You all have heard me mention Pinterest. [So addictive/ addicted!] - Well, one of my boards is "Stuff To Make". I took a couple of ideas and this is what I did today:
Start with whatever bottles you like:
Get the paint colors you like. I was happy to find these paint jar samples - in the colors I love at Lowes. [Do you see that turquoise?;)]
Pour paint inside the bottles and twist around to cover the entire inside. Drain off excess back into the paint sample jar and then drain them on a piece of foil. Keep moving them around until most of the excess paint is drained out. Dry over night.
This is what the first batch I did looks like;
I LOVE these! I just think they are awesome.
What happened to the lids? Well, I am so glad you asked;
Draw a circle around the lid |
Center lid in circle draw a outline, cut slits from edge to drawn edge |
Gluing lid on to paper, fold up and over lid |
With my Nesties, I cut a circle to go inside to hold down the paper and give it a finished look. |
Here is the completed project. What do you think? I love them - however, to be honest.... I think all they will do is collect dust! Bawahahaha! I mean really, what else are they for but decoration? At least they will add color to my stamp room~
On to project 2. I have started following some DIY blogs and I keep seeing all these furniture remakes. Well, I have this chair [for my cat] outside on my patio.
As you can see -- terribly tweaked. Even the cat isn't interested in sleeping on this.
I had a light bulb moment - we had kept our old mattress pad and so, I cut it up into the size of the cover.
I re-stuffed the cushion cover, adjusted it a tad, and check it out;
Nice and comfy and most important, FLAT! :) I'm thinking my cat will love it!
I hope you enjoyed my 2 projects today. I sure had fun doing them. Back to cards tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by~

you did great, I love that site too and have done several projects I found from there!!!
I need to get signed up to Pinterest! Love that you actually tried some projects, I can imagine I would just see them and think "wow!" and never get them done!
I am addicted as well, saw some of the colored bottles yesterday. I love yours with the paper covered lids....beautiful job and so pretty for your room. You sound like us for the kitty, whatever makes them happy and your redone cushion should.
Glad you had fun with these.
hugs...Patti
Fabulous, creative projects! Great job!
Those bottles are so cute! Chair really looks great! Nice to have projects done that aren't cards and a break from cards
These are fantastic!!! You have a knack for 3-D projects and I love Pintrest. I waste so much time there. Ooops...I mean "research" so much there. Ha.
Hi Vicki! I saw the jars and was excited, love the painted insides they look fabulous! I've learned so much on Pinterest too, it's opened up a whole new world of creativity for me :)
The chair cushion was a great idea too, your kitty will be lounging there soon.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving comments for me too!
Hugs, Jan
