Freshly Made & Cardabilities

It seems like 2014 is the year of sketches for me. I am trying to step up my cards and sketches are a great way to do that.  I'll still do CAS cards, but periodically I want to add some challenge to myself too.

I am starting today with Freshly Made Sketches #119;

I totally loved the angled panel on the sketch, and while it could of been a CAS card, I layered it.  I used the new Inspired By Stamping designer paper from Spring Lilacs Paper Pad, an image from Spring Lilacs and a sentiment from I Love You Because.

My next sketch is from Cardabilities #91.  Couple of tidbits regarding this blog - I made Featured Designer last week (!) and I also made the Design TEAM starting in February!  Now, that people, is pretty darn exciting, and  it follows along with my 2014 challenge of making my cards more elaborate.  Karan has pretty darn awesome sketches!!

I was able to incorporate some of the fun STAMPloration images from VIGNETTE Chevron & Arrows, along with a sentiment.  My butterflies are from my new Hero Arts set, Antique Engravings.  And yes, I was able to make cut outs from my Cameo!  [Gosh, I am so loving this machine now! :)]  I am also entering this into a new to me challenge, Catherine & Cathy Create; use arrows. [under the bfly ;)]

 TIP:  See the splatter on my card?  I sprayed some ink on a piece of paper from my glue dot roll and then "flicked" it on to my paper!  The ink beads up on the dot paper and flicked off perfectly!   [Yeah, a great tip from Pinterest!]

Spray paper with ink

            Flick back of paper with finger

Thanks for stopping by~
