Paper & Such Challenge

My stamper friend, Julie Smith owns an online store, Paper and Such.  I have been a follower of her clean and gorgeous work for years. (I found her gallery 4 years ago when I joined SCS).  Anyway, Julie graciously sent me a few of her images to play with.  OH HEAVEN -- lovely stamps!  I have been having fun creating with her images.

This is called a Basketful of Flowers. I did a little spotlighting to accent the flower basket.  I made this for my son in law -- do you think it is masculine enough?

While perusing Julie's store, I came across her Paper and Such Blog -- it has challenges!  [The stuff you find in cyber space, so fun!]  Well, when I saw the inspiration photo, I had to join in the fun!

I used another one of her fabulous images - Poppies.  These are so gorgeous -- this is only 1/3 of the image -- the entire image is big and gorgeous!  I had every intention of using sage green, but well, aqua kind of won. :)  I am thrilled with my coloring (ya all know I am color challenged) - but this image was so easy to color!!
Unknown to me, both of these sets are currently on SALE!  Pop on over to Paper and Such and get them before they are gone!

On a side note,an interesting thing happened to one of my Tim Holtz dies -- actually, it p.o.'d me off!
Do you see this!! (These are not sitting on top of the plate, they are CUT INTO the plate!) I cut with this die (on the card above) and [gee, thanks Tim] the ridiculous sturdiness of these dies (ha!) cut so far into my plate that it TOTALLY came out of the frame!  The die is destroyed!  DH had to get pilers to get it out of the C plate! ARE YOU KIDDING!  This is the same die that I used 2 days ago over 30 times for labeling my stamps -- I had no problem at all........then.  I am not sure WHAT I did, but I am so bummed I ruined this die!  Naturally, I got it at summer CHA and can't get it replaced (w/o buying another one) -- damn.

Did you want to see my project made with this die?

AFTER:

See why I am bummed? I wasn't done labeling my stamps! On for goodness sake!

On that note, really, I am done for today...... Thanks for stopping by~

So sorry to hear about your die woes! NOT fun!! On a brighter note, love the spotlighting and diamond BG on the first card and lovely poppies on the second.

Totally cute cards! I agree, Julie is a sweet talented friend.

Regarding your die, contact Ranger. I got a defective ink pad, contacted them and they sent me a replacement NO questions asked! Worth a try. Let me see if I can find the email address I sent it to...

What pretty cards! Great colouring on both. I like the twine tied at the bottom of the bike one and the aqua looks so pretty with the poppy.
I had problems with a Ranger Heat Gun and although I had to chase them for months to get it replaced, after being in touch with about three or four different people...one was Mr TH himself...it was sent out. Not until after a little round trip to England!
Little hint. I found the best way to get in contact with them was a comment on their blog. Letters were ignored but a complaint on Ranger's blog brought fast action!
Good luck! :)

Some more of your stunning creations. Love your colouring of the flowers - awesome.
I am in awe of your collection of stamps, you are so lucky. What a great way to store them, the labels look super.
Now you know you need that die so go get it replaced. I would agree that the blog is a good way of highlighting your problem.
Hope you manage to get it changed, and maybe a new plate!

I am confident you will end up getting your die replaced. I agree with whoever wrote about complaining on their blog, and you might also want to try a FB mention as well. Your labels and organization-well, very cool!

OMG! What an inspiring post for SO many reasons, Vicki! First off - your cards - da BOMB! So beautiful! Secondly - OMG those files are SUCH a great idea! But, finally, so sorry to hear about you dies. I can see why you are bummed! Have you thought of contacting Sizzix, directly? I'll bet they'd happily replace it! If not, I'd shoot an email to Tim! I'll be he'll make it right! I hope you can get it resolved - those dies are TOO beautiful not to be used in your talented hands! xo!

Vicki, if I were you, I'd TOTALLY write to the company about that die. Show these pix; it's proof of what happened.

It's a great die, and I love how you've used it to store your stamps.
