Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #45

This week, we are introducing Colleen Dietrich as our newest Team Member over at Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge.  This week, Colleen has challenged us to using the bleach technique.  Well, I will be honest, I have never done this technique, and really would never have used it if it wasn't for our newbie! :)  However, I must say it was kind of cool watching the image appear on my paper.  I used the soon to-be-released (Tuesday, March 8) MFP stamp set Just Dandy.  Interested in trying this technique?  Well, come on over to Speedy's Challenge and upload your creation!  This is also the first week of the grand prize package of being a Guest Designer for Mark's Finest Papers!  This layout is from Clean & Simple 130.
Thanks for stopping by~

Vicki, Your card turned out fabulous! I actually ruined a whole sheet of that same purple cardstock on this technique, but you rocked it completely with the dandelion stamp! Love that row of bling over the sentiment, too!

Yay, Vicki! I am so proud of you for doing the bleach technique with me! I know I picked a challenging challenge for my debut, didn't I? I love how you chose the dandelions to do this. And the purple/white/black color scheme is so smart and dramatic. Great job!

Can't believe you never tried this before! It's an swesome technique. Try stamping an image, heat embossing it and then color with bleach within the lines. Try a couple of dots of bleach on different color cs scraps. Some are icky results (like black) but you will be amazed how gorgeous it is on most colors. Using a heat gun speeds up drying and lightening effects!
