Stampin B's 126

This week Emily, over at the Stampin B's,  is challenging us to use a clip or pin on your card.  I hope you can actually see my pin.  See that little red dot - yep, that's it. I made my bow a tad looped, but I was in the mood. :)  I have decided the latest dp out there right now, is just awesome.  It just practically makes the card itself!  I used Mark's Finest Papers newly released stamp set Butterflies & Wisteria.  MFP also sells hat pins, and the price is very doable!  Come on over to the Stampin B's and upload your clip or pin card!

SCS Color Challenge

I am Karen Barber's sample maker for the SCS Color Challenge.  This week -- major challenge for me anyway - Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral, More Mustard.  I don't have any Calypso Coral so I used orange.  Not quite coral, but that's all I had.  I used some of my old stamps - the jar is Inkadinkado, the jelly beans are a SU from 1994!  The dots (dessert is self made dp) are PTI Polka Dots Basics.  I can say, I won't be using these colors again, but doable for the challenge!  :)  I used the sketch from Paper Players CAS Sketch #61.

Stamp TV Challenges

Suzanne Dean challenged us this last Friday for a sketch with a twist of rainbow colors.  I took it literally and used all colors with the direct to paper technique.  I have decided that GKD's Various Verses is really my favorite set from this last release.  I just love the solid flower image!!  Perfect for stamping over backgrounds.

For today's challenge, Tina Gilliland challenged us to use a sentiment only for stamping.  This is such an easy challenge with all the beautiful designer paper out now now!  I went back to an older GKD stamp set Christ is Risen, illustrated by Nina Brackett.  I thought this sentiment went well with this gorgeous musical dp.
I think I am pretty much caught up with the challenges I wanted to play in.  Now I need to do some "future" stuff... :)  You'll see it soon enough~~
Thanks for stopping by!  Oh yeah - if YOU want to play in either of these fun challenges pop on over to Stamp TV and join in!  We'd love to have to play!!

SCS CAS Challenge - Guest Designer

Today I was a Guest Designer for the SCS CAS challenge!  What better challenge than that!  This week Jen challenged us to use kraft with any bright colors.  Not sure that is a "challenge" - so easy and I do love kraft!
I also stayed with my "go to" sketch for a CAS card.  I just love this layout!

I've been gone for the week end so I have some catching up to do -- you might be inundated with cards tomorrow... :) -- Gotta get to creating... I'll be back

Stampin B's 125 - Round Card

Brenda is challenging us to make a Round or Easel Card - I opted for round.  I used the fun new set Black Eyed Susans for Encouragement.  A couple of scraps of dp and this card was done.  Very easy -- thanks to my Spellbinder's!  I just love dies!!! (Heaven, I tell ya, Heaven!)  Wanna join in the fun?  Well, come on over to the Stampin B's and upload your card!

SCS Challenges

This is for the SCS Color Challenge - yellow, red, blue with dessert of school, and this also is for Stamp TV's Mix It Up Monday Challenge - anything school.  I used GKD stamp set Back To School.  This was the first set I ever received from GKD - way back when I made Center Stage Spotlight!   So fun to be able to use older images!

This card was for the "Hot" CAS Challenge over at SCS for Monday.  This image is a DOTS stamp that I literally have had forever!  When I saw the challenge "Hot" I instantly thought of this image -- and I used the perfect HB (with font) from MFP.  This is for my "hot" hubby! :)  He'll love it!

Paper Players and My TIme Made Easy Challenges

The Paper Players this week have a fun CAS sketch, and MTME has one of my favorite color combos - kraft, red and turquoise.  My 20/25 anniversary (married 20 - dating 25) is coming up next week and I needed a card for DH.  The inside says "I love you more everyday."  I love the font that Gina uses on her Masculine Messages  stamp set- just perfect for my hubby.

This is my Featured Stamper card from SCS.  Korin from SweetandSassy was the lucky girl this week.  I used the newly released MFP Black Eyed Susans for Encouragement

That's it for me today.  Hope you are all having great week end - Thanks for stopping by~

What If Wednesday Sketch

Another challenge for me this week.  This is a sketch from What If Wednesdays.  I liked this sketch, it was fun!  I used my new Verve Life is Good.  Just a little sentiment that works quite well with this layout.  Another fun challenge for this week!

The Free For All Challenge over at Stamp TV this Friday is CASE the DT - Cat.  I love Cat's style - CAS and a lot of kraft.  Obviously, I passed on the kraft today.  I used GKD's newly released stamp set Various Verses.  I adore this set -- the bigger sentiments are wonderful!  I also used the spritzed watercolor background.  Want to join?  Come on over to Stamp TV and check out Cat's gallery - it's filled with wonderful cards!!
Thanks for stopping by~  Vicki

Gina K Designs DT Hop

[click here for Stampin B's ]

Join us in a Double Take hop! Members of Gina K.'s Design Team have come together to host a hop where we will show you how to make cards using the same products and stamp images to create two very different cards.
I am first this time in this fun hop! (I love that :))  You can head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop if you like.

