Challenges!

I watched the [fabulous] Laura Bassen's  Make It Monday #193, Camouflaging Die Cuts video over at Capture the Moment for Papertrey.  I have seen her do this technique before, but I can watch over and over, because I always forget something doing this super fun technique.  [I'll show you at the end of this post.]

I had every intention of making a birthday card, until I got a text saying my friend's father passed away.  Sympathy card needed asap.  This technique is perfect for a soft made card.  I used the With Sympathy die from Simon Says, and my stand by, butterfly die from PTI.  I think that is one of my most perfect purchases from PTI.  I just love this set - it's timeless.
Because of the products I used I am entering into Simon Says Monday Challenge; bling -- Simon Says Wednesday Challenge; anything goes, Dies R Us #16; anything goes [using a die], and of course. PTI Make It Monday #193; Camouflaged Dies.

So yeah, you wanna see my first attempt?
For some reason there was a flaw along the side of my card panel that just wouldn't take color -- then, I lost the teeny tiny pieces of die cuts and wow that looks funny without them.  So yeah, called for a re-do for sure!

Thanks challenges for being there today - and Laura, you are amazingly creative!

Thanks for stopping by~ If you have a question, please leave an email so I can answer you :)

I love the band of color that echoes the color in the butterfly's wings.

Great card Vicki! Hanging onto the little die cut pieces is tricky - they like to attach to elbows & shows :)
