Just Us Girls #449 - Trend Week

For my "background", I used the Smooshing Water Color Technique.  I like this easy way of using watercolors. The plus, you never know how it will turn out.  I love that part!

See what I mean?  I love this end result!

Your turn. Come on over to Just Us Girl's Challenge and show us how you use water colors for a background....

Happy Little Stampers July ATC Challenge

It's time for the HLS ATC Challenge.  This month is all about coffee! Oh yeah :)

This month I went with 2.  I pounced the background for both ATC's, and then added on the coffee cups, and sentiments.

I have to say, I absolutely love making these fun, small ATC's.

I hope you come on over to Happy Little Stampers July ATC Challenge and play along. [The player participation is not great].  See you there!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #178

Today I am sharing a card made with STAMPlorations products.  During the Summer, EVERY Tuesday, Sheri is running 15% off all stamps, stencils and dies!  And yes, my code, STAMPGIRLVICKID, works for an additional 20% off!! Talk about a win-win.

How simple and fabulous is this!  I stamped the image and white embossed it, then I did a light blue water color wash, putting a second layer on the flower petals for depth.  I stamped the sentiment on some vellum, and a small piece of card stock.  I used the Smile stamp set.

You can pop on over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what my team mates this week.  Don't forget to leave a comment for the monthly prize!

Playing for Fun

When I saw Jennifer McGuire's latest video; Background Die Cut Techniques, I had to give it a try.

While Jennifer makes it look really easy [like everything she does!], not so much for me.  However, the second attempt did work, kind of.

Here is the "left over" main pieces of the cover plate.  [I never did get the craft foam to cut through, so this is all glued down to the card base.]  My HUGS is from My Favorite Things.

I used Papertreys Birthday Wishes word die.  [I adore the font on this!]

The trick was using a cover plate that had bigger pieces.  I used this one from My Favorite Things. I'll have to give that craft foam backing another try. [I loved the dimensional look]  It's frustrating when something that looks "easy" isn't!

A day of simple playing - no challenges, nothing but experimenting. While frustrating, it was a fun day.

Seize the Birthday Challenge - Sequins

This week is all about sequins.

I adore using sequins.  I always think shaker cards.

So fun!  See that sentiment?  Well, it can be your's too!  Hannelie Bester makes the greatest sentiments, and she shares them with us.  Gotta love freebies. ;)

Okay, your turn.  How do you see using sequins?  Pop on over to the Seize the Birthday Challenge and play along.  You don't have to use sequins, but it must be a birthday card.

CAS-ual Fridays Day

I'm over on the CFS Blog with this same card today.

I am so drawn to this cute ballerina.  She works for so many types of cards.  I used the following CFS products; Scallop Tags, Tutu and matching Ballerina Fri-die, along with a sentiment from Bold Wishes.

Okay, that is it for me today.  Don't forget, you can use my code for a 15% discount!
