My Last Speedy's Challenge

Yes, you read the title correctly - After careful consideration, I decided that coordinating Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenges for a year was enough (and my plate is pretty full lately). Sadly, I have decided to say good-bye.  This card is dedicated to all of you stampers who have at one time or another, played in Speedy's Challenges.  I appreciate the support you gave me. THANK YOU~
Appropriately, I am also hosting this last challenge - use a hat pin.  On my card, I used the pretty MFP set Bearded Iris.  Did you know Mark's Finest Papers carries gorgeous hat pins? I'm telling you, MFP has such an array of items -- they need to change the name to "Mark Has It All" ~ lol.
I would love to see you play in my last Speedy's Challenge -- I comment on everyone's card -- I always felt that was part of my job, supporting all the players.  [I know what comments mean to me!]
Thank you again, it has been a pleasure coordinating the Speedy the Cat's Design Team and challenges, and I will miss you all!
Thanks for stopping by~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #51

This week over at Speedy's Challenge, Harriet challenged us to make a Collage Card.  Oh WOW I loved this challenge.  It's like my 3 stamped layered background without the embossing.  I had a blast making this card!  I just adore the look.  I used MFP's newly released stamp set, Garden Fairies and the music score is from Musical Holiday.
Come on over to Speedy's Challenge and play along~~ we have also changed the prize package!  Check it out~~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #49

This week, Geri is challenging us to spotlighting an animal.  I used the MFP stamp set African Veldt.  This will work for a masculine card -- retirement maybe?  I made a template of one of the new nesties I got, to get the shape on the card with my sponging.  I did a dual spotlighting - you have to really look to see them.  Not one of my better cards (I am out of time and wasn't in the mood to stamp - ever have one of those days? HA!)  I am sure you can do better -- come on over to Speedy's Challenge and show off your creation!  This week starts another month for our grand prize winner!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #43

Last week must of been to hard.  We hardly had anyone playing -- this week is easier.  Joanne G has challenged us to use black, white + 1 other color, along with having piercing on our card.  Here is my sample, made with Mark's Finest Papers new release He is the Lamb.
I found this layout in blogland somewhere - gosh I just loved it!  I used a hint of black with this challenge, which works for me!  Come on over to Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge and check out the other DT's, than play along!!  Thanks for stopping by~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #41

This week on Speedy's Challenge.Geri challenged us to use SELF MADE FLOWERS. As you can tell, I did the rolled flowers in felt.  I am really liking the texture of felt on a card.  I also did something I haven't done before - I created this card from different challenges!  Here they are:
Do You Stack Up - Red Hot
Eat, Sleep, Stamp - sketch
Moving Along with the Times - red
Outlawz - use Flourishes
Sassy Studios - Heart

Not as many as some of you use out there, but that is a lot for me!  I cut my heart out with the sheet of adhesive and tried to cover it in glitter -- that didn't work as well as I thought it would, so I added red glitter glue over the top.  I wanted a really sparkly heart.  My flourished background is the crayon resist technique.. My Love sentiment is a sneak peek of MFP's new set Spring has Sprung (released 2/8).  DH kind of hesitated when I asked him if he liked it -- hmmm... oh well I am happy with it :).

Please join us over at Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge and use self made flowers on your card.
Thanks for stopping by~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #36

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  May 2011 be heaven for all of you!  My goal for this year?  To get published.  I just have to make some cards and get them sent in!  I can't show them [until they are rejected or actually published] that is hard for me-- I like sharing with you all!!  What are your craft goals for 2011?

Wasn't real sure about this card - I kind of kept adding to it - and this is the end result.  Okay - but, yeah - okay.  Speedy's challenge this week is to use a new item.  I used my new Spellbinders Calibur scallop die.   I just needed a little bit - this die is HUGE - like 12" but that's okay, makes it easier to line up.  I used MFP's Hearts, Hearts Hearts stamp set.  I really like the hearts in this set.  The lace is also from MFP.  We hope you come on over and play at Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge!  Just FYI this will be the last month of easy challenges.  We are going to be stepping it up!  Be prepared-- it might actually turn into an actual challenge site!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by~~

I wanted to share the new addition to our family!  Please meet Dalila and Chevy, along with DH and morning hair (lol - he would kill me if he knew I posted this! lol)  They are a lot of work, but they sure are fun!!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #31

This week on Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge, I challenge you to have a ribbon on your card.  LOL - SO EASY~~  I just have to laugh - by making these challenges so easy I make work for myself!  How you ask?  Well, I feel when you host a challenge, you should comment on your players cards~~ since I am the Coordinator of SCF, I feel I need to comment on all of your uploads.  On one hand it is good because I get exposure to all of the cards - on the other hand , I probably average 2-3 hours (!) a week commenting.  Give and take I guess - we like all of you playing so I will keep commenting~~
On this card - [oh did you notice I tried a colored background! - what do you think?] I used MFP stamp set Christmas Postage Due.  I haven't used this Santa before and I really think he is quite the handsome chap, especially with this terrific sketch by Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #101.  I used liquid applique on his hat.
I hope you pop on over and play in Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge.  Thanks for stopping in~~

