Less is More Challenge & Inspiration

I have been so crazy busy trying to get all my DT cards made (you'll be seeing them soon!) that I am neglecting my blog!  Therefore,  I so missed my Less Is More challenge last week end that  I had to make a card this week.  Use different shades of blue.  I started with my pinterest inspiration (gotta LOVE the dots)
Then I found this awesome CAS sketch from Waltzingmouse Stamps (which, my card does not qualify for since sadly, I have no WM stamps)
 and finally my card

I used the newly released Gina K Designs, Whimsical Wishes.  I love this set and as I have stated before, I love the bigger sentiment!  The new Blue Raspberry was the perfect blue to add to my different shades!
Again, I want to thank Chrissie and Mandy for hostessing such a fun and awesome challenge site!

I also played in the Inspiration Challenge over at SCS.  Again, I haven't played in a challenge over there for almost 2 weeks!  I am seriously going through challenge withdrawal!  I was inspired by this
and made this - [remember,  most of the time I end up copying inspirations - my bad :))

I instantly thought of the Direct to Paper technique, along with the Mark's Finest Papers image from Tropical Vacation.  This is one of my favorite sets!  I adore the beachy feel of the palm tree.   I wish I knew how to watercolor, but I am awful at it - DIP works for me.
Thanks for stopping by~

both of these cards are wonderful Vicki. It looks like you used watercolor paper though, for your DIP technique. Love the soft look of it.