I used the fun GKD set Gnome One Like You, illustrated by Tami Mayberry.  I made a tag with a matching candle (see directions here),  Here is the card.

And, my 2nd project, using the same stamp images, along with the same supplies:

I really like this tiny card (2x2) which, will go on the bag that will hold the above goodies! :)
Have fun with the rest of the hop!  You need to pop over to Tina Gilliland's blog next.

A Couple of New Challenges

I am trying to play in more blog challenges. [I can't build up my stash of stamps without playing in the challenges ;)] When I saw My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC33) and The Play Date Cafe Color Challenge (PDCC95)- (pink, green and navy). I decided to play and combine these 2 challenges.  I was quite thrilled to find in my stash a set of My Favorite Things stamp set - Grow, Love Plant a Tree.  My leaves are Nestabilities Spellbinders along with a ms fern punch, and the sentiment is from Verve.   Wish me luck~  Thanks for stopping by~

Stampin B's - Distressing

This week over at the Stampin B's your challenge is to use distressing on your card.  Unfortunately, I need this card -- sadly, my brother in law passed away on Tuesday.  Though he has been ill, it came as a huge shock - my prayers are with you Janice. This card is on it's way to you with all our love.
I used the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers Floating Along.  All papers are also from MFP.

Friday & Monday STV Challenge

Last Friday, Lee's challenge was to make a bookmark.  I can always use another bookmark, but this one is for my DH.  He has this book -- daily do list -- he needs this bookmark.  He has pages (!) of things to do -- all on his own!  No honey-do list from me - no sirree -- :).  I made my bookmark on acrylic acetate.  I made these like a year ago and I just love they way they slide over the page to hold your place.  I used the adorable GKD Basket Buddies set -- we have 2 puppies and DH spends alot of time with them.  Perfect image.

Now, Donna's Stamp TV Monday challenge is to make a striped background.  I adore stripes (I also love dots) - I just made the background my focal image.  I used the GKD Various Verses and my sentiment is from GKD Follow Your Dreams.  I went with a "watercolor" image -- ink up your image and spritz with water, stamp -- it comes out  little muted and looks watercolored.  So easy and I love the end result.

I found this layout and just loved it.  No reason for the card except to share a fun layout with all my peeps.  Have I mentioned lately how much I appreciate all of YOU out there!  Really, without you why should I have a blog... :).  I was telling a fellow stamper the other day it breaks my heart when peeps unsubscribed from the email notification.  I always wonder why?  So thanks loyal readers - please know I appreciated all of you! :)

Glad I found my mojo -- it really left for a couple of days.  I just hate that -- but I sure love it when it returns.  You all have a fabulous stamping day -- thanks for stopping by~

Paper Players Challenge & Fun Stuff

The Paper Players are running a color challenge this week.  I really struggle with using pinks -- I have no problem with reds, but pinks not so much.  So, I forced myself out of my box to play in this challenge - Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink.  I have been playing around with the mixed media technique on cards and today a tag.  I love this type of stamping -- total freedom and lots of fun.  I hope using black was okay with this challenge!

Like I said, I have been really enjoying using mixed media on my cards.  Actually, I did get a journal the other day, but I am afraid I will mess it up LOL -- this way I get to practice before I get to my journal! :)  I just can't get over how much fun this is to do.  I guess the only hassle of it is getting all the different stamps out that I want to use.  I can't even list what I used since I used sooo many~ and what was really great was I used stamps that have been in my drawer for months.... untouched.  Free stamping ~~I love it.  Get out those buried stamps and play!!

Less Is More and Clean & Simple

The Less is More challenge 28 is awesome this week.  Use your inks on a one layer card.  Well, I have no problem with that challenge, in fact, I LOVE THIS challenge!  I made a template from some cardboard for my sponging, along with a couple of post its for the division of colors.  Do you notice how black my image is?  I have to share with you all - I got some Versafine Onyx Black ink, made by Tsukineko.  WOW!  This ink is the most blackest black ink ever! I just love it for solid images and sentiments.  (Doesn't work with copics though :)) Speaking of which, my image and sentiment are from Gina K Designs Botanicals.
My sketch is from Clean & Simple FTL 153, and they are teaming up with CAS-ual Fridays - CFC 15 - 2 for one.  Gotta love that.  Overall, this one layer 10 min card = 3 challenges.  Nothing wrong with that!
