One Layer Wednesday

I love the One Layer Wednesday challenge.  It is so easy and stress free.  This took what 5 min?  I spent more time staging the photo than actually making the card!  I love the card too!  Sweet and to the point :).  I used my new stamps from Verve, Heart to Heart.  Because the card has SO MUCH white, I put in a colored background.  I like the way it makes the card just pop!
I'll be back tomorrow with another Speedy the Cat's Challenge.  Thanks for stopping in~~

SCS Sketch

Oh the sketch was so fun I had to play.  I love making cards with a bookmark!  It makes such a wonderful card and a small gift!  As you can see I used #3 as my bookmark after I flipped the sketch.  I have a tough time not following the sketch as drawn so I used my nestie Leaf die cut, which actually worked out perfect with the sketch, and using GKD The Giving Tree stamp set.  I used my new SU embossing folder - gosh I love the pattern that makes, and I did some sponging.  Actually, a very quick and easy card!

SCS Color Challenge

This is my sample for the SCS Color Challenge - Night of Navy, Daffodil, Old Olive. Went with a layout I have seen done lately that I really liked.  I used a sneak peek from Mark's Finest Papers - Happy Pansies, to be released on January 11th.  A little early, but I like the stamps!  A couple of nesties, and the Bow Easy and this little card is complete!  Come on over to SCS and join in the fun!  Thanks for stopping by~~

PTI Blog Hop/ Favorite

Edited: PTI is running an anniversary contest - post or re-post your favorite project. I love the candle with this card -- makes such a great Hostess gift!! Thanks for re-checking this out~~
Today is the customer blog hop over at Papertrey Ink.  We were to use scraps -- I have been wanting to try the stamping on a candle technique, so I was able to use some of the left over tissue paper.
What a fun, easy ABC project to make.  This is going to make someone a great gift!!  I made a matching card using my PTI stamps, Turning a New leaf and Signature Greetings along with Butterfly Dreams with the die cut.  Just a fun little gift package.

Featured Stamper

The Featured Stamper today was Leisa.  She had a small but very nice gallery.  I CASED this card.  I need some New Year's cards and I thought this scene was so perfect.  Went to my [dusty stamps] and used Stampin Up's Inspired By Nature and the dot background is PTI Polka Dot Basics.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, and I computer generated the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping in~~

Found Stamps

While cleaning my stamp room, I literally found these stamps in a bag under the desk!  Oh my - that is scary, but on the other hand, it worked wonderfully,  I was able to make this card for the inspiration challenge over at SCS from this picture.  One layer cards are so fun and easy to make, while being so convenient to mail!  The flower stamp is Inkadinkado and the sentiment is Hero Arts!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, I did.  Thanks for stopping by~~

Stampin B's

I am such a dummy - I totally read the challenge incorrectly, and when I got a phone call asking where my card was for Stampin B's.  I rushed to get it sent and than it dawned on me - whoops - messed up this challenge.  It was suppose to use ribbon WITHOUT a bow or knot.  Well folks - it's late and I am going with what I made - be it wrong or not.  One thing about the Bee's - we are a go with the flow kinda group so hopefully Lois will forgive this silly mistake.  Meanwhile here is my project.  The last of a co-workers Secret Santa gift for Friday.  Christmas is officially done for another year..... as far as cards and gifts go anyway.
Another candle and calendar.  I have so much fun making these.  I know the calendar really comes in handy for me on a daily basis, so I hope the recipient will like it too.  I have recently gotten a Grand Calibur and the scallops you see around the candle are the GRAND scallops die cut.   This machine is a trip - it holds a 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock so you can cut TONS of dies at the same time!  I am still adjusting - I find myself going back to my friend, Cuttlebug -- I need to stop the comfort zone and go for the easy zone~~ I mean seriously - multiple dies AT ONCE!!  Very cool.  Hope to see you over at the Stampin B's~~ Thanks for stopping by~

A Couple of Stamp TV Challenges

This first card is Gina's challenge for Split Negative.  I did not emboss the image, but the look is semi the same.  I really never have had luck with this technique (could be the embossing I have bad luck with) - I used Block Greetings and I am happy with the result.  Just  a little bummed about the 4th NOT straight sewing - the first 3 are pretty good -- ha!  A sewer - not so much.  I love the look of it on cards though.

Now this second challenge is the window technique.  I really have to say I was thrilled with this brayered background.  Again, I usually have bad luck with brayering and I go back to my sponges~~~ however, I paid attention to Gina's video and SURPRISE SURPRISE when you follow the directions it works. lol  I used my standard GKD Tree Silhouettes.  I think I have used this set more than any I have purchased from GKD.

