A Few Challenges

I need to get back into playing in more challenges!  I miss them, and I miss being challenged.  Sometimes, the challenges are just fun as in this first one, The Play Date Cafe; Splash of Blue.

I adore splash of color challenges.  I must say I really love this photo also.  I might have to use that in the future! :)  Meanwhile, here is my card for this challenge.

I love this fun set from GIna K Designs, Live Life Loud.  It makes such an awesome masculine card.  Not necessarily a "pop" of blue, but I like the way I used it.  Actually, funny story, this card was inspired by a customer I had on Friday.  I was instantly inspired when I saw his shirt!  I drew it out on paper so I wouldn't forget.  This challenge was perfect to use my "inspiration".  That doesn't happen to me very often (being inspired) .  I sure love it when it does though!  Edited: Piss I missed the cut off - oh for goodness sake! :(

My next challenge is one of my favorites - Less Is More. This week is a definite challenge for me, paper piecing. I really struggle with this technique, and I really don't like doing it (because it is a struggle.) However, I did say I needed to be challenged.

I paper pieced the skirt on this fun image from Gina K Designs, Celebrate in Style.Paper piecing  is a fun technique, [when it works :)].  The dp I used is the GKD in-house patterned paper, Berries and Vines.

Thanks for stopping by~

Your paper piecing dress is fabulous, Vicki. I love this technique, but sure had a tough time with it. You are right - it's great... when it works!

I love your splash of blue card! I'm so sorry that you missed the cut off.

And I think you should do MORE paper-piecing. This card is gorgeous!

Well the paper piecing certainly worked here Vicki! I love the dress form image and I like the way you picked up the pattern in the background panel too.

Don't you just love to be challenged? and do techniques or things you wouldn't have done when there wasn't a (LIM) challenge?
Your card is great. I really like the colours you used, and the image is just great.

What a neat grunge card, inspired by that customer's shirt! I've had that happen to me. I did just what you did, and jotted down the design before my brain let go of it!

The paper pieced dress is SO pretty. And I'm glad you've gotten some time to just 'play', no DT stuff, just fun!

Well Vicky it certainly doesn't look like you struggled with the paper piecing card at all - it's fabulous! Love the touch of blur in your other card.
