Whisker Graphics Day

It's time for a Whisker Graphics project here on my blog today.  I do look forward to creating an ABC [anything but a card] project using WG products.

I found this frame garage sailing [yes, I spelled it my way ;)] for like 10¢.  I knew I would use it some how, someday for a project.  Today is the day.

I downloaded, and cut a 2016 calendar.  I went through important dates and stamped images over the specific date I wanted highlighted.  [See my example with the heart]  St Pat's day I did a clover, April a flower, May my birthday etc...

And then I made cut images that can be changed out for the coming months.  For this month of February I used the Whisker Graphics Solid Pink Bamboo Twine.

As the months change, I will clip on the different cut outs, and change the twine to match. ie, I will use Solid Green Bamboo Twine to match the clover for March, the gorgeous Solid Navy Bamboo Twine to go with the April flower etc.

This is going to be a very fun calendar for 2016!
If I remember, I will post the new month, every month, over the next year..

Meanwhile, pop on over to Whisker Graphics and browse!
They have all kinds of products for you to make your own ABC project!

STAMPlorations Inspirations #60

It's STAMPlorations Inspiration today.  I went with a very easy, and I think, pretty card.

Starting with a panel of water color paper, I wetted it down with a paintbrush, and touched my paint filled brush to the panel.  I let the colors spread, and then re-spritzed with water.  Once I dried it with my heat gun, I embossed my sentiment [Fond Expressions] and added a punched heart for contrast.  A basic water colored card, that I really like :)

Check out what the others girls did HERE.

SCS Color Challenge #569

It's time for the SCS Color Challenge.  This week, Karen chose Watermelon Wonder, Lost Lagoon and Old Olive.  The dessert is an oval.

I used a set from Stamps of Life; Mums2stamp, along with a sentiment from MFT My Favorite Sentiments [retired]. I inked up my stamps and spritzed with water - my faux water coloring effect ;)

Your turn!  Come on over to SCS Color Challenge #569, and play along!  We love to see lots of cards in the gallery.

Tag You're It #40

I took some time to play in the Tag You're It Challenge #40.  Sometimes, tags are just fun!

My tag is little, which just adds to the cuteness :).  I used an ARTploration stencil, Hearts All Over, along with a sentiment from STAMPlorations Friends & Flowers, Dee's Artsy Impressions.

Here is the CASE'd tag:

Yep, another fun challenge!

More Challenges

Ah the challenges in blogland have been motivating me!  That's so fun :).

Starting with Simon Says Wednesday Challenge; have a heart.  This went along with the Fusion Challenge; paper hearts, where I used both the inspiration and sketch.

I just loved the look of the inspiration hearts.  I wanted to try my sponge blending and this was the perfect opportunity.  I love distress inks; #1 they blend amazing, and #2 they splot with water wonderfully.

I went on to be challenged by the Time Out Challenge #49; Love is the flower, and Hero Arts Monthly Challenge; fabulous flowers.  Because I used text on my background, with my 3 layered technique, I am also entering this in the Craft Stamper Magazine Challenge; text.

I purchased a bunch of Hero Arts Wood Flower Stamps awhile back.  While I really don't care for wooden based stamps [anymore], these worked perfectly for inking up the stamps. spritzing them with water, and stamping.  I love this effect, and this is the closest I will get to water coloring. :)

I do love productive days!  Thanks challenges~

How fun!  I was asked to be the Crazy 4 Challenges Guest Designer this month!  You'll be seeing 4 cards from me this month to play in the challenges.  This week is all about kites - either the shape, or on your card.

I went to my stash of Gina K Designs stamps and used Vintage Chic.

Just Us Girls #329 - Word Week

I'm the Hostess this week over at Just Us Girls -- my word; Valentine.  The possibilities are endless, right?  I thought so :)

I used a die [love] that I have had for probably 8 months, and have never used it!  I thought it went perfectly with the you from Simon Says.  My leaves are PTI, along with the background dots.

I hope you play in my challenge over at Just Us Girls #329!!  I want a lot of players -- just sayin~

Fun Challenges

I took some time to play in a few more challenges in blogland today.

I am starting with PTI's Make It Monday #238 - Valentine ombre stamping , and also entered this in the Lawnscaping Challenge #123; sending love, use a heart,  AAA Challenge #57; love me like you do, and lastly Dies R Us Challenge #42; love

I used PTI Polka Dot Basics II, along with the adorable Lawn Fawn Love You Tons.

I also saw a fun technique over Happy Little Stampers February - CAS Challenge; coloring with an embossing folder. I had to try this!  I included this card over at the One Layer Simplicity Challenge #24; friend, also.

I thought this technique would be so easy -- HA!  Not so much.  I went through 3 card bases before I was happy with the outcome.  Sheesh!  My sentiment is from Hero Arts, Friends.

Another fun day playing in challenges!  Thanks all~

An ABC Project for Challenges

I have a friend who is leaving Arizona. She is such a pleasant person, and I am really going to miss her.  For her going away, I wanted to make her a fun project -- one that will be helpful for her to keep in touch with her friends in Arizona.

It's called a Stationary Box.  It is the perfect gift!

Isn't it fun?
I have filled it with tags [for small gifts inside the card], and of course cards, along with an address book, pen, and some scratch paper.  I just love how it opens up into a mini desk!

I am entering this project into Freshly Made Sketches #222 [front decoration layout],

AEIHeart Challenge #33; friendship [I used Laurels and Simply Said Hello], and most importantly, More Than One Score February Challenge; blue [or pink]. While they probably wanted some type of Valentine - I did use blue, and I never would of been able to make this project without my Scor- Pal!

I can't wait to give this to my friend!  I sure hope she likes it.
