want to play in. This is a good day! I almost forgot about the One Layer Wednesday challenge. This is the quickest challenge out there I swear! One layer stamped and you are done.. so, here is mine. I just had to add the ribbon - I felt it was just too much white. I was going to do this in orange... just to see what it would look like....hmm... I'll be back in a minute...

[These are using a sneak peek from Mark's Finest Papers, Broom Rides]
I think I like the...... white one. What do you all think? LOL - Not that it matters, I still have 2 and I don't even do Halloween! Anyone want a couple of Halloween cards? Let me know and I will mail them to you!

One Layer Wednesday & CAS-tastic Challenge
This card is for OLW9 and CAS-tastic 8. These 2 challenges are just too fun for me! Since I started to play in them, I can't seem to stop! (I even WON last week at CAS-tastic!!) LOL - it's so relaxing to make a CAS card - especially a one layer CAS - stamp, stamp, a little bling - DONE. Oh simply to fun! hee hee. I was at Big Lots yesterday and found packages of peel & stick rhinestones - 300 in each for 50 cents! Sheez - I bought them all!! Let's see me and gems?.....ya think?? LOL. Then, at the $1 store I found little inchie jars (with lids) to hold all these fun little rhinies! Did I have fun or WHAT! Oh yeah. Wanna see em?... They're so little and cute! LOL
Thanks for stopping by - I am going to further re-organize my stamp room. Again, I am out of space! LOL. Bye~~
