Saturday Challenges

I wanted to play in a couple of challenges today, and than I really need to get some other stuff done.....hopefully!

I started out with my favorite Saturday challenge - Less is More. I tell you Mandi and Chrissie have the most amazing challenges. I don't know how they do it week after week, but it rocks!

This week? A one-layer card (oh I am so there!) with stripes! They think this is going to be hard for stampers- HA! Not this chick! I pulled out my Hero Arts Stripes, a template, some soft script, a feather, a sentiment, and my card is made for my son! Oh this challenge makes me very happy!

For the other challenge today, is once again PTI - Day 7 incorporate hearts. Well, shoot I can do that!

I pulled out a couple of PTI stamp sets and went to stamping. My hearts are punched out of a scrap of designer paper and mounted with popped dots. PTI is all about clean and simple cards - I think this qualifies. I don't know, does this looked balanced to you all? Hmmmm...

Just Us Girls Wild Card

This week over at Just Us Girls is the Wild Card week - Elise has challenged us to use buttons... in the middle of your image! Whatever way you use a button -- make it, punch it, use an actual button, it just has to be in the middle. Well, sheesh my first project DID NOT have it in the middle, so I adjusted it a little to accommodate this challenge.

Luckily, it was easy to add my button in the middle :). I used my only used once Nestabilities Dress Forms. Kind of fun.

I SPY Sketches - #2

So, did you play in the first week of I Spy Sketches? I hope you had fun! I know the Team and I are loving this challenge site. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already.

This week, Kim found a sketch from Beate! We all know and love her work, so this was really fun to do.

I am just loving the negative die usage I am seeing [and using]. I also used scrap dp for the triangle. This close up helps to show that, along with the sentiment that didn't show up real well in the overall photo. I just love this mirror paper for anniversary cards - it is a bitch to photograph though :).

SP & Company February Release

Fun images are being released this month over at SP & Company! Here are a few samples I made for today's release.

Sami does a color theme with her release, and this month is red. Really, there is red -- editing, kind of made it look orange, but it is red. Do you see the sewing on this? Yep, I was actually able to get my machine to work - backwards, but it worked! :) I also used the Houndstooth stamp on the main red panel in versamark (that isn't showing that good either - sheesh!) Overall, I still really like the way this card turned out.

This next set is just a fun Easter set~

Isn't he just a sweetie! I used the Circletastic as a background, and my Happy Easter is computer generated although, Sami does have an Easter sentiment releasing this month also.

This next card isn't really a "new" release, but is is for Easter, and I did make it red so, I am including it! :)

PTI Challenge and Joan's Garden

Today on PTI, the challenge is to take an inspiration from Pinterest and make a card. Well, this is an easy challenge since I do this all the time! I adore Pinterest~

This is my inspiration. I love what this stamper did, and I really love her patterns. However, when I CASE, I never re-make the card I just get inspired by it.

I used one of the "sample" paper offers from PTI, along with Think Big #4. I really like the bigger sentiments. That's it for my Day 5.
It is really awesome to see the turnout the PTI gets when they have a release. I haven't seen any other stamp company with that LARGE of a following. They have been around for 5 years, and I think they will be around for another 5! Happy 5th Papertrey~

Another challenge going on is Joan's Garden Challenge #5. I have had the pleasure of ordering through Joan. Talk about personalization! You talk to JOAN, and you also order through JOAN. She is such a pleasant Lady!

Meanwhile, the challenge this week is a Spring card, blue & white, a trellis and possibly a bird. I did all except I have butterflies rather than a bird. [Hey, they fly too :).]
I used a Hero Art stamp, Butterfly Field, along with my Cheery Lynn Lattice 2. That's it, so I am thinking this is a great CAS card! :) Oh my sentiment is Gina K Designs Botanicals. Isn't this a killer font? I just love it~

Happy Surprise Birthday Gina!!

Today we are having a fun little surprise birthday hop for our fearless leader, Gina Krupsky, the owner of Gina K Designs and developer of Stamp TV, and my boss [kind of ;)]

I thought that Gina would be able to use this cute little briefcase-post it holder. Small gift for the business person she is! (plus, I bet she uses a ton of post its in her life :).

I also made her a tiny scrapling card (1.5" x 4" size card) - these cards are so adorable in real life! With her briefcase gift, the perfect size!