Speedy's Challenge

This week on Speedy the Ca's Challenge, Geri challenged us to use a circle.  Well, I did - in fact, I used a lot of circles!  I saw this card in blogland (I really need to remember where I saw these cards I CASE - my bad)  It was so perfect for this challenge I had to make it.  Just a fun little card.
I made a 2nd card just because I had the time, and this idea popped in to my head so I wanted to make it.  Couple of circles, and I used the adorable penguin from  A Time to Chill, along with the brick wall from Brick Wall released this month.  I really like this wall stamp - it just works so wonderfully as a background.  So, come on over and join in with Speedy's Friends.  Gosh, we make it so easy for you and for every 50 entries, there is ANOTHER random winner!  I hope to see you there~~
Thanks for stopping in~~
edited - I uploaded these for Crazy 4 Challenges too - they also want circles!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #26

This is our 6 month anniversary over at SCF!  How fast did those 6 months go!  Good grief!!  Faith was nice enough to issue the challenge this week - use a die cut.  Simple and straight forward.  I used the nesties leaf die cuts and a small circle punch.  This sketch is from Clean & Simple.  The sentiment is from the MFP set Thankful for You.  Come on over and play at Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge - you could be a winner!

Today is my very first ever craft sale!  I  am very nervous that no one will buy anything - how devastating would THAT be~~ wish me luck.. I will let you know how I did~~  Thanks for stopping in~~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #24

This week over at SCF challenge, Joanne Grezlak has challenged us to use stripes on our cards.  This was fun!  I used GKD's "Distressed Stripes" technique and subtly put them on my card.  This is also a sneak peek for MFP's newest release (Oct 12th).  Come on over to Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge and play!  You could be the winner of a MFP stamp set!!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #20

WOW! My internet went down.... can I just say I hope THAT never happens again!  I am seriously addicted to my internet.... withdrawal is NOT fun~ LOL.  Speedy's challenge is up and running now also. Faith picked the winners from last week (and posted)  Congrats to ALL winners from the 4 days of hopping and the 2 additional winners from SCF challenge!  6 WINNERS last week!  WOW!  A huge thanks to Faith for the MFP sponsorship!
This week is Fall colors.  Though I am still into summer (it went to fast for me) I forced myself to make a fall card.  On the other hand, it was easier since I used the new MFP set Autumn Fun.  This basket of leaves does remind me of being a child and jumping in the pile of leaves my dad would rake up!  Notice I said my dad - if I raked them I certainly wasn't about to jump in them and have to rake a second time!  lol.  I colored the leaves with copics - I really do like the blending effect of copics.  We sure hope you join us over at Speedy the Cat's Friends Blog Challenge!  Remember, you might possibly win a complete Mark's Finest Paper's stamp set!

Here is a quickie card I made for the One Layer Wednesday Challenge over at Susan's blog.  It was suppose to be a "touch of color" - I might have over done the "touch", but I love this card!  I love the simplicity, along with the touch of elegance (rather than a touch of color - lol).  Hopefully, Susan will be okay with this card. Actually, I don't think it really matters since there is no "prize" - we just play for fun - and I have a blast with this CAS OLC (clean and simple, one layer card) challenge!

Speedy the Cat's Frends Challenge #17

Geri this week has challenged us to make a Harvest Theme card with Speedy the Cat's Friends Blog Challenge.  I used the MFP stamp set Pears & Hollyhock.  I like this pear - it is easy to color (I used copics this time) and I like the nesties leaf I used and sponged.  Come on over and play with Speedy's Friends~~ You have a chance to win an entire stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers!
Thanks for stopping by~~

Speedy the Cat's Frends Challenge #8

This week Claudine challenged us to do embossing on our card.  To be honest, I do not usually have good luck with embossing - I can never get it "clean" enough.  I don't have an embossing buddy, but my girlfriend told me a USED dryer sheet does the same thing~~ go figure. [ It does work!]  On my card, I used the MFP's soon to be released stamp set [July] "Southwest Cowboy".   I embossed the horses, and than did both sponging and direct to paper technique.  [Direct to Paper is when you take your inkpad and rub the corner directly on to your card stock - I love this technique - the results can be just outstanding!]  I used a reverse punch for my sun and last step was stamping the Cowboy.

I hope you come over and play in Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge this week.  Remember, for every 40 entries, there is another weekly winner!  One Mark's Finest Paper stamp set - FREE!  Nothing wrong with free~~
Thanks for stopping by -see you tomorrow..

Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge #7

This is for Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge - make your own designer paper.  I used the MFP set Chicken Scratch for my background and colored it in with copics.  My carnation is from Ladybugs & Carnations again, colored with copics, and the sentiment is from Pears & Hollyhock.  All papers used are also from MFP.  I sure hope you come on over and play with Speedy's Friends.  For every 40 entries we get, we pick another random winner - the prize?  AN ENTIRE Mark's Finest Papers STAMP SET!  We had 2 winners from last week! (click over to see who won) How fun is that!
