Featured Stamper- Sue
Sue has the most amazing gallery - just filled with CAS cards! I was in heaven going through her gallery. On my first card I used GKD Hopeful Hearts. I really like the off center look of an image -- I just always forget to do it! I used Mark's Finest Papers White Storm 100# paper as my cards base~ WOW I have to say that is some awesome heavy paper! The images stamp really nice and even on it also!
I made a chipboard mask with a circle (again, I will keep this for future uses) and sponged Memento Dandelion and Cantaloupe (for depth) within the mask. I also sponged the teapot using Memento New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves and Cottage Ivory, and coloring my flower with copics red.
I am also uploading these 2 cards over at the Outlawz for the CAS Sunday challenge - this week is anything goes.
Here is a photo of the masks I made over the last 2 days. Because they are made out of chipboard, they will last a long time! Just another fabulous (cheap) tool for this fun hobby!
I have a question for you all. how do you like the colored background do you think it makes the cards pop, or is it distracting to look at?
Hope you all are having a fun Sunday. Thanks for stopping by~~

Different Challenges on a Saturday
This is for the color challenge over at Stamp TV. Red, White and Black - really can't go wrong with these classic colors! I used Hopeful Hearts and the sentiment is from Block Greetings, both illustrated by Tami Mayberry. Paper is Red Hot.
This is for the One Layer Wednesday Challenge over at Jennifer's blog this week. She had a triangle sketch that was fun. However, I think I needed a longer leaf image. I will ask my expert Susan for advise on that. I tell you what that girl can balance out a crooked street! I love being able to ask fellow creators how to improve on my cards! I used the Verve images from Dream Big. I have been seeing this masking technique on cards, and I just love it! I took a 4.25 x 4.25 chipboard and cut out the rectangle (with nesties - I can not use a cutter - being a lefty the blade isn't at the correct angle), laid it on my card and sponged. I love the framing effect this gives. I will keep the template for future uses.
This card is for the JUGS Challenge 69 - Wild Card; A self made flower. I made a Fan Fold Flower Oh my let me tell you what - I SO STRUGGLED making these puppies! I would get them pushed down and it would come unstuck -- so I must have tried 5 times!! FINALLY had success - for the photo anyway. It came apart AGAIN as I went to put it in my stash! Sheez. I really think these are fun, I just wish they were easier for me to create. As far as mailing--- well, not so much, in a box maybe, with no envie :). I used Verve stamps, Heart to Heart.
And this last card is for Crazy 4 Challenges - Shabby Chic. I don't do these cards enough. They are just so stunningly girly - ya know. All the layers and BLING oh yeah - fun card to make. However, I must say, they do take time! This took me about an hour to make. I haven't spent that long creating a card in months! It was fun, and I have to say, I do like the end result. I used the sentiment from Verve One Person. Lace is from MFP, papers (aqua mist) are from PTI along with the button.
Thanks so much for stopping in -- I was very busy playing I hope you enjoyed all the eye candy! Have a great week end -- I'll be back again tomorrow!

A New Challenge Site & Verve Dare
This card is for the Verve Baby Love Diva Dare. [I used Verve stamp set Heart To Heart] I used the sketch from a new challenge site that my friend Diana linked me to. The Outlawz - they have challenges all days of the week - I like challenges so I played in the CAS challenge. I used this card, but then I decided it wasn't really a CAS card so I made this one also.
Now this is definitely CAS. Lots of space, clean look.
Look for Speedy's Challenge tomorrow - it's so totally easy - its ridiculous actually :) - Starting in February challenges are stepping up~~ Thanks for stopping in --

Friday SCS
I was so excited to play in the Friday challenge over at SCS. I can't remember the last Friday morning I had off! I went to bed thinking "warm & fuzzy" - (the challenge) and kept thinking felt. I really like felt on a card and don't think I have done that yet. This was the perfect opportunity! Good ole nesties come through again! They cut felt just like paper -- perfect! I used my new Hero Arts (love the swirl!) along with a Verve verse. Verve does have the prettiest fonts! It makes cards all that more elegant! I'm off to work though I would rather stay home and stamp~~
Thanks for stopping by -- remember, all comments ARE SO APPRECIATED :) Have a fun Friday~