PTI & One Layer Wednesday

PTI is still celebrating their 5th Anniversary today, and I had time to play in the challenge -- make a card inspired from one of the Designers. Well, naturally I chose Dawn McVey again. Another part of her style (besides CAS) is bright colors. I adore bright colors~

I used her signature DOTS (love those to) and one of my favorite layouts, along with her buttons that she does so well.

My second challenge today is the One Layer Challenge. It is nice to be able to play on the actual Wednesday, instead of a Saturday. :) I had fun with this challenge - at least 5 circles. I pulled out my Hero Arts Box of Dots (I think this retired I can't find it) and also, I was able to use SP & Company's Hug a Bug.

My sentiment is from PTI Hello Friend. Perfect size for this card.
While this card was okay, I wanted to try something else.

Yeah, this is what I am talking about! I love the graphic feel and the off balancing, while still looking balanced! (Did that even make sense?) :) Same stamp sets but a totally different effect.

Okay, I had fun playing in these 2 challenges. Now, I have to get my house clean.

SCS Color Challenge 361

Peggy over at SCS was done with V day colors, so she chose Suede, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Yellow with dessert of a brad. Well, I still was able to make a last minute Valentine's Day card! Ha - colors don't stop me!!

The paper did not photograph correctly -- its not gray really! Sheesh.

Anyway, I used some very fun Unity stamps, Straight From the Heart. I am helping a fellow stamper, Maria Levine, build her business. More Challenges!

Since my blog is open on Mondays now, I wanted to have a new post for you all, so I went shopping for challenges. Actually, I just read the emails I get sent! :)

I combined this SUPER SIMPLE CAS card for 2 challenges. The Paper Players is to have a flower, and The Pals Paper Arts is use red. HA! I love this card -- I think it rocks in its simplicity~ That fact I was able to use it in 2 challenges - total bonus! :) I would tell you who the rose is from, but I have absolutely no idea! It's cute though huh? The "forever" is from Papertrey's Framed.

This next challenge is a huge one from Papertrey Ink. It is their 5 year anniversary and they are having a blow out celebration over the next 10 days being lead by Nicole Heady. Today's challenge was to make a card being inspired from your favorite DT's list of favorites. I adore Dawn McVey. The girl started me on my CAS adventure, and I am constantly inspired by her style. She likes Raspberry Fizz buttons (I used the ink), and Mat 4 (I used Nesties Labels 4). The stamp set she liked, I don't have, so I used my Harvest Berries. I have had this set for months (!) and have never used it~ good grief. I used it like a self stamped background. My sentiment is from this same set, and Friend is from Framed. To be honest, I am not sure about this card -- it's okay, but not one that just grabs my attention. Oh well, it is late, and I am tired. There is also about 250 entries for this contest. I have 9 more challenges.... I'll be positive.

Saturday Catch Up

As usual, I am catching myself up on playing in my favorite challenges. I just love week ends -- all that time to stamp! :)

First off - it has been 1 year since Less is More has hit blogland with a bang! From the get go, these two Ladies, Chrissie and Mandi have had a hit. So many stampers out in blogland just love making Clean and Simple cards, and I am one of them! Their site is also filled with hints and techniques that work well with CAS cards. If you haven't checked out this blog, I highly recommend that you do! Meanwhile, the challenge today is AQUA. Well - naturally this challenge more than screamed my name! :)

I am really have fun with my new Bosskut Gazelle. I got these FREE Dual Hearts svg cuts from Shery K Designs. Talk about lovely! I adore stampers that share their knowledge and products with fellow stampers. She has some great, free svg's! I printed these on white paper and colored them with a copic for the AQUA challenge. My Hero Arts Clear Design Treasure comes through again. The perfect sentiment for these fun hearts.

Naturally, I also had to play in the One Layer Wednesday challenge. This week is a BIRD. I wanted to try centering on this card. I don't usually do my CAS cards centered, but Susan this week gave a little tutorial on it, and I had to at least try. Normally, I suck at getting my images centered. I think I did okay with this one. :)

Apparently, this is my blue week end. I didn't mean to use blue on both, but it just happened. :) I used the wonderful GKD stamp set By the Sea. I guess the sea is what made me use blue - lol.

And, the last card for now is from the Inspirational Challenge over at SCS. Gosh, it seems like I never get to play over at SCS hardly at all anymore! I really need to get back into them! Today's site was filled with beautiful inspiration! I chose this photo; and then I found Jay Gee's Nook with such a perfect photo I had to edit this post and enter my card~

I used the fabulous images from GKD's Nature's Greetings. Kind of perfect for a card from the inspiration huh? :) Gotta love that.

