Sets for Craft Fair & a Couple of Challenges

I love it when cards come together with no stress.  I used the SU set Very Merry (colors from The Playdate Cafe 50 on one and PTI Signature Christmas on the other.  These sets were so fun and easy~~  I was going to make a holder, but changed my mind - I will just group together as sets  for sale. My only problem?  What to charge!  To my friends I only sell my cards for $2.50 each - should I up my price to $3 each and the sets for $11.00?  I need to ask you all - would you pay that much?  I'll be honest. I doubt I would - but than again, I can be cheap (on certain things anyway. lol)  Or, should I just stay with my $2.50 and sets for $9.00?  A little poll taking here.  (Thank you for your opinion!)

This is a sneak peek for Mark's Finest Papers Snowman Country, to be released October 12th.  I made this for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  I took this sketch literally since I had the tree.  This is also for Moxie Fab World, a Holiday Card.  I have never played in this site's challenge so many thanks to Julia for the link!  The colors are for Color Dare #79 - I used aqua, sage and brown - that was the closest colors I had to the listed colors.  I am hoping you can see the glitter on the leaves.

This last card is from Innovative Stamp Creations, Nature Silhouette III.  Gosh I love the realisticness of these stamps!  I used the Saturday Sketch #124 sketch for this.  [What a fun sketch!!]  Again, this is a first for me with this site. (Thanks Daily Dare)

Now, I need to get busy finishing off my back stash of cards for the craft fair - its NEXT week end and I have a ton to do!!  - I wish I would finish my cards when I first make them!  - Sure would save me a lot of time!!  LOL
Thanks so much for stopping by - and thank you sincerely for your comments! They are my validation~~

Great set of cards, Vicki :) Love the all. If you can get $2.50 for a card you are doing well. I'd personally stay at that price, unless they are overly embellished etc. Sets for $9 is a good deal. Plus you are under the $10 psychological barrier and that helps too :)

That being said, If your market will sustain $3 go for it :) Maybe try out making a few more elaborate cards for $3 price and see if you can get the $3 - just thinking aloud here. I am a bargain hunter so not sure I'd pay the $11, but that is just cheap old me LOL! Many love the uniqueness of had crafted cards and the stores that carry mine sell them for $4 plus so depending on your marketplace they will sell.

I have no idea on how to price cards, but I must say that anyone would be lucky to have some of these beauties! Your card sets are simplicity at its best! And I love the card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge... great interpretation of the sketch! Same goes for the Sketch Saturday card... what beautiful colors! Thanks for playing!!!

Love the beautifully colored Christmas set. The images are precious! The third card is just beautiful! Just a suggestion. I think I would start off pricing the cards at $3 a piece or $11 for the set. If you see that they are not selling you could lower the price! Good luck~

Lovely cards Vicki. Sorry, have no idea what you should charge. People don't appreciate how much work goes into handmade cards, and when they can buy a card for 59p (U.K.)in the shops for a mass-produced card they're not going to pay any more. I would rather an individual card any day x

Vicki, these are all so beautiful, you have been very busy and sounds like that will continue this week.
Hope you do well at the craft fair, I had thought about doing one in early Dec. here but don't know if I have enough stock or can get it together. I too am guilty of not completely finishing the card for sale. Did good at first, but now I procrastinate and don't stamp my name or insert in packaging...lol. Keep thinking I will do better, but another challenge comes along and I'd rather stamp. If you are not packaging these as such, why not start the price at $3 and give a discount when buying more? Place the sets together and give the idea of a set but since you do not have the expense of a set package you could maybe discount if they purchase all 4. I sell my cards at $3 and my friends appreciate the time that goes into a handmade card. As a cardmaker I don't think we want to pay that because we know we can do it ourself and it's harder to pay the price. Good luck and sorry for the long post.

Wow - love your card sets Vicki! great designs on them - and you WMS sketch tree card is spot on! thanks for playing with WMS this week!

when we sell cards at our church fair we sell them for $2.50 each (I know they are worth more - I used to sell some at a store and they sold them for $4.50 but I got $2.50!) - if you sell them in sets you probably can't get that much - maybe $7.50 for a set of 4??? I know people at our fair are always looking for 'good stuff cheap'!!

Vicki, these cards are beautiful! All your work is beautiful!! I don't know how to price cards either, I sell mine quite cheap, because you can buy cards over here (Australia)for $1, so mine I sell for $2 or $3 unless they are very elaborate, and sometimes depends on the area you are selling.

Your cards have a great simplicity to them, which I think is really beautiful and difficult to achieve!!!!

I'd keep them at the 2.50 price, you'll probably sell more, and if they're fairly quick to make that's better than having them sit there cos they are dearer.
They are gorgeous! Thanks so much for playing along in the play date cafe :)