Anyway, Gina is running a 10 day countdown of the best video techniques she has made.  Everyday there is a new video and a challenge to go with it.  BIG WINNER at the end Spellbinders Nestabilities are part of the prize!!  Come on over and join in~~ who knows you might win!!
Thanks for popping in --

SCS Color Challenge

Amazingly enough, Red, White and Black have NOT been chosen as a color combo over at Splitcoast Stampers!  That really is a shock considering everyone LOVES these 3 colors together -- and I am on that list too!  Such glorious colors together, and Joanne did a fabulous job of choosing them!  I used some of my older stamps from Stampendous.  Sometimes you just need to use those stamps that are collecting dust!  Come on over and play~~ we love it when you join in!  Thanks for stopping in~

CAS Challenge 2

This is my entry for the Clean & Simple Sunday Challenge #2 over at Stamping with Brenda.  You all know I have become addicted to CAS cards.  Brenda is so nice to remind me of this challenge, so I had to play again!  Come on over and give it a shot!  She is trying to build her entries.  I know from experience it is no fun when no one plays!  I used some older Stampin Up stamps, Enjoy Every Moment.  Even though Brenda is a SU Demo, I don't think she requires SU stamps, however,  it just gives me an excuse to USE THEM!  I miss my SU stamps - lol.  Thanks for popping in~~

TLC Creations

I had ordered these affirmations from TLC Creations a few months ago.  FINALLY, I made a set with them!  I adore what these say - so positive, so encouraging!  I am not sure who I will give this to, but I love the fact I was able to get them made!  I highly suggest you check out Paulette's website - it is filled with freebies, along with a store for purchasing others.  Fun site!  The background papers are one of the sample sheets from Papertrey Ink.  I also made a card holder (in the bg - the darker purple).
I love having extra time to play with other images - and that I get to share them with all of you!  Thanks for stopping in -

Inspiration Challenge & Gift

I made this for a friend and took the colors off this inspiration from over at SCS.  I so enjoy making ABC (anything but a card) projects.  It just makes it fun what you can do with paper (and small items from Wal Mart lol).
This is what I started with for the calendar.  I found these at Wal Mart for like 80 cents!  Cheap enough for me!  The small candle was $1.00.  What a fabulous little gift and/or a great Hostess gift for the holiday parties you go to this season!  I got the calendar from Carolina' blog,   She is offering a free download.  Have fun if you make one!  Thanks for stopping in~~
stamps used:  Gina K Designs Botanical Dreams

Stamp TV Color Challenge

I started with this card -- didn't really like it, but now that I see it again - maybe I do!  I have decided I really like DOTS.... I mean really like them.  I made a 2nd attempt  with one.
And realized I used DOTS on this one too!!!  LOL.  I forgot I had used DOTS on the 1st one - hee hee - I am such a dork.  Bottom line - I have 2 samples for the color challenge.  Nothing wrong with that!  I used Mugs & Kisses for both samples.  Thanks for stopping by~

Stampin B's #89

This week at the Stampin B's Brenda challenged us to make a baby card.  The timing of this was perfect since I am a great Aunt for the 2nd time to a cute little girl named Sawyer.  Miss Sawyer arrived December 8th.  I have seen baby bassinets - 3D - around - however, since I wanted a card, I made mine flat, much easier to mail!!  We hope you join in over at the Stampin B's~~  Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge & Sympathy

I made this card for the SCS sketch, used the colors from Colour Q #63, and on a sad note, made this for my friend, Faith.  Unfortunately, this morning Faith's mom passed away.  My thoughts and prayers are with her during this sad time.
I used a combination of stamps - MFP Musical Holiday, GKD Winter Wings and SU for the sentiment.   On a lighter note, did you see my embossing folder?  Yep, I broke down and HAD to get the SU embossing folder!  I have been drawn to so many cards made with this fabulous texture - I got on the bandwagon too!  (Thanks Joanne!)  It was well worth it!  I am in love with this tool!
Okay - I am going to attack my house -- WOW is it dusty and needs a good cleaning.... my reward will be to do some shopping.....gotta love that reward~  Thanks for stopping by!

SCS Color Challenge

It's my choice for the color choice this week over at SCS.  I chose off the wall colors, but I really like the way they came together - Gray, Blue and Violet with your choice of neutral.  I didn't have a dessert - I drew a blank.  I used the newly released Gina K Designs stamp set The Giving Tree, illustrated by Theresa Momber.  Come on over to SCS and play it's fun!!  Thanks for stopping by~~

Stamp TV Sketch

This is for Gina's sketch over at Stamp TV.  I used Lovely Labels, along with the sentiment from Mugs & Kisses, and used my cuttlebug folders for some texture.  I still need more Christmas cards (!) so you will see them a couple of more times~~ than, I am done with Christmas for this year~~ well cards anyway. :)

Features Stamper - CAS

The Featured Stamper was Lisa~  fabulous gallery.  I chose this card to CASE.  Changed the images, sentiment, embossing folder.  Loved the layout, so I kept that the same!  Fun times playing with the FS challenge.  Stamps used - MFP Hello Sunshine.

This week on the CAS challenge we were to use Birgit's layout.  I ADORE this layout and have used it many times (not from Birgit) so I jumped up and made a quick card.  I just love the way the white frames the image!  Again, stamps used were MFP Hearts Hearts Hearts.

1 Layer Christmas Card

I made this one layer for ALL the other cards I needed~~ 20 additional - WOW!  I wanted an easy re-producing card.  This fit that bill really well!  I also am able to put this in a couple of challenges - SU  Challenges - CAS card and also Oldie But a Goodie - Christmas Birthday.  This card is also being sent to my friend I combined Christmas/Birthday (she so gets robbed with a birthday by Christmas~) by saying Happy Birthday inside~ hee hee - I am so bad.  The worse part about posting this is some of you will be receiving it in the mail~~ a preview :).
Thanks for stopping in - I think I am done for the day~~ C Ya