Gina K Designs February Hop - Day 1

Gosh where did January go? Poof gone! However,since it is time for another GKD new release hop - I guess that is okay! :)
Today we are featuring Melanie Muenchinger's Stately Flowers 3 -- she just keeps making these beautiful sets every month! So fun to color the beautiful flowers~

Looking for an easier way to color? On this card I stamped and cut out my flowers. Taking a big dauber, I sponged the color on to the flowers. This is a wonderful way for coloring because the more you sponge, the more depth you get in your color. Once I got the depth I wanted, I just filled in the middle with a copic. [Just a little coloring hint for you all]

This last card is just a fun way to show off gorgeous designer paper -- isn't it exciting that Gina is making her OWN! The three sets she has come out with are amazing!! (BTW, all my cards are using GKD dp) I love the mixture of patterns and colors!

We are also featuring Rupa Shevde's new set Mehndi Wishes. What a fun set!

While pinning the other night (omg- I'm addicted to Pinterest) I saw a paperclip embellie -- I just love this fun look.

Meanwhile, I went for a masculine card this week. We all need them and it is nice to have a "stash" ready to go. I made a bookmark tag using the Circletastic image. I really do like this image, it works quite well for a masculine look also. I used the designer paper from Basic Grey Kraft.

Well, you are in for a treat! I was a dweeb and forgot I had made this post, and made another card! But, that's okay - more inspiration for all of you!!

Stamp School February Release Day 3

Today is the last day of samples for the February Release over at Stamp School. All products mentioned are available for order February 1st over at the store A Walk Down Memory Lane.

My sample is just a CAS card. I used the new paper Red Hot and sponged my Sweet Tooth (white) and used Easter Blessings, along with the branch from Hannah Flying a Kite. I also made a fun felt flower. This felt is so awesome; soft and cuts beautifully in my Big Shot.

SCS Color Challenge C360

Oh I am in love with the colors this week over at SCS! Pool Party, Island Indigo and White. I took these as aqua, teal and white. Yep, in love!

I used the fun Hero Arts stamp set, Just Saying Hi. I just love this set -- too fun. (As I was linking this item, I noticed they also have a matching SVG file for this set -- which, I just had to order! :) The tag is a PTI die. I found this fun layout from one of my fellow teammates from For Your Inspiration, [and my idol for CAS, along with Susan of course :)] Debby Hughes. Oh my I adore getting her posts.

Okay, I HAD to share this! I got the downloaded SVG files to this set -- how fun is this card!!

Perfect cutting out with my new Bosskut Gazelle! My first project and I am in love! I can't believe how cool SVG files are!! :) I want one for every stamp I own! lol

JUGS #121 - 3D Challenge

Today over at Just Us Girls, Marie is challenging us to make a 3D Valentine inspired project. The other night I was perusing Pinterest (such a cool place) and was inspired by this cool photo;

I used my new Bosskut Gazelle* to cut my letters, made little half boxes, and mounted on a frame I made with my Grand Calibur. It's basic, however, it is for my DH and foo foo he isn't :). I kind of like it for a desk decoration, or it could be hung on a wall too.

When I saw the CASE Study challenge, I had to play. I just love making CAS cards!

I used the technique of striping your ribbon with copics. It's fun, and I love the look of stripes.

I also couldn't let the One Layer Wednesday 76 challenge get by without joining in. This week was white, gray with a pop of color. I think my sentiment should of been lower, but oh well next time.
On both cards, I used PTI stamps; Think Big Favorites #6, Signature Greetings, Fancy Flourishes

SP & Company Wednesday's Card

Isn't he just so fun! My guy is from Hug a Bug stamp set from SP & Company. With this set you build your own bug and you can get as creative as you want! I paper pieced the body of him this time. My paper is from Echo Park Truly Hugs & Kisses.

I have been seeing the negative use of dies, and wanted to give it a shot.

I used the Hug a Bug stamp set for my background, hearts are from Spellbinders Hearts, a Cuttlebug DOTS embossing folder, and my sentiment is computer generated. Kind of a fun little technique. I'll use the actual heart dies for a later project.

