Dare 2B Artzy Day

It's Dare 2B Artzy day here on my blog [and over on the D2BA blog too].  Today I made a couple of gift bags.  These will hold a little something for a couple of co-workers.  Small is perfect! ;)

I used the Tis The Season stamp set [with matching dies].  My Christmas colors this year are going to be black, lime green, and silver. These 2 bags will look good under my tree until I take them to work.

For this first one, I made the ornament removable, and attached a hanging cord, so it can be used for a tree ornament.  Makes for a fun dual gift.

This 2nd one is just a decorated packaged bag.  Both work for me!

Do you make packaging for small gifts?  I hope I inspired you to try some, they are fun to make.

Happy Little Stampers November ATC Challenge

Hi all - it's time for the HLS ATC Challenge.  This month is about sewing

In my case, I used actually sewing.  It's been forever since I got out my sewing machine.  I forgot how much I like it, especially on this ATC.  I kept it pretty CAS this month, but I do like it.  I started with a painted background [from my gelli plate], added a couple of died leaves, and added a sentiment.  Easy, and will fit inside a Christmas card for a fun "bookmark".

Your turn!  Come on over to Happy Little Stampers ATC Challenge and play along!  You have all month to join in.

[On a side note, Kylie is closing down the store.  Check out the 60% off price discount HERE.]

Just Us Girls Challenge #466 - TREND Week

I can honestly say, that though I have heard and seen the bleach technique, I have never done it before.  I'm thinking because bleach scares me.  But, I persevered and made myself try this.

I went really basic, but you can sort of see the area that was bleached [in the background].  I used Altenew's Hennah Elements.  I stamped, white embossed, and then using a micro brush, I bleached out the inside of the flowers.  Because I used a dark paper, it bleached it out.

I had the tag hanging out on my desk, and because it matched, I lightly adhered it over the flowers.  This will make a "card gift" for my friend's  birthday.  Dual win there - I used bleach, and have a gift.  Gotta love that~

Your turn - there are many ways to use bleach on your cards [Pinterest, You tube, Jennifer McGuire].  Find one that interests you and play along.  I for one, am looking forward to see what the Team created, as well as the players!  Have fun.

Special STAMPlorations Coffee Dies!

Shery has come up with the most fun zen coffee dies that I have ever used to date!  Wait till you see what I created....  First though, I want to let you know from today, November 9th through November 16th, the Zen Coffee Dies are discounted by 15% - if you use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID, you can save an additional 20% off!  [I just love win-win good prices]

Now to the eye candy:
For this first card, I used glitter paper for the top detailed "zen" portion of the die, (Zen Coffee Cup Layering Dies.) My sentiment is from the Coffeeology stamp set.

For my second card, for the bottom layer die, I cut that out of an inked panel with gold laminating.  I used black card stock for the top "zen" layer.  I just love the shine this cup gives off.  The sentiment is from the Coffeecionado Stamp Set.  This definition fits me [with 20 years of working for Starbucks].

Finally, [yes, I made 3] for my 3rd card, I water colored a background layer, and "zenned" the top with white card stock.  I think the yellow background [sun-in-the-morning] fits well with the sentiment [another one] from, the Coffeecionado stamp set.

Here's the prize info-- be sure to leave a comment here [and the other designer's blogs. The list is HERE]. 1 winner will receive the new Zen Coffee Cup Layering Dies!  You have until November 16th to leave comments.

I hope you enjoyed my cards, and the fabulous new zen coffee dies.  They really are super fun to create with.

Seize the Birthday Challenge

The challenge option is all about CAS; clean and simple.

I create a lot of clean and simple cards.  For today's card some might say it isn't CAS because of the background paper, but I'm going with it.  It is definitely simple. :)
I used a feather from Hero Arts Feathers.  My happy is from Crafty Cutts, and the birthday was laying on my desk.
Your turn!  Come on over to Seize the Birthday - while making a CAS card is optional,
being a birthday card is not.

See you there~

CAS-ual Fridays Day

It's my day over on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog.  Christmas is hurrying towards us, so today I made another Christmas card.

For my card, I used some designer paper [in my stash], along with the fun Ornament Fri Die, and a sentiment from Mistletoe and Holly.

It's hard to see, but, I crimped the center panel.  I just love that type of texture.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Don't forget, if you use my code, you can save 15% on your CFS purchase!

TAGplorations Challenge #10

While the graphic says Thanksgiving, I went with thankful.  I don't do Thanksgiving cards/ or tags, but I do do thankful tags. ;)

I went totally crazy with my DT tags for this month, but, ya know what? That's okay since some of them were needed for my co-workers.

I started with my gelli plate. [You can see a few videos HERE that Shery Russ has done on working with your gelli plate.]  I did many, many backgrounds. [It's just so fun!]  Once done, I picked out the "color consistency" sheets of Starbucks, and cut the tag base using the Luggage Tag dies.

Using some glitter paper, I cut out the words using the Thanks Word Die Cut, and Thankful Word Die Cut.
I also painted and Ultra Thick embossed some wood embellishments that I had.  The UTT makes them so shiny and pretty.

While looking for my wood embellishments, I came across some decorated acrylic sheets in my stash, so I added those to my tags too.

As you can tell, the backgrounds totally makes these tags - the added pop of color is because, well that's me.  I do love contrasting colors.

I hope you enjoyed my tags today.  Remember if you use my code STAMPGIRLVICKID, you can save 20% off any STAMPlorations purchase. [Yes, I get a little something - so thanks].

Meanwhile, please make a tag of Thanks, or Thanksgiving, and play along in the TAGplorations monthly challenge!

STAMPlorations Inspirations #193

It's time for the STAMPlorations Inspiration #193.  This week is about The Bee's Knees, illustrated by Shirley Bampton.  All her sets are discounted this week by 10%.  If you use my code, STAMPGIRLVICKID, you can save an additional 20% off!

For my card today, I used the [so fun] Layered Holly stamp set.  This time, I colored in the images rather then using the solid stamp in the set.  I like that versatility.

To see more of my teamies work, pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog to check them out.  Don't forget to leave a comment for the monthly prize.

Just Us Girls #465 - Word Week

What a perfect word for this week's challenge.

I came up with a CAS card, that I think is rather cute.

I used a music score [from the OOB] Inspired By Stamping, and my tree is from STAMPlorations Sketchy Yule Tree.  The sentiment is Hero Arts.

It's your turn.  Come on over to Just Us Girls Challenge and play along.  I can't wait to see how music inspires you.
