Stamp TV CSS Hop - Color Challenge

Hi and welcome to the Stamp TV CSS Blog Hop! I am first and I just love that :). For this hop, Miesje came up with a color challenge of red and green - [non-Christmas] - with the use of a neutral. I have no problem using these colors -- it is one of my favorite combinations.

I just adore the trend I am seeing of angled paper and stamping.  This worked really well using the GKD set, True Love.  Using copics to color - yep I am into these colors.

I liked them so much, I made a 2nd sample card.
I used the GKD set, Nature's Greetings, along with fun White Opal Liquid Pearls.  Aren't these so fun!  I just love how they look exactly like pearls.

This is a prize hop!  Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, May 28.

Now, hop on over to Miesje Blog -- have fun looking at all the awesome projects and cards!  If you want to see who's participating in today's hop, click HERE

SCS Color Challenge #427

It's Miss Mary's challenge this week over at SCS. She chose Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist and Espresso, with a dessert of Father's Day.

I used images from Gina K Designs Masculine Messages and By The Sea.

I am thrilled that for 2 weeks now, I have remembered the dessert :).  Do you need a Father's Day card?  Well come on over to SCS and play along in the challenge, and then, you will have the card you need!

A Colorful CAS

I took some time to play in a couple of challenges today; Clean and Simple Stamping; a sketch and Dynamic Duos; Pacific Point and Black, and Paper Players CAS Masculine.

I used my fun Fiskers Sentiment stamps. My border is Inspired By Stamping, Washi Tape.

Loved the sketch, loved the colors!  Thanks Teams for the inspiration~

Organizational Project~

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I saw an organizational project in blogland.  It made so much sense, that I DIY'd my own.

 Here is the finished project - a notebook stamp holder.  Maybe you have seen these, I probably have also, but it struck me as brilliant on Saturday.

Rather then going and buying these 2 pocket sheet protectors, I made my own!!

Start with a sheet protector
Sew it in half
[look at that - I even sewed a straight line! :)]

Using my new board and a box knife, I cut through the sheet, leaving 1/4" on either edge

I lined each sheet section with card stock cut 5x8

Added my stamps, and I am good to go!
One sheet holds 4 stamps sets! I ended up making 2 notebooks and I still have one more to make, but this has gotten rid of a couple of boxes, along with making these images much more accessible.  I was pretty darn excited that I actually sewed too!

Hope you had a good week end~

Just Us Girls #189 - Color Challenge

Today is my choice for the Just Us Girls Challenge Color Week.  I was inspired [once again] by a customer's shirt.  The colors looked fabulous together.  They are Dessert Sand, Crumb Cake and Cameo Coral.

 Kind of muted for me, but I still like them together.  I used the Dare 2B Artzy set, Sympathy.
The swirls are made by one of my newest dies, MFT Snow Drifts.  These things are so cool!  So many designs you can make besides hills.

I hope you like these colors and play in the Just Us Girls Challenge!  I would love to see your creation~

Dare 2B Artzy

Today for Dare 2B Artzy Friday, I am playing in the One Layer Wednesday Challenge; borders.

I just have to laugh -- I started with this card;

I got the side sponged border all done and pretty, and then I got the circles cut and stamped with the sentiment, adhered it to my card and TA DA - realized this was not a one layer card.

So, I moved on to card number 2;
Now, again with this card, I sponged in the pretty border and realized the sentiment wouldn't fit so I turned the card and stamped the sentiment.  I cut the card [remember, this was suppose to be a one layer card] into a 4 x 5.25 panel and mounted it on a horizontal card.  Once again, this also was not a one layer card!  [Oh for goodness sake!]

So, again, I moved on to card number 3;

SUCCESS!  I sponged the side border, stamped the sentiment, added a ribbon [which is okay on an one layer card] and said YES! Done.  Wow, that was an interesting couple of hours.  The plus side, I will make one more card and have a nice set of cards to give as a gift.  That works for me~

On these cards, all sentiments are from Dare 2B Artzy,

Have you linked on over to the Dare 2B Artzy store and checked out the stamp sets?  Amazing stuff I'm telling ya!

For Your Inspiration #46

Hi everyone - it's For Your Inspiration challenge time.  Step has once again chosen a stunning photo.

I saw this layout [frame behind the focal image and fell in love.  [Told you Karen I was going to use it!]  As par for me, I replicated the inspiration.  I do love doing scenes, and I think I captured the photo.  My Dare 2B Artzy sentiment from Sunshine Sentiments worked rather perfect for this card too.

Are you inspired by this photo?  Come on over to For Your Inspiration Challenge and play along!

Also, FYI is looking to add to the Team!  Do you like to create from inspiration photos?  Well, click HERE and see what you need to do to tryout for the FYI Team.  I can highly recommend this Team -- Steph is awesome, and so are the other Team Members!

Something to Share

My DH rocked out a gift for me!  It is so awesome, I wanted to share it with all of you.

It is a self healing cutting pad [similar to a scor pal pad] however,
this has a slide ruler!

Now, I will have no problem lining up my stamps and images!
I love the way the ruler hooks on the edge and slides up or down, to line up my stamping.
DH got this at Michaels in the drafting department.  This is going to be so handy!  He did good :).

Another project I worked on was my scraps. I saw this idea in blogland somewhere and loved it!  I had my scrap papers in this:

I put them all in a household 13 pocket bill holder from Kmart - [like $6.]

Because my scrap piles are so out of control,
I put the holder into a [temporary] storage box until I can condense down my scraps. Once that happens, I will be able to easily access my scraps [and use them more instead of making more - hence the out of control state they are currently in] Now, I have 12 empty drawers for additional storage.  What a win-win organizational idea!  I just love finding useful ideas in blogland~

I'll be back tomorrow with an FYI card.  Another amazing photo courtesy of Steph!