I have seen alot of white embossed images over this last Christmas season and I really love the look. My card is like the year end thaw -- trees still white but the ground is melted -- LOL. Today I am catching up with my 2 favorite challenges - One Layer Wednesday and Less is More. Love these clean and simple challenges!

I am also joining in the Featured Stamper challenge over at SCS. I had the pleasure of meeting Kim Hahn a few years ago at a stamp retreat. She is one wild and crazy girl! So fun~

I have been inspired by Susan, who is challenging herself to using all her stamps. I am going to try to do the same thing... I am also getting rid of a ton of stamps. [I have some stamps that I am wondering what was I thinking?] Meanwhile, I looked in my stamp book and pulled out these 2 images. The OLW challenge this week is making a masculine card. This image reminds me of masculine, and I used an old acrylic pad for the water spritzing technique.

I adore Pinterst. Have you checked it out? You have apply to get in, but once you are approved~ what fun! I fell in love with the colors of this photo, and had to use them!

For the Less is More Challenge, they want it cut out. This seems to be the latest trend going on out there in blogland, and I have to say I love the look! Very simple, but gorgeous. This also qualifies for my friend Karen's Outlaws Challenge -- a CAS Valentine.

That's it for me today. I am working on purging my stuff! I will be having a HUGE blow out sale -- I'm talking blow out prices too. Look for it soon~

JUGS #120 - My Challenge

PS - I wanted to let you all know that the Tim Holtz die (see this post) that dug into my plate? Well, I am happy to say I had fabulous results! An Inspired Card

My fellow Gina K Designs DT member, Melanie Muenchinger has gotten a book published based on her gorgeous stamp set A Year of Flowers. [Both are available over at Gina K Designs Store]

With all the excitement, I was inspired to pull out my set and create.

Sometime in February, the entire GKD Team will be holding a hop and using the other sets that compliment AYOF set. So, buy the book, and then see all the different ideas of complementary images that go with this beautiful set. The possibilities are endless~

I will be putting this card in to the new Stamp TV Fan Mail for next Monday. [This is where the GKD Design Team posts cards that STV members might want.] All you have to do is (become a member if you are not), leave a comment on what card you want, and on Friday the winners are picked! SCS Color Challenge and Others

Mary, over at SCS for the color challenge this week picked Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red with a dessert of Valentine's Day. I used the sketch from Wee Memories.

It is the last challenge for this site, as Jessica is moving on to other adventures. One of their sponsors is There She Goes, which was perfect! I had purchased this set Let's Get Together a couple of months ago, and haven't used it yet! Being the coffee person I am, I can't believe I didn't use it sooner! Anyway, the sketch worked perfect to highlight my awesome cup! (So reminds me of Starbucks) My sentiment is from Verve Making a Statement.

This next card is a goal I have set for myself; to play every month in the Sketch For You To Try by Jan Del Muro. I love this girl's talent, and her sketches are fabulous. I just didn't do enough of them last year! So, here is January's:

Paper & Such Challenge

My stamper friend, Julie Smith owns an online store, Paper and Such. I have been a follower of her clean and gorgeous work for years. (I found her gallery 4 years ago when I joined SCS). Anyway, Julie graciously sent me a few of her images to play with. OH HEAVEN -- lovely stamps! I have been having fun creating with her images.

This is called a Basketful of Flowers. I did a little spotlighting to accent the flower basket. I made this for my son in law -- do you think it is masculine enough?

While perusing Julie's store, I came across her Paper and Such Blog -- it has challenges! [The stuff you find in cyber space, so fun!] Well, when I saw the inspiration photo, I had to join in the fun!

I used another one of her fabulous images - Poppies. These are so gorgeous -- this is only 1/3 of the image -- the entire image is big and gorgeous! I had every intention of using sage green, but well, aqua kind of won. :) I am thrilled with my coloring (ya all know I am color challenged) - but this image was so easy to color!!
Unknown to me, both of these sets are currently on SALE! Pop on over to Paper and Such and get them before they are gone!

On a side note,an interesting thing happened to one of my Tim Holtz dies -- actually, it p.o.'d me off!

Do you see this!! (These are not sitting on top of the plate, they are CUT INTO the plate!) I cut with this die (on the card above) and [gee, thanks Tim] the ridiculous sturdiness of these dies (ha!) cut so far into my plate that it TOTALLY came out of the frame! The die is destroyed! DH had to get pilers to get it out of the C plate! ARE YOU KIDDING! This is the same die that I used 2 days ago over 30 times for labeling my stamps -- I had no problem at all........then. I am not sure WHAT I did, but I am so bummed I ruined this die! Naturally, I got it at summer CHA and can't get it replaced (w/o buying another one) -- damn.

