Had to Play!

When I saw the fabulous color challenge from The Card Concept #15 I had to join in! These colors very simply put, are ME!  Mix these with the super fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #14 and you end up with this.....

I used STAMPlorations Boxed Blooms.  I love the thanks that looks 3D, but it's not.  I went with the clean and simple style this week.  Totally love this card :).

I hope you find some crafty time!

Dazzling Divas #35 - Pink & Pearl

Dazzling Divas is at it again with a fun color challenge this week; Pink & Pearl [off white].

 I used the oh so pretty, Pucker Me Pink Craft Sheet Metal, and the background panel I used Precious Pearl Craft Metal Sheet with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

See the gold?  I used one of the tools DD carries, Inka Gold.  It's a metal gloss paint!  Very awesome stuff!  You can see a video here on how it works.

Here is the inspiration photo for this week's challenge:

Now remember, if you are interesting in buying any of the products, you can order HERE.  [I get credit :)]  Meanwhile, pop on over to the Dazzling Divas #35 Challenge, check out the other Designer's awesome samples, and then play along!  You don't need to use metal sheets, but you get entered twice for the prize if you do.

SCS Color CHallenge CC488

Mary chose colors based on the Stampin Up Designer Paper All Bloom.  I really don't do SU, fortunately, she gave us a list of colors;
Blushing Bride
Daffodil Delight
Island Indigo
Lost Lagoon (new in-color)
Mossy Meadow (new in-color)
Pistachio Pudding
Strawberry Slush
Whisper White (our neutral this week)
Her dessert for this week is a summer theme.

I went with summer colors, and loved the look so much, I made 2!  That rarely happens :).

I used vellum, and some Wink of Stella on my butterfly.

I watched a Tim Holtz video where he stamped using Distress Inks, and then put Perfect Pearl powder on the stamped image.  Well, I don't care for the smearing of my image :(.  I didn't want to re-do it though.  So there you have it - not all of my cards are successes :).

Come on over to SCS Color Challenge and play along!  We would love to see what you do with these pretty summer colors!

Case Study 200

Case Study is having a milestone -- 200 challenges!  I remember when this challenge first started almost 4 years ago!  This month they have one of my most favorite stampers, Shari Carroll, as the inspiration.  I missed last week, but I had to get in on this weeks~

 I used STAMPlorations Retro Mod Shapes and Chevron & Arrows
 Darn - I am not sure what's going on with my photo.  It looks dirty but on my desktop it looks perfect.  5 photos later, I spent more time trying to get this white, then making the card!  I'm going with this - pretend it's pretty white. :)  Here is Shari's card;

So fun!

Just a Few Challenges!

I got home from work and just needed to veg in my stamp room. Fortunately for me, there are some SUPER FUN challenges waiting for me to join in with!

Simon Says Wednesday; spots and dots, Tag Your It #2; CASE Laura's tag, Colour Me #29; beautiful colors (!), and A Blog Named Hero #48; sheet cake [one layer].  All of these worked perfectly for this...............

For the left tag, I used Hero Arts, Antique Flowers & Butterflies, with a sentiment from Remember Your Kindness.  I used a MFT Stencil on the Diagonal for my sponged background.  I used the same images for the right tag, only with this tag, I water colored the background - I'm thinking, I like the muted colors better..

Just a couple of small tags that covers these challenges~ yep, I had fun!
