Guest Designer Contest

Gina K at Stamp TV is running her contest for April's Guest Designer position.  This month she challenged participants to remember your favorite storytime book, and than make a card based on it.  I instantly thought of "Time for Bed".  I love this contest because it brought back such precious memories on my son sitting on my lap "helping" me to read this book every night for about 6 months!  Heck, I can even remember the chair we sat in.  Did I get tired of reading the same book - you bet ~ do I regret any of that time spent.........gosh no~  Being that my son is now 15, these memories help to remind me that my son will like me again someday......LOL.  The days they are little go so fast~~ people always told me that~~ WOW I can't believe how amazingly fast it went.  I see why the grandparents enjoy grand kids ...They  know to appreciate EVERY moment because they experienced how time flies.

Anyway, on to my inspired card ~ I also instantly thought of Theresa Momber's set Sending Sunshine.  I hadn't yet inked up the tree or the deer but I knew that both would be perfect for a "bedtime" scene.  I tried to convey dusk time~~ being together relaxing, getting ready for bed.  I think I managed that~ what do you think?

If you get a chance check out the amazing entries - it's fierce!  April Book There are so many talented stampers that play over at Stamp TV, but not so many that you "miss" a lot of the beautiful creations.  I doubt I will win, but I sorta did because of the wonderful feelings I had making this card~ might sound sappy, but REALLY having a 15 year is such a challenge...........

Thanks for stopping by -

Vicki, Oh my my girl! If I get to pick...you WIN! Hee! I am in tears, girl! The story is so close to home. I have a dd who is 15. Like you...I am not feeling the love. Yes, everyone said the baby years go by so fast and I so miss those. However, I just did not have a clue as to how hard the teen years would be. Your card is GORGEOUS! Thanks so much for sharing your story and beautiful card!

That is one gorgeous card! Love the soft greens and black to bring out your lovely scene.
Hang in there, the children circle back around eventually. I always said it was God's way of helping us let loose of the apron strings!

Vicki, you created an amazing card based on this story! Reading to my 3 children happened often and was always a special bonding time! Hang in there...the teen years will pass and they will eventually see you as someone to seek out for advice! :-) As teenagers, they know it all.

Beautiful card, and I wish you well in the contest. I really don't know how anyone can compete against this fabulous creation, and you picked a very wonderful story. It was a part of my collection in my kindergarten classroom for the many years I taught in public schools.