A Couple of Challenges

Finally, I got back to the Less is More Challenge! It's been weeks, and really, I have missed this fun challenge site! This week is my favorite -- one layer card... with a bird. I used Gina K Designs Springtime Silhouettes. I also was reminded about the inking your acrylic stamp pad, spritzing it with water and stamping it on your card. I love the effect of this.

This next card was fate. I had a dream last night about this card. All white, hint of color, layered blah blah blah. When I saw the challenge over at Outlaws -- having a "White Sale" I knew I had to make this card! :) (Thanks Karen!)

I have a new love as far as dies -- Memory Box! Oh total heaven with the intricate designs, that cut like buttah! So nice to run it through once and it is cut! Love that!

Just Us Girls #119 - Collage

Over at JUGS today, Lynn is challenging us to make a collage card. When I think of a collage card, I think of layers, not necessarily stuff. So, that's how I did mine.

I used my Stamp School images from Christian Sympathy and Natural Landscape

I ADORE SS paper -- it is all 100# and are these colors beautiful or what!! Sweet Tooth and Blu Raspberry, along with the ink; Blu Raspberry, Berrylicious and Snow Cone along with Memento Black.

Ribbon Carousel Challenge 35

When I saw this inspiration photo, I knew I had to play! One of my recent purchases [and unused] is the beautiful die from Memory Box Frosty Border.. I love this intricate and delicate die. The colors spoke to me too [there's that aqua :)]

I know, I need something on the heart -- a die LOVE is really what I need! HA - I JUST GOT MY new electric cutter in Bosskut Gazelle. However, it will take me sometime to figure that out so I am going to run with this card. My heart is made from glitter paper and really is pretty in real life. I hope the photo comes through and at least shows the glitter! Once again, I had such luck using my Bowdabra the other day, that I made another bow with it. Very appropriate for Ribbon Carousel :).

Today over at SCS, Joanne is challenging us to use Red Riding Hood, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride. I used the newly released Gina K Design stamp set Stately Flowers 2. I keep seeing these different gorgeous ribbon treatments in blogland - I tried it, and really liked the way it turned out.

I pulled out my not-used-very-often Bowdabra. My fellow Team mate Betty turned me on to this a couple of years ago. It works really well with the sheer ribbon. Just another fun toy that sees more dust than it should. :)

I have been busy scheduling out my blog and I was able to find an open day! So, I jumped on my computer and went looking for some challenge~ Oh happy days I found some of my favorite challenges:
Let's start with my card

I started with the sketch from Deconstructed Sketch #33 and used the beautiful colors from Playdate Cafe 113; juniper, mint and vanilla. Ribbon Carousel is anything as long as you have a ribbon. I used Gina K Designs All Occasions Tags.

Again,with this card, I started from Freshly Made Sketch 16, and used the gorgeous colors from Pals Paper Arts 126; night of navy, baja breeze and vanilla. For this card I used Gina K Designs Follow Your Dreams, along with my favorite butterfly dies from Cheery Lynn.

Well, I certainly had fun playing today! I am so thankful for the fun challenges out there in blogland! It just makes it so fun to make cards~ :)

This is Day 3 for the Stamp School. [Check out the Stamp School Blog]. Once again, I used the Christian Sympathy stamp set. I used the fabulous [100# weight] Hot Fudge and Blu Raspberry cardstock. See those felt flowers? Yep, Lisa has some killer quality felt going on! Such bright and gorgeous colors -- and, it cut like buttah with my My Favorite Things dies - Rolled Flower and the Large Rose .

New DT Position and Day 1 Release

I am so thrilled to be asked to be on The Stamp School Design Team! We are called The Faculty. Here is some information (and link) to the NEW site! (You will so want to sign up for this one!)

At Stamp School you can expect to find quality photo-polymer stamps that are made in the USA. We release two stamp sets per month. One set is a themed image set, drawn by one of our illustrators. The other set is a sentiment set that is meant to be used on the inside of your handmade cards (although we’re sure you’ll love them so much they might take center stage on front too!).

