Where Bloggers Create - 2012

I am joining in this FUN hop of crafting spaces.  This is the 4th year and WOW are there a lot of participants!  It is going to take days [and a lot of coffee] to get through all of these.  That's okay - I am always looking for ideas for storage in my stamp room, and I love seeing where people create!  The Hostess, Karen Valentine, keeps this on her blog My Desert Cottage for the next year until the new hop in 2013.

Let's get started with mine: It is the 3rd bedroom in my house, and it's all mine.  I love my room :)

I have a lot of before and after photos, along with some storage ideas I currently use.  [Get that coffee -- its going to be a long picture filled post.]

I have done some re organizing and sprucing up for this hop.  It is kind of like company coming  -- you clean before they come visit right?

Here was my stamp room

This is now - Oh I am so happy with this transformation.

COPICS storage
I had DH cut a drain spout that my fil had in his garage.  I [double sided ] taped them together, and put some cardboard in the back so they stay forward.  I got this idea over at Splitcoast Stampers.

INK storage - Can I just say cassette holders are awesome! :)

Good heavens I am shocked every time I look up!  Who has this much ink? Eeek! These are all within arms reach.  The 2nd photo I made colored labels for all 4 sides of Tim Holtz ink [So much easier to put them way].

DIE storage
I store my Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies in jewel cases, with magnetic strips.  I have CD labels and a template so I can label all cases.  I love this system.  I can see what I have and grab only what I need.

I made a book to hold the misc impressibility folders,  borders, and longer dies.
[I need to replace the tabs so they are more consistent]

OTHER DIES

I used mini file dividers labeled by company, and again, I used magnetic sheets so I don't loose them.
Cubbies BEFORE:

While, it worked for me - I knew where everything was, I HATED the cluttered looking mess.
Aww - SO MUCH better now.

STAMP storage

Since I am on the Gina K Designs Design Team, I am fortunate to have an amazing collection of stamp sets.  I used Tim Holtz Brackets to make stamp set labels and attached to the actual set, and then I file them alphabetically by Illustrator.  My baskets are labeled with the illustrator's name.  I keep a master ring of all sets, again by illustrator.  Once I find the image I want to use from my master, finding the set [alphabetically] is easy.

My other stamps [other companies], are in cd cases, or in baskets.  I really do not buy stamps at this point.  Between the 85 SU sets I have [I started stamping 16 years ago], which are in my closet, the few misc stamps I have purchased - I have stamps to last me a lifetime. Plus, I get new ones every month from GKD :).  I struggle selling any of my stamps!  You never know when you might need that ONE image. :)

I use a dresser for my Big Shot.  I had my SU stamps in the drawers, but I wasn't using them all that often, so off to the closet those went.  I now use the drawers for my scratch paper [by color], and my cuttlebug folders etc.  Again, I have labeled the drawers for convenience.

I found this garage sailing - $5! [Can you say CHA CHING]

check it out
BEFORE just a regular shelf -- boring and too high to even reach!

AFTER - at this point I have my jars of twine and washi tape in this cupboard.  I just got it put up last night, I am sure I will fill it up soon enough.

Okay, one more item to show you (I have more but this post is already too long) - In the stamping world, I am known for the gems I have in all my card photos.  I get a lot of comments, so I feel it is appropriate to show you how I store all the different colored gems I have.

This magnetic board is right above my photo tent and within reach, but totally out of the way of my actual work space.  It works perfect for me.

That's it for my stamping space.  I hope I gave you a storage idea or two.  I am off to go peruse all the other blogs participating.  AND, KAREN thank you so much for hosting this event.  I had a great time, and I got a cleaner stamp space from it!

Wow Vicki! You are the Ink Queen! I'm a papercrafter (punches, layers, adhesives mostly) and am trying to think of a way to store my punches. I love the bars you have- everything within reach and easy to see~ thanks for the inspiration!

I do hope you'll have time to come by and visit (you'll see the tubs of my punches) this weekend.

Thanks for sharing,

Michaele

Im not a stamper, but if I was then this would be the place to dream about. Its an interesting craft and I like how you are able to use one same stamp to create such a very different designs and styles, that takes a lot of creativity. You have also very clever storage ideas, the drain spouts are super neat (would be cool for my ink pens).

Thank you for sharing your space, it was a treat to look and read.

Great space, Vicki. Love all your copics. I'm just getting to hear about them, so I might be checking them out this weekend at the craft store. Love to stamp, but I keep it pretty simple. Currently trying to get my husband to enjoy his artistic gifts again so that I may combine his illustrations with my love of tags.
Keep creating!
Much love,
Marcia