Card for Katie
This card is for Jak's contest using the images donated for the Katie Fund, which I am also going to be sending to Katie. Please see Help for Katie for details. I went with just a pretty CAS card using just one of the digital downloads. For about $24.00 (US) you get a huge amount of digital images, all donated by different companies to help raise funds for Katie and her family. It is pretty amazing to me how the stamping community has just stepped up and really made an awful situation a little more tolerable for Katie and her family.

SCS Color Challenge
Betty's colors this week over at SCS was Suede, Elegant Eggplant and Riding Hood Red with the dessert of using a nestie in a different manner. (I made a frame and the sides are cut in half and used as side panels.) I made this card for my sil. You can see by the sentiment, I am late in getting this mailed out. In fact, she will probably get this posting way before the card (my postage machine broke - so HEY Janice -- you can look forward to getting this card -- eventually!) I used the set GKD set Gleefully Yours on the removable bookmark. I was so excited I FINALLY found a 12x12 BOOK of polka dotted paper [and its Bazzill paper no less - fabulous paper). Years ago when I started stamping, polka dot was the rage -- not so much now. I have always loved polka dots and this paper is won.der.ful! Anyway, that is my color challenge card & story. Early tomorrow is the Papertrey Customer Blog Hop. Look for my card -- I loved it! See ya later ~~
Edited - tag sketch is from CPS #202

VSN over at SCS - TOTAL FUN
I played in the Virtual Stamping Night (VSN) challenge over at SCS. Lee was the coordinator for this term, and she did a fabulous job! All the challenges were so fun, and dare I say easy. [I dislike hard challenges] Most of my cards were CAS (so addicted), but I got a chance to use a variety of stamps (that I had to dust off) and just had fun stamping! I thought I would share them with all of you!
So much fun stamping for fun! If you have any questions, just ask. No details today, thought I would just share. Thanks for stopping by -- hope you are having a fun week end yourselves~~

Feel free to jump on over to Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge and play! For every 50 entries, there is a FREE stamp set to the random winner!

Catching Up!
Oh I had such an awesome time with my people! My sister is my best friend, so spending time with her is the bee's knees! We shopped and shopped and shopped and also laid in the sun. Being from Washington state she is pretty darn tired of cold and rain. Being in 70+ with sun is her idea of heaven! The disadvantage of people is you really can't stamp! So, today I dropped her off at the airport I will spend the rest of my day catching up on past and future designing I need to do.
I did some new to me techniques on this card. As you all know, I CAN NOT sew a straight line however, I just love sewing on a card - I love the look. Well, out there in blogland I have been seeing HAND STITCHING. Now, I know I can pierce a straight line (I have a Tim Holtz piercing ruler thank you very much) - how hard could it be sewing with the holes already pierced and straight! Guess what - NOT HARD at all! In fact, it was a very fun, relaxing technique to do. I wouldn't want to do this on every card - it is time consuming - but what a blast and I adore the end result! You will be seeing this again you can bet on that! I also tried the Polished Stone technique. Even though I didn't have any metallic re-inker, I was very happy with this result also! I did take my gold stamp pad and run it over the top. It gave off a nice, subtle shimmer. Here is a close up of that and of my hand stitching. (so fun!)
Okay, off to do another card -
This catch up is for the color challenge over at STV. Gina messed up (oh it is so nice to know everyone messes up sometimes :)) and had 2 different choices of colors - I went with Turquoise Sea, Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn. In stead of using the newly released GKD stamps, I went back in my file and pulled out the fun stamps from Quite the Catch (lobster guy) and Gifts from the Sea (sentiment). I also used my Nestabilities Seashell die cut. Just a little card, but fun!
Thanks for stopping in. I am so excited to be creating again! :)
