Stampin B's 117

This week over at the Stampin Bee's, Faith challenged us (you too!) to use 2 die cuts and piercing on our cards.   I used a tag die and leaf and flower, along with piercing my tag edges.  Just a CAS birthday card for an easy peasy challenge!  HB is from Mark's Finest Papers Poppies, Poppies Poppies.  Want to join in?  Come on over to the Stampin B's and upload your card!

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak ---- :)

Hi Everyone - gosh it seems like forevah since I posted for you all!  DH & I headed out to Atlantic City.  It is very pretty there, and I LOVED the surrounding water!  Just check out the beach!  It was really quite fabulous to look at~

While in Atlantic City I had the extreme pleasure of meeting 2 of my fellow DT's - Andrea Ewen (from the Dirty Dozen) and Colleen Dietrich (from Mark's Finest Papers).  It was so nice of them to drive in (Colleen 2 hours and Andrea 1 hour) to meet me!  We all hit it off like fast friends, did some lunch, did some shopping - stopped at Starbucks for [much needed] coffee, and then, more shopping!  The afternoon flew by so fast and it made a fabulous memory for me!!
This is the Girls!  Andrea on the left and Colleen on the right.  Oh Colleen is famous!  She had a news interview regarding Operation Write Home.  She did such a wonderful job - the perfect voice for an interview.  You can see it here.   I had to show this fabulous picture of them -- see how young and fresh they are!  (I used to photograph like this -- not sure what happened...oh yeah the 50's! lol)
Thanks Girls - I had a blast and it was fabulous to meet both of you!!

I also wanted to get a card uploaded.  I had to play in Susan's One Layer Wednesday.  This week was overlapping colors.  Susan is pretty easy on her challenge, so I think this qualifies.  There isn't a lot of white, but there are overlapping colors.  I used my favorite Direct to Paper technique, I did do Susan's one layer:
However, once done I wasn't impressed and wanted a touch more, so I stamped another element and popped it up.  I like this better.  I used Gina K Designs Elegant Elements, along with Masculine Messages.
Oh yeah, I used one of my pins for my inspiration.

I am really enjoying the Pin Interest site.  It's pretty awesome - go to ANY website (Crate & Barrel is a great example) click into a category (say bedding) - click Pin It, and it brings up just ALL the photos and none of the verbiage.  I go through them and pick out what inspires me.  Very easy, and very cool!

Well  my blogger friends -- this post was so much longer than I expected.  I don't think I can go without posting an entire week again --  to much information to be covered!  Bawahaha!
Thanks for stopping by~

CSS Alumni June 24 Blog Hop

I never had time to play with the CSS Team over at Stamp TV in the past, but I can now! What's even more fun is I am the FIRST [instead of last] blog you start with! [Thanks Carolina!] This is an amazing talented team of stampers and I am thrilled to get back into it!  This hop is dedicated to focusing on a sentiment.  I used the new release from GKD illustrated by Melanie Meunchinger, Border Bling.  I adore the way you can use liquid pearls on her dots, it just adds so much to the card!!
Now, keep going, you will stop at Sharri Seffens blog next, and just keep going to see more gorgeousness!
I want to thank the girls for letting me join back in -- I have been remiss~~ hopefully I will do better in participating in future hops!!
Thanks for stopping by - enjoy hopping~

Featured Stamper - Tami Mayberry

I had to play in the Featured Stamper Challenge.  Tami Mayberry is a fellow DT on my GKD Team, and I simply ADORE her CAS style.  Seems fate is telling me to stick with CAS style of cards.  We'll see.
Here is Tami's

Here is mine:
I went even CASer  - this will make a fabulous masculine card.  I pulled out my crimper for the basic background and used one of my first stamp sets from Gina K Designs My Cuppa Joe.
Sorry this is so short, we have company coming and I need to finish up some stuff and shower!  Thanks for stopping by~

Less Is More and One Layer Wednesday

I have so much fun making one layer cards!  They are just so easy, and if done correctly, they look awesome.  The One Layer Wednesday challenge was Yellow, Orange and Aqua with the Less Is More being a one layer framed image.  Well, I framed my colors and I am thrilled with this card!  I stamped the frame and the sentiment with PTI's Framed. I then took post its and framed the frame to sponge in my colors.  I pulled out my round flowers (Inkadinkado) and stamped them. This is also my first time for playing in CAS-ual Fridays - color blocking. It looks easy, but really this took me a good 1/2 hour to make!  (Well worth to me).  I sure didn't want to miss out on my favorite challenges!
Thanks for stopping by~
ps - do you Blogger people like this new system?  Wow - huge change I am still adjusting.

Stamp TV - Free For All Friday!

