I used one of my favorite sets by Shirley, Small Birds.  I love the sketchy-ness of the drawing, and coloring it loosely just works.  The fact he is rather rainbowy was a happy end result -- certainly not planned by me! ;)  I used a sentiment from Noteworthy 2.

STAMPlorations November Release - Final Day

Today is the final day of the November STAMPlorations, The Bee's Knees, illustrated by Shirley Bampton, Release.  For our final day, we are focusing on Layered Holly.

Again, I love the off-set of these layers.  [Yes, they are purposely made that way].  For this card, I used Memento inks for the ombre leaf effect, and some Ranger dye ink for the berries.  Once again, I also used the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die.

Oh this guy totally makes me smile!  In fact, as I type this I am laughing :).  He is too cute.  No explanation required for how I made this card, simply put him "together" and stamp.  I did use the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Dies, for my framing.

STAMPlorations November Release - Day 1

Today the STAMPlorations Inspiration Team is kicking off the new stamp set release for The Bee's Knees, illustrated by Shirley Bampton.  These layered stamps are 5% off through the end of the month, and yes, you can use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID, for an additional 20% discount!

Today we are focusing on Layered Leaves.

These fun, just off-set, layering stamps are really fun to play with.  For my card, I inked and spritz the image with water, for a water colored effect.  Using Ranger archival black ink, I then stamped the leaf outline.  I also used the Hello Word Die.

SCS Color Challenge #CC500

I can't believe we are on the 500th color challenge over at SCS!  I just passed my 4 year anniversary of being with this team.  I started back in October 2010, with challenge #293! -- WOW - that 4 years zoomed by!

In celebration of the 500th challenge, we are offering you your choice of "season colors".

Aren't these fabulous combinations!  Becky did good! 

Surprisingly enough, I didn't pick a season with turquoise! [Really?] Instead, I went with the Spring colors.  I was really drawn to the pastels.  

I love the Retro Sketch #136 to use with Bee's Knees, City Girl.  Hopefully I don't get you sick of this image - I love coloring this girl, plus, she is being pre-released!

Playing in Challenges

Finally, I stopped and re-started-- to play in some challenges today!  While I do love the different teams I am on etc, I find myself really missing creating for the other challenges out here in blogland.

Today I am starting with Tracy's Monday Mood Board #3.

 

I loved the bottom right photo - the graphics with the orange.  I simply had to use Shirley's new line; Bee's Knees [available through STAMPlorations]; City Girl.  Isn't she just awesome!  So classy, and I have been having a fabulous time creating with her [coming soon]. I am also uploading this at Happy Little Stampers for the October Sketch.  I can "see" the sketch in my card~

I also joined in with Time Out Challenges #16; CASEing Heather.

[This also works for Tracy's Mood Board - yay!]  Once again, I used Shirley's other new images from Bee's Knees; Rosebuds.  [So exciting for Shirley to be designing her own stamps, and awesome for me getting to design with them!] Here's Heather's card:
