Taking some time to Play

I am taking some time today to join in a coupe of challenges I came across in blogland.  I have all these stamps that I am so.not.using, and I WANT TO!  So, I am.

Simon Says Blog is running their month challenge of showing what we made during  October using their images. I bought this set, Holiday Labels last year and I haven't even used it until today! ......sheesh.  I used the wanna sketch #21 for my layout.

DDWS21

I went on to play in the Butterfly Challenge #17 - emboss butterflies, and I used the Freshly Made Sketch #159.

I used one of my favorite Hero Arts set, Antique Engravings, along with PTI's Think Big Favorites #24.
On both cards today, I used the Highlighted Embossing Technique that I found HERE.  I really like the way it pops the embossed image.

I had so much today!  Thanks to all you challenges out here in blogland.  So glad you are around :).

Thanks for stopping by~

Both your cards are so striking, Vicki!! Love the bright green and the pinkish red on the first card!! The hexagons with the snowflakes are great and I like the stripy bg and the cute twine bow!! Lovely X-mas card!!!
And for the butterflies - now are those great or what!!!??? Stunning, Vicki!!!! You have really nailed that technique!!! Great colours, love the triangles as part of the bg and the black edge make your colours pop so nicely!!! That butterfly looks so real to life I think it is going to fly off you card any second!!! I do like that sentiment stamp, too - lovely!!!
Two great cards, Vicki!!!

Have a super day!!!

Oh my goodness, Vicki: these are show-stopping, knock-out cards! Isn't using NBUS fun? Your debut of your last year's set: fabulous! And those embossed butterflies...swoooning! They're gorgeous, elegant, stunning! As Mrs. A's *GD commenter*, THANK YOU for sharing this gem at the Emboss Your Butterfly Challenge! I'm off to scope out that technique you used...
