This was a challenge for me as I usually don't use pastels. I like challenges that take me outside my comfort zone ;)
I started by taping of and sponging some ink on the background panel. With another panel, I used a die from my stash, and did some inlaid for one of the flowers. This die went in the trash after it took 6 panels to get it to cut through. It's defective, so its gone. [Too bad, as I really liked it!]
A snarky sentiment [lol] and this pastel card is complete. I am also entering this into the Paper Players Challenge PP556 - Tic Tac Toe. I did feminine, birthday, floral.
The STB gallery should look really pretty. Come on over to Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along. While using pastels is an option, being a birthday card is not.
Thanks for stopping by~

Very pretty! Love the striped background for the floral panel - and what a bummer that it's defective! At least you were able to get one clean cut for this gorgeous card.
Your card is beautiful Vicki. Sorry you had to trash the defective die. I love the die cut over the blended background. That sentiment is cute.
A wonderful way to use the die cut over the pretty colors done that way. Gorgeous!
Girl, you made me spit my drink and LOL literally with that sentiment! Love it! And your design is perfect!
You've embraced those pastels with both arms, Vicki this is lovely!
I love your diagonal panel! That sentiment is hysterical! Have a great day!
This is outstanding and I am glad that you persisted with a defective die. Love those bands of color in the background and the inlaid flower is super.
Love the diagonal background and those fabulous florals. Oh.. and the sentiment is hysterical! So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week

Love the pink stripes behind the florals, it is a pretty diecut and that sentiment is a hoot!! Cathy x
Beautiful, Vicki! I love the pastel diagonals. The die is amazing. It's too bad it was defective. The sentiment is a hoot! I am so glad you played with The Paper Players this week!
This has such a tropical feel to it even though it's not the traditional tropical colors. I wasn't expecting the sentiment. Thanks for the chuckle!
I gave out a little chuckle too when I read the sentiment. Hey, I almost resemble that remark. LOL! Sorry the die had to go away because it is really striking.
This is new to me - I've never seen this gorgeous combination of striped background behind a patterned die cut - but I'm loving this look! Too bad you had to dump it, but the combination along with the colors really looks fabulous!
The striped background looks cool behind the floral die cut. Great card.
