ARTplorations Hop - Day 2

We are on to Day 2 of the ARTplorations Stencil Hop.  Did you have fun yesterday?  Do my teammates rock or what?  I am so impressed!

Today I am featuring ARTplorations Bold Florals:

For this card I tried a faux Bokeh effect using the flowers rather then the dots you usually see.  I sponged on my distress ink [Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers], then, laying down my stencil, I inked on white pigment ink, [lighter in some areas for the effect.].  I probably should of done more sponged flowers [better effect], but I rather like this end result.

For my second card I tried a different effect.  Using water color paper, I painted my panel with water colors and spritzed heavily with water.  I then laid the stencil on top of the panel and pushed down to get the image embedded into the paint. I lifted it off and you see what happened. :)

I used STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments; hashtag authentic stamp set for both my cards.

Check out what the rest of the team made! You'll find links to all our projects here.
And, the fun part:

Prizes:
SIX (6) winners (2 winners per day) will receive their choice of ARTplorations stencil. Winners will be randomly drawn from all comments left on the designers' blogs.
THREE (3) winners will each win a $15 gift certificate. Winners will be randomly drawn from comments left on the STAMPlorations blog.

Thanks for stopping by~

You are AWESOME and AMAZING. I love both of these cards. These are outstanding backgrounds. Where on earth did you get the idea to use a flower for the bokeh technique? The colors you chose are really great. Fabulous stamp set!

I like both effects. I find the first one very striking with the addition of the white ink. Looking at both I just want to head for an island paradise.

Two beautiful cards, Vicki - and I must have been channeling you because I came "this close" to trying the floral bokeh. After seeing yours: no trying, just do! Can I case your card for the Caseplorations/Inspiration challenges? Pretty please?
