Inspiration

Well everyone - thanks for checking out my blog and signing up to follow!!  It was (is) so fun to read your very nice comments and see my follower list grow!  Hopefully it will continue growing and you check back to see what I have been up to!

Since it is Saturday, that is my BIG day of creating.  I start in the am and usually go until 10-11pm!  I love Saturdays because they start with the Inspiration Challenge over at SCS.  I love getting inspired by the great sites that Stefanie finds!  This week is no exception.  Filled with interesting items but what got me was all the fabulous bright and cheery colors!  I was inspired by this card holder.  Since I didn't have a round punch in the different sizes, I pulled out my really old Friskers heart corner punch and used the punched out hearts.  I had every intention of using my sewing machine for the stitching but after 20 minutes of fighting with the stitches NOT working, I gave up and went with faux stitching.  There again, my DS got into my "stuff" and low and behold, my paper piercer ended up in the trash and got thrown away (naturally this wasn't his fault - lol) so I grabbed my push pin and did my piercing with the tiny tool.  I like the holes the push pin makes so it worked out well.  I used my Signo white gel pen for the stitches.  Can I recommend this gel pen? (It's my blog - I guess I can!)  I have 2 other brands of gel pens...let's just say I will only use Signo from now on!  I colored my flowers (would love to tell you the set of these acrylic stamps but I threw out the label portion [can't blame DS for that one.. darn] - I just know I got them at Mike's [with a 40% off naturally]) with copics.  No fancy stuff like shading I just colored them for a solid color, cut them out and mounted with a glue dot.  Punched out 2 word punches from SU word punch and taped together to make it longer, added a couple of brads and glued my hearts on.  I mounted this on to the actual base card and I was done.  I will stamp the inside when I go to use it...for whatever.

I am trying to stick a tip or trick or inspiration in every card I make.  Did I succeed?  I love blogs that teach me something - how else can we learn all the awesome stuff we can use!!  Oh yeah, FYI there is a VSN over at SCS today so I will be creating A LOT of cards for that!  What is VSN - Virtual Stamp Night - every hour you make a card!  It is a great way to learn a lot of  new techniques, and increase your speed in making cards - you are suppose to try to complete your card in 45 minutes.  It is very fun to play!

This blogging stuff could be addictive - good heavens but this post was much longer than I thought it was going to be.  They won't all be this long!  Thanks for visiting!!  I really appreciate all of you who have checked out my blog!!  I'll be back later with more of my Saturday creations.  Thanks for visiting....Vicki