Along with our stamps, you can also find the popular Pop-Tones card stock in 100 lb. cover stock at Stamp School. We also carry dye-based ink pads to match the Pop Tones card stock colors. If you like to match your paper and inks to felt, we have you covered there too! We have luxurious 100% wool felt to match all the Pop Tones colors. SCS Color Challenge

This is my week over at Splitcoast Stampers for the Color Challenge. I chose - Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and White, with a dessert of glitter. I used the newly released Gina K Designs, Nature's Greetings stamp set. I used score tape on the background, and covered it with glitter. I like this look actually. Very sparkly in real life. Play Date Cafe #112

Sometimes, you just need to jump in and do a challenge! I should probably be doing something else (laundry, cooking, baking) but when I saw the colors over at The Play Date Cafe, I had to play. The colors; red, light green, dark green and [I used] kraft. My Christmas cards are done for this year, so I made just a general type card.

I used my newly acquired Hero Arts/ Sizzix set On The Go. This set is so fun with those matching dies!! HEAVEN!!! My DOTS are from PTI Polka Dots Basic II.

The Shabby Tea Room #93

I just adored the colors the Shabby Tea Room had for an inspiration, that I had to play! I mean come on, kraft and red!! Love these together.

The challenge was kraft, red, silver, newsprint and a star. I used a dictionary page as my newsprint and Nesties Stars for my layered star. A CAS card, that I adore. What's not to like -- a favorite color combo and CAS. Plus, I needed to get something on my blog! I have so many future posts scheduled, I forgot about NOW! Have to keep my growing followers and email subscribers happy!! :) [Love you all -- have I mentioned that???]

Stamp TV Free For All Friday - CASE, CAS and....

This week is CASE the DT, Giovana Smith. This girl has some amazing cards in her gallery over at Stamp TV. I chose this card; I adore the colors, pattern and the beautiful red roses!

I used the fun, last of the year sketch from Clean and Simple FTL171. [I love this sketch!!]

and finally, here is mine;

I used my "go to" stamp set, GKD Vintage Backgrounds, along with the newly released Stately Flowers 1. My sentiment is from Vintage Chic. Gosh I love it when a card comes together [and I like it!] :) If you want to play in this challenge click here

On another avenue, the Happy Scrappy store [they sell my favorite Cheery Lynn dies!] is running a card contest (using of course CL dies) from today through December 31st. The prize? $150.00 store credit! Well count me in for that potential. That's like a lot of FREE dies.......oh that makes me very happy :).

This week over at Just Us Girls is a color challenge of Kraft, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. Even though my card looks red, it really is Cobbler --[ bad photo Vicki, bad photo :)] I used a mixture of stamps - scroll is Rubbernecker Flourish 530-10, script is PTI Background Basics Text Style and the flower and leaves are Hero Arts Playful Flowers and Butterflies (dies included!)

Gina K Designs DT Nature's Greetings Blog Hop

Here is my Nature's Greetings card:

I used my favorite technique, direct to paper with Tim Holtz distressed ink; mustard seeds, evergreen bough, and broken china. I just adore the look of this technique - and the best, is it just so easy! I love easy~ :) [My printed background is from Vintage Backgrounds.]

For an additional treat for you, I made these CAS Christmas cards [with a few other sets GKD has] -- just in case you need some fast, last minute Christmas cards~

I used the poinsettia from Melanie's A Year of Flowers, and the mc from the Wishing You Joy Kit. The white dots are added with a Sakura Pen Touch White Fine Point [from Mike's].

I used gold embossing powder with a couple of the Wishing You Joy Kit images.

This card I used the gnome image [cut off his ears to look more like Santa] from Tami's set, Gnome One Like You.

3 easy CAS cards, that are easily mailed! No rips, tears and, postage is 44 cents! :) Have to like that.

Oh so fun - More Challenges!

I love getting blogs by email -- it is so fun to find new challenge sites! I found Paper and Such. Their challenge is a quickie, last minute Christmas card! LOL Well, naturally I had to play in this challenge!

I grabbed my Hero Arts/Sizzix set Holiday Cheer. I LOVE THESE SETS WITH DIES! Oh my gosh it makes me so happy not to have to cut out my images! AND cuuuuuuuuuuute or what! I think he is so fun with his sweater! I think this 5 min card qualified as quick and last minute~

Then, I popped over to Simplicity and low and behold, Susan is running her One Layer card challenge! I haven't played in this challenge in so long -- I really missed it! So, off to create a "peaceful" one layer card.

