Hi everyone - it's For Your Inspiration challenge time.  Step has once again chosen a stunning photo.

 

I saw this layout [frame behind the focal image and fell in love.  [Told you Karen I was going to use it!]  As par for me, I replicated the inspiration.  I do love doing scenes, and I think I captured the photo.  My Dare 2B Artzy sentiment from Sunshine Sentiments worked rather perfect for this card too.

I was inspired by the colors in this stunning photo.  I used my stamps from Inspired By Stamping; Washi Tape and Words of Inspiration.  I stamped my washi images on vellum - I love the effect of "real looking" washi.

It's FYI time.  I love this challenge.  We need all of you to start playing!  I have never seen a challenge that has to struggle to get players like this one.  Peeps - its a fun challenge - really! :)  I know, we have no prizes [bummer] but still.... it's fun to play, and we do vote on a winner.... 

Okay, here is this week's inspiration photo:

As you can tell, I picked up on the colors and the texture of the photo. I used the [oh so awesome] Dare 2B Artzy stamps from You.  I LOVE THIS SET!  It has been so perfect for making my son daily cards. However, this card will go with me when we see him graduate April 26th.  Right around the corner~

It's FYI time again!  This week, Steph went a tad darker with the inspiration photo.  That's okay with me -- I have a lot of brown paper that needs to be used! :)

I used the gorgeous border die from Simon Says, Circle Border, along with stamps from Kelly Purkey, Stamptember.  I am rather happy with this inspired card.

I am always shocked that the 2 weeks between FYI's challenges seems so long, but the weeks are just flying by!  Go figure, right?

I naturally picked up on the orange!  LOVE it!

I used GKD Stately Flowers for my poppies, and the leaves are a Sizzix die - Leaves.

We're Back! For Your Inspiration

Our challenge, For Your Inspiration, is back off hiatus!  While the break was good, I am ready to be inspired again by the gorgeous photos Stef finds. 

As par for me, I try to "remake" the photo.  I am not completely sold on this card -- The lighthouse is too solo.  So.......

I made a 2nd card.  With the help of Michelle Zindorf [gotta love her tutorials!], I made this card.  I like this card much better. A mixture of direct to paper and sponging, a little masking, this card is complete.  I used the fun images from GKD By the Sea

Another gorgeous photo from Stephanie!

 I thought about doing a scene, but changed my mind, and went with the colors instead.  I got this layout from somewhere in blogland.  I really liked it!  I am drawn to "clustering" on cards.  I used Papertrey's Harvest Berries [and dies] and Butterfly Dreams [and die].

For Your Inspiration #35

Once again, Step amazed me with the gorgeous photo she found

Is this a beautiful church or what?  Love the turquoise!  I thought I had some mirror paper in that color, but apparently... not. I did however have gold and navy blue, so I used those.

The biggest problem?  This mirror paper is a real bitch to photograph.!  I gave up after 4 times - this is it.  I ordered the Fancy Flourish die cuts from Papertrey, and the 2 squares of color are paint chips!  I love that!

For Your Inspiration #34

Gorgeous huh?  It sort of reminds me of a Fairy home.  However, I went a different direction;

I had fun spritzing with Smooch!  OMG this stuff is just so fun.  I used some random flourish stamp I had with white pigment ink for the leaves effect from the photo. My sentiment is Papertrey's Think Big #3.  Easy card, but I am thrilled with it~

Another fun photo this week from Step over at For Your Inspiration;

I picked up on the clouds, sky and trees, and used the fun new Gina K Designs set, The Good Life.

This trailer just makes me smile!  It also brings bak some fabulous memories of when we used to own a trailer and went camping 2-3 times every couple of months!  Gosh, I really miss that alot!  I was so bummed when we had to sell our trailer -- :(.  Anyway, interesting take from the photo -- not my usual style, but kind of fun.

For Your Inspiration #31

I procrastinated on making my card for today's inspiration. You know sometimes procrastination is a bad thing! I made this card and all was good.


I picked up on the colors and semi windows.  Using gold mirror paper, I tried to pick up the light reflection and I was okay with this card. (GKD Stars)

THEN, I remembered we are having a PRIZE give away from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. Therefore, I had to make another card! [This is where the procrastination is bad] - Because this is a digi, I had to print it. Naturally, my printer ran out of ink! Off to the store I ran to get more ink so I could make this card.


I wasn't happy with the intensity of the colors, so I embossed the entire image with clear embossing powder.  Still not real happy with my sponging, but I have to say, I really do like this image! (Love Conquers)

For Your Inspiration

It's that time again to be inspired by a beautiful photo from For Your Inspiration;

Love this beautiful beach!  Just don't see gorgeousness like this in Arizona.

At first I thought I would just re-create this scene, but that just isn't what happened after I saw the color combo over at Paper Players;

  

And, check this out!  I even finished off the inside of this card.

Not as pretty as the front, but I impressed myself by finishing the inside. :) I used a bunch of images to make this card- the "dad" is Sara England Design. I won this from somewhere a long time ago, and have never even taken it out of the package until today! The foliage and palms are from GKD Aloha and Vogue Vases. The sentiments are from Stamp School's The Men in My Life, and the mustache is from SP & Company Mustache Madness. Whew!  That's a list~
