Total Playing Around!

The other day I was playing with ink sprays and made some backgrounds.  I had one that I really liked and wanted an image that would show it off.

I went through my arsenal of stamps and came up with this perfect image from Technique Tuesday; Budding Poppies.  For the stunning and bright background I used Dylusions Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange & Bubblegum.  The Hello is also Technique Tuesday; Straight Talk - Hello.

Regarding a hint of using the ink sprays for excellent blending, I made the following chart [courtesy of Dyan];

Just follow the above steps and WALA - awesome background!  I do have to say, the sprays [while messy] are so fun to play around with!  I adore the vivid color they create.

For some reason, last week I was exposed to colored pencils - everywhere I turned; FB, online, a customer I ran into at the gym.  Well, when fate speaks like that, I listen.  Therefore, I pulled out my only-used-once Prisma Colored Pencils, went to You Tube, watched a few colored pencil videos, and went to work.

Using the same image as above, this is what I created;

I am happy with this.  Yeah, there are a couple of tweaks that could be made, but overall it's okay.  My problem is I have to be in the mood for coloring.... and the time it takes.  I am an impatient stamper.  That said, it might be a while before you see more colored pencil projects on my blog. :)

Hope you all had a crafty week end!  See you tomorrow~

Thanks for stopping by~

Very pretty! I have several ink sprays (if by that you mean like glimmer mist type sprays???) and I should use them. Nice coloring.

These are both stunning! I love the background on your first card with the outline stamping, but I am most impressed with your coloured pencil colouring. I love coloured pencils! Xx
