Simply Less

I had some time to play in my 2 favorite challenges -- One Layer Wednesday - red and white, and Less Is More - a star.   I suppose I could of combined these 2 challenges, but I was in the mood to create 2... so, I did.

On my OLW card, I made an ornament template (Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments) out of acetate and sponged the inside, I then used GKD Heirloom Ornament stamp set, and stamped on top. My Merry Christmas is from Repeat Impressions. I know the challenge was red and white, so I hope this works having my mc in black...  EDITED: This also works for Giovana's challenge over at Stamp TV - a One Layer Christmas card.

For my Less is More CAS card, I used the newly released GKD stamp set, Strength & Hope.  My star is cut with Spellbinders Stars, out of red glittered paper.

Gina K Designs CSS Sketch Hop

To see who is hopping today, click here.

Isn't this a great sketch that Melissa made! Love it - you can go simple or go elaborate, whatever you choose. I went with a more masculine card -- I always need more of those! Using the dp from the STV Stamp Kit, along with the new freebie paper Gina gave us (doesn't she rock!) this is my card. I sponged in my striped panels with a dauber and red ink. Kind of like that technique of "changing the color". I used GKD Celebrate the Season for my main focal panel. Not to hard of a card to make!

Have fun on the rest of the hop today! Pop on over to SUE MORRIS - You will see some terrific inspiration I have no doubt!  One random commenter will win their choice of stamp set up to $24.95!!  Good luck!

JUGS Challenge

This week over the Just Us Girls is the Wildcard Challenge -- Elise has challenged us to alter a frame.
I didn't alter a frame, as much as make one.  I saw a picture in a magazine (forgot to take the photo of it) and I was inspired to make this.
I just love the layered corners.  I probably should of made it a Christmas theme, but I am still not really in  the mood for Christmas.  [I know -- I had better get it in gear - It will be here before I know it! :)]  I used Verve's stamp set - Delightful & Delicious.  Actually, this would be a great gift for my boss -- Starbucks Manager, yep -- coffee -- yep.  That works perfect~ oh goodie :)!
Meanwhile, come on over and check out the other DT's projects, then, alter your frame (or make one) and join in the fun!!

CPS241 and CTD165

I came across the Card Positioning Sketch 241 and really liked it. I made it with the Color Throwdown 165 colors; peach, old olive, daffodil delight and pool party.

I used the newly released Gina K Designs stamp set, Strength & Hope, illustrated by Theresa Momber.  My butterfly is Cherry Lynn.  Have I mentioned how I adore dies!! :)
I think I am in the mood to make some ABC (anything but a card) projects for small Christmas presents.  With all the different "12 Days of Christmas" hops going on, it has put me in the mood to create~
So, I might see you later... Thanks for stopping by~

Papertrey's October Blog Hop

Papertrey is running their Customer Blog Hop - I am a tad late to the party, but what the heck, I wanted to join in anyway.  This month we are to make a card from this inspiration photo:

I was really inspired by this, and came up with this card:

I picked up on the colors (naturally), and the DOTS -- my happy place.  My chandelier is a free download (?), and I used PTI's Basic Dots II, Background Basics: Text Style and Gratitude Journal.  Another fun challenge -- with a fabulous prize (if I win!) --

Gina K Designs DT Blog Hop - Day 2

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a great week end.  Today, we are featuring the awesome Wishing You Joy Stamp Kit.  I bet you have seen some wonderful samples today.  Here are mine:

For my first project, I made a small photo book of my puppies first Christmas. I will be adding some verbiage on the blank pages, and give this to DH as a Christmas stocking stuffer. This really was fun to make! [If you want the directions, please leave me a comment and I will get back to you.]

I also made a card. I just love those liquid pearls! They are so fun to add to my cards~
[The leaves on this card are from Hope Grows]

And finally, this was my Release party card:

That's it for today's hop.  I hope you had fun~ Hope to see you tomorrow!

Here are the participating DT''s in case you wanted to check it out~

SCS Color Challenge and MIM for PTI

Papertrey has a technique on the Make It Monday video today, brayering an impression plate.  I wanted to try this, but rather then brayering it, I used direct to paper with my ink pad.

Same effect, hopefully works for PTI.  On the other hand [challenge], the colors Mary chose this week are Razzelberry, Indio Blue and Baja Breeze.  I used the Baja Breeze on my impressed piece (I don't have that paper color), and used ribbon I had, which was close to Indio Blue (which, I also do not have) So, I guess overall I stretched both challenges a tad bit, but the card works for me! :)  I used Spellbinders Flower Silhouette Impressibilities, along with PTI's Butterfly Dreams (with die) and Think Big Favorites #1.

Featured Stampers SCS and STV

The Featured Stamper over at SCS Deborah, has a beautiful gallery.  Then again, she was a Dirty Girl at one point.  I found this fun card to CASE.

Here is mine. I used the colors for Color Throwdown; pumpkin, razzelberry, olive, black. Halloween colors, but I am so done with Halloween cards and such, I went with a friendly little Hi card.
My rosette flower is a TIm Holtz Rosette die. My electric Big Shot made this 10 min card more like 30 minutes! The darn thing kept stopping - half way through the cutting! So frustrating when tools don't work correctly!

My next Featured Stamper is from Stamp TV, one of my fellow DT's, Donna Baker.  Again, a fabulous gallery. I chose this card to CASE.
Here is mine;
I used an embossed resist for my background and Spellbinders Labels 18.  I used the Gina K Design stamp set, A Year of Leaves, illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.   You can come over to Stamp TV and join in Cat's CASE the DT challenge -- you could be the winner of your choice of stamp set up to $24.95!!
I really do love CASEing other stamper's creations -- so much easier! :)

It was so great to make 1 purchase and they all come together; stamps and dies~ yep - HEAVEN! [I got this set at Ellen Hutson.]  I will so be getting more of these sets!  I adore Hero Arts stamps and NOW with dies.....Oh yeah!!
I am also entering this in the Twin Marker challenge of florals.  Can't win those markers unless you play!  Also entering in Flutter By Wednesday #176 -- open challenge as long as you have a butterfly or Fairy!  I believe this qualifies :), and for Wee Memories - anything goes

JUGS #107 - Template Challenge

This week on Just Us Girls Challenge is a Halloween themed template challenge.  I love drawers - can't have enough small storage, or a great card holder.  I used the template here.  My chandelier is a free download, but I don't remember where from.  [Sorry about that].  I made my flower with the Tim Holtz die cut.
Come over, see the other Team's samples and play!