(go down 1 post for GKD DT Hop)

This Friday over at Stamp TV Jennie has a sketch, with trees.  I used GKD Tree Silhouettes.  I have had this set a long time and I still love it!  A classic set.  I centered the sketch on my card and flipped it. This is just a favorite layout of mine - framed on the card.  I also enjoy a simple sketch -- sometimes, less is more.  Wanna play?  Come on over to Stamp TV - there will be a random winner of a stamp set up to $24.95!  Fabulous prize!
Thanks for stopping by - have a great week end!

Gina K Designs Blog Hop - Masculine Card

(scroll down one post for Stampin B's )

Members of Gina K.'s Design Team have come together to host a hop with cards and projects featuring a masculine theme.  If you came from Tina Gilliland's blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.

Here is my sample for you:
Unfortunately, I really needed this card.  My DH's cousin was diagnosed with terminal cancer and Hospice has been called in.  My DH wanted us to send him a card, and to be honest it stumped me.  When I said how about thinking of you, DH said perfect.  I used the Elegant Elements GKD set, along with the sentiment from By the Sea.  The smaller solid dots?  Those are from a pencil eraser!  This one layer card is just perfect for my DH's cousin and I was happy to make it.
That's it for us today.  I hope you had fun and were inspired by what you saw!  Thanks for stopping by~

Stampin B's

This week over at Stampin B's is my challenge - use a border punch.  Easy peasy.  On my card I used the newly released Mark's Finest Papers Sand Surf Relax stamp set.  I adore beachy stuff. This set is just that~  My border punch is from Stampin Up.  Come on over and play with the Stampin B's!  Thanks for stopping by~

SCS - Color Challenge

For my color challenge this week over at Splitcoaststampers, I chose Old Olive, Chocolate Brown, & Vanilla.  I know, I know I have a touch of orange on my project but that's what I ended up with.  As you can see, I chose an ABC (anything but a card) project.  I have had this clipboard for a while now.  I was able to score some acrylic paint for 25 cents (!) and I had the basis for covering the ugly brown color.  [I should of taken a before photo - shoot!]  Add some designer paper, color up some flowers (Mark's Finest Papers Poppies Poppies Poppies) add a punched sentiment, and some tied on ribbons, and I have a pretty, useable clipboard!  Different take on a color challenge, but I am thrilled with my recycled project.  Come on over and play in my color challenge!  Thanks for stopping by~

Stamp TV - Mix It Up Monday

Today over at Stamp TV the MIUM challenge Cat is challenging us to use white embellies.  Well, I have never made an all white card (even though that is not the challenge) - and I wanted to try it.  I used white ribbon and twine (both are embellies) also, so I got it covered. I used my fun doily die from Cheery Lynn, along with a couple of images from the GKD Stamp Kit, Vintage Chic.  Come on over and play -- you could win the stamp set of your choice up to $24.95!!
Thanks for stopping by~

A Couple of Playing Around Cards

The One Layer Wednesday this week is Summer Holidays.  I just made a fun little card with Gina K Designs Lazy Days of Summer.  I polka dotted my sentiment, can you tell?  lol Kind of looks mis-stamped in the photograph.

This is a first for me for over at Embellish Magazine.  They had this fabulous inspiration photo

-- the colors are so me that I had to play!  Color Scheme + make your own background paper.  I stuck with my favorite dots, using Papertrey's Polka Dots basic II, along with Flower Fusion #2.  [Well, looky there I just realized they had a color swatch at the bottom -- sheez.]  I have no green, but the orange dots and bermuda bay flowers look kinda green -- I'm going with it! Challenge police can get me! LOL  I had fun making the backgrounds and this card!  Sentiment is from Gina K Designs, Inside & Out.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I sure appreciate the comments!

Make It Monday - PTI

The challenge this week over at Papertrey was Tissue Paper Technique.  I don't think I will do this again.  I am not impressed.  Maybe I did something wrong, (I did follow the directions), but I just do not like this technique.  Is that bad to say?  It's not personally directed to anyone - I just don't care for the technique.  Out of all the different techniques out there, I guess it was inevitable to find one I didn't like.  This is it.  I was going to also upload this into Paper Crafts Magazine for the Gallery Idol contest - a Congratulations card.  The grand prize is a CRUISE.  Sheez - can't hurt to try.,  Fortunately, you may upload as many cards as you want.  Needless to say, I will be uploading more. Oh yeah, I used Signature Greetings, Hello Friends and Dot Spots all from Papertrey Ink.
Thanks for stopping by~

Stamp TV - Mix It Up Monday - Texture

This is my challenge over at Stamp TV for Mix It Up Monday.  It's easy - just add texture to your card.  Most of us have embossing machines, but if not, any texture on your card works.

I used the newly released sets Timeless Textures and Elegant Elements, along with Vogue Vases, and added a Dots embossed bg with my friend Cuttlebug.
Want a chance to win a stamp set up to $24.95?  You might be the random winner.. catch is, you have to play.  Hope to see you join in -- I can't wait to see what everyone creates.

Thanks for stopping in~