I used the water spritzing technique on this card. Because it is regular cardstock, it has a different effect then water color paper. I used Tim Holtz distress ink Mustard Seed. I am not sure about this card. However, it is "peaceful" and the sentiment just had to be used. (Susan I know you will appreciate this!) I'm thinking maybe my sentiment should of been stamped higher on the image.(??) One thing about my friend Susan, she will tell me [if I ask] and I am asking. She is all about balance. I am still on the learning curve for that. I'll get there.... eventually.
My stamps are both Hero Arts. I won the image from Paper Crafts (and so much more - fabulous goodie box let me say!) and the sentiment is ClearDesign Treasure CL155.

Okay - I had fun tonight -- 3 cards 3 challenges -- very productive!

The Shabby Tea Room

I found another challenge site (it's far from new, just new to me) - The Shabby Tea Room. They had the most fabulous inspiration photo, and you need to have a stocking on your card.

I grabbed my Gina K Designs Wishing You Joy stamp set, (sadly these are the only stockings I have) and it worked perfect! I realize there is no red in the photo, however I love a little pop of red when I use green. :)

SCS Color Challenge

I love the colors this week that Mary chose - Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, and Cherry Cobbler. By the looks of it, I think, unfortunately, I got black ink in my Always Artichoke ink pad. I found another blog challenge over at Scrapmaster's Paradise - use pine green. Since I am done with my Christmas cards, and I got this fun phone set from Hero Arts, I had to use it! Don't you just love this phone - ha! The memories~ :) Just a very simple CAS card that really I LOVE!

I saw these fun bookmarks last week and had to make them! While in Vegas, I picked up the Spellbinders Decorative Dress Forms dies and finally got to make them today. I have to thank Beate, her videos are just outstanding and being a visual leaner, perfect for me!! She made it so easy to make these! I am giving these as gifts to my co-workers. Aren't they so fun!!

Gina K Designs CSS Treaure Chest Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Gina K Designs CSS Hop! You should be coming from the beginning! Today Carolina has in her treasure chest challenge to make a holiday or New Year's Eve gift holder. I made a post-it holder for those New Year resolutions :). I used this tutorial over at SCS. Meanwhile, here is my finished result:

I used the butterfly from Dogwood and Butterfly and the sentiment from Bold & Beautiful. I used the gorgeous GKD Blue Raspberry cardstock and some GKD White Luxury cardstock. A Martha Stewart punch, and Spellbinders circles and lacy circles.

Less is Clean

The fun challenge over at Less is More this week is a one layer think snow card. I love sponging within a template and snowflakes work for a New Year's card - actually, quite well I think. I loosely followed the Clean and Simple sketch 170.

My snowflakes are from SU from like 11 years ago (!) and my sentiment is Hero Arts Merry Christmas Trees.

A Few Fun Challenges

For some reason I am struggling getting back into stamping after my mini vacation! I think it is because my Christmas cards are all done [and mailed!], so I don't want to make any more. Meanwhile, my stamp room has boxes and boxes of cards that I need to get sold! My goal is to get a website and upload them for people to browse at their leisure and hopefully buy some! Oh good grief enough about my goals~ :)

This card is made for Freshly Made Sketches #14, Cheery Lynn Designs #5 (gold and silver), and Pals Paper Arts #123 Puttin on the Bling. I used the butterfly and scroll dies from Cheery Lynn, and I used my hoarded glitter gold, silver and white papers. When making an elegant card, I always go to my Verve stamps -- I adore the fonts. This sentiment is from One Person.

I just love taking white pigment and running it direct to paper! By using the kraft base, I think I picked up the wood from the photo. A few stripes, and some twine and my entry is done. My mc is from Hero Arts Holiday Sayings.

Crafty JC - Guest Designer

How fun! My card was picked out of 90 entries and Crafty JC asked me to Guest Design! We were to make a winter ABC (anything but a card) project. While my project isn't "winter" per se, it makes for an excellent gift, and I make myself one of these every year and use it daily!

Pick up a small stand up photo holder (mine is 3x5) - cut dp and slide it inside. Print off a free downloadable calender adhere with a brad and mount on photo holder. Ready for your desk! I kept this one really basic, but you can do so much with these fun calenders! Go for it!! Pop on over to Crafty JC and play! Who knows, you might be the next Guest Designer!
