CutCardStock Day

I am bound and determine to have enough Christmas cards for this year.  Therefore, you get a twofer for today's cards.

To make these 5x5 cards, I used Classic Crest Bright White 130# for the base and embossed panel.  For the circle I used Bright Foil Gold and Glitter Red Flash.  Since I had to cut out 2 circles for the color variation, I ended up getting 2 cards.  I do love that!

While I adore the Bright Foil Gold, it really is difficult to photograph.  Fortunately, they look fabulous in real life.  These will be hand delivered as they are an off size, and pretty heavy.

See you next Saturday!

Just Us Girls Challenge #791 - Die Week

I'm the Hostess for this week's challenge.  To keep it totally easy, I'm going with anything goes.

I have had this die for so many years!  I love it - it is a classic.  Yep, I am starting to get my Christmas card stash filled up.  I dislike having to fast create if I don't have enough.

I gotta say, I'm happy with this card.  I might even make some more with a colored card base.

Your turn!  I hope you come on over to JUGS #791 and show us how you use a die.

Addicted to CAS #287 - Christmas

It's Christmas in July!  I have no problem getting started on this season's cards!

I used some CCS papers for this card; Wild Blueberry, Flash Red Glitter and Bright Foil Gold.  I attempted some gold foiling with a pre-printed label from GKD.  It looks much better IRL - photographing foil is awful!

First one of the Season!  Many to go~. Adding this to CAS on Friday #313; Christmas in July.
Your turn!  Join in the challenge over at ATCAS #287, and get your stash started.

CAS on Sunday #147

I got an email with the CAS on Sunday #147 Challenge; Make a Christmas Card, AND, AAA Challenge #129; mostly white. Perfect!

So, true story.  My DH had a garage sale, and put some of my cards out for selling.  Well, ALL the Christmas cards sold [quickly] - problem?  Well, this year's Christmas cards were in the display.  Really?  Oyie Vey!  I scrambled and decided that this year's new cards were going to be massed produced, and it had to be CAS.

Here is one of the 30 I made.  How perfect it worked for this challenge!

Thanks challenge!  You saved me :).

Stamp Ink Paper #18

Stamp Ink Paper #18 had a terrific sketch, so much so, that I instantly had a card in mind.
We all know that doesn't happen very often [with me].

I used my favorite 2015 purchase from Clearly Besotted Merry Christmas.  I adore the font this die has, and works perfectly for my card.  The ornament is from Top Dog Dies; Ornament & Tags #2, and the Christmas is from Hero Arts Holiday Sayings.

SIP Sketch Challenge 18 800

Because I used the negative die cut on my card above, it gave me a positive cut for another "free" card below. ;)  Gotta love that~

Hope you are having a crafty day!

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #169

I saw a card today in blogland that jumped out at me.  I decided to use the color challenge from Merry Monday #169, and I wanted to make it Christmas - so this was a win for me!

I used some of my [really] old stamps, and dies from Spellbinders.
I used some UTT for the extra shiny effect.

Here is the card I CASED from Joni Nina Andaya, over at Papell with Love;

Stunning isn't it?  I fell in love~ :) [yeah, I like her's better too ;)]
Okay - something different here.  I really wasn't happy with my first attempt, so, I tried to fix it.  I tried water coloring this one, and used smaller sequins.
Honest opinion, which one do YOU like better?

I'm thinking I'm still not that happy..... maybe I'll completely start over.....

Another [almost] great day! :)

Less Is More & Christmas

The Less is More Challenge is to use yellow.  Mandi, one of the Hostesses of this fabulous challenge site made a card that I had to CASE.  I loved the way she had a pop of yellow.

I instantly thought of the chick image from Gina K Designs Vintage Chic stamp set. While I used a little more yellow, I was definitely inspired by Mandi's card. (Thanks Miss M)

Another fun challenge over at Less is More.  Thanks Ladies for having such fun challenges!

This card is for a Dirty Dozen current and alumni [that's me!] Christmas challenge over at SCS.  This challenge started in January, and is monthly. Since it is almost 1/2 way through the year (shut the front door), I figured I had better get started making Christmas cards.  What better motivator then a challenge. :)

Here is a close up of my Spellbinder's Layered Poinsettia. By using pop dots in between the layers, you get wonderful definition of the layers. I also used a stylus [with a foam pad] to add some roundness to petals and leaves.  [I learned this from Kittie Caracciolo over at KittieKraft.]

Okay, my first  [challenge] Christmas card is done for 2012.  If you are a Fan Club member of  SCS you can see the gallery here, or, if you want to become a Fan Club Member see information here.
