GKD - Preview The Giving Tree

Tonight I am helping to preview Gina K Designs new stamp set, illustrated by Theresa Momber, The Giving Tree.  Now, you all know that I really enjoy doing scenery cards, however, I wanted to show you an "out of the box" use for the tree in this set! I have seen tags with flourishes and doesn't this tree sideways look awesome?  With the snowflakes falling, it is a semi scene - just a different angle! HA!  I used the colors from the Playdate Cafe and I entered these for the Verve's Project Parade.

Okay, I broke down and made a card "in the box".  LOL - I wanted to make another sample, and need to take a break from sets of cards --- I do still need more, but I will make them later.  I sponged the background, and used a little designer paper.  I adore the sentiments that come with this set!  Remember, the Release Party for Gina K Designs, over at Stamp TV, is on Thursday 7-10pm cst.  Hope to see you there!!
Here are the other DT's for tonight:

Thanks for stopping in~~  all supplies used are available over at www.ginakdesigns.com.

GKD Preview - Block Greetings & Mugs & Kisses

This new set of Gina K Designs, Block Greetings, illustrated by Tami Mayberry is really fun!  I needed another set of cards (such a perfect co-worker gift) and would you look how perfect these framed stamps work!  Oh I just love this set.  What is even more fun is they fit inside the square nestabilities - perfectly!

You can see just how great they fit inside by this close up of the box  (thanks Karen!) I made to hold the cards in. Aww such potential!!  I can't wait to make more cards with this set!!

This is Mugs & Kisses  - illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger

I seem to be on a card set kick for this preview, that's okay since I have about 6 people I give that "little something" gift to. This set of Melanie's had a bunch of tiny stamps.  Can I just tell you how fabulous it is that the stamps are PRE-CUT!!  Oh yeah - punch em out - stamp with them~~ excellent!

I am also doing another preview tomorrow night -- be sure and stop in.  There is a lot of excitement in the air over Gina K Designs' new stamp releases.  The release party is Thursday night over at Stamp TV, 7-10pm CDT time.
Here is the list of all the other DT's - (I am sure you have probably seen them since I am the last on the list- that's what happens with V as a first initial! lol)  Thanks for stopping in~~  ps all supplies used to make these cards are available at www.ginakdesigns.com.

Featured Stamper and Dirty Dozen Sketch

I had such a fabulous creative day yesterday~ 14 hours of creating!!  My mojo was running wild - LOVE IT when that happens.  Most of what I created will be over the next couple of weeks but I did get a couple done for today.
This is for the Featured Stamper - Kris.  Loved her gallery!  Naturally, I was drawn to this card - rounded corners, CAS card and I adore kraft!  I used a sneak peek image of Mark's Finest Papers new release Hello Sunshine - releasing next Tuesday, December7th.

This is a first time for me (I think) that I have played in a Dirty Dozen challenge over at SCS.  I absolutely fell in love with this sketch!  CAS but not, AND rounded corners~~[I am becoming addicted to that too!]   Again, I used Mark's Finest Paper's Hello Sunshine.  Entered in Fab N Funky - anything goes
I am off to take photos and schedule up my blog.  Since I am out of town for next week end, I have a lot to do - but, I had a fabulous start from yesterday!!  Thanks for stopping in~~

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #31

This week on Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge, I challenge you to have a ribbon on your card.  LOL - SO EASY~~  I just have to laugh - by making these challenges so easy I make work for myself!  How you ask?  Well, I feel when you host a challenge, you should comment on your players cards~~ since I am the Coordinator of SCF, I feel I need to comment on all of your uploads.  On one hand it is good because I get exposure to all of the cards - on the other hand , I probably average 2-3 hours (!) a week commenting.  Give and take I guess - we like all of you playing so I will keep commenting~~
On this card - [oh did you notice I tried a colored background! - what do you think?] I used MFP stamp set Christmas Postage Due.  I haven't used this Santa before and I really think he is quite the handsome chap, especially with this terrific sketch by Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #101.  I used liquid applique on his hat.
I hope you pop on over and play in Speedy the Cat's Blog Challenge.  Thanks for stopping in~~

Stamp TV Color Challenge

Gina's colors for her challenge today is Ocean Mist, Green Apple and White.  I had my doubts and I am not sure why!  I love these colors together -- looks very cheerful to me!  I used the GKD stamp set Sending Sunshine, which is perfect for me!  Everyone I know is in "crummy" weather (in my opinion) states and we have sunshine here in Arizona~~

I also wanted to share this with you~ Check out this awesome sale from Gina K. Designs:
Get on over to the on-line store and get your order in!  Fabulous Black Friday special!!  Hope you have fun shopping - me?  Naw - I stay away from the stores now until AFTER New Years~  Thanks for stopping in~~

Stampin B's - Holiday Card

HAPPY TURKEY DAY [if you celebrate it]~~  I am so thankful for all of you who get my posts in your email, are a follower who looks at my posts, and especially those of you who are so NICE to leave comments on my posts!  And of course, I am thankful for a DH who TOTALLY supports me in my addiction of stamping!
The challenge this week over at the Stampin B's is to make a holiday card.  I used MFP stamp set Greetings of the Season.  I also scored my background with my Scor Buddy.  I LOVE that tool and use it on every card.

I wanted to share this with you-- my little 2.5# turkey!  It is cute that I had to share it with you.  I put the Aleene's glue with it to try and get a size feeling.  I am hoping to get dinner for DH and DS and hopefully a turkey sandwich the next day - yep on white bread with cranberries!  Oh how happy I will be to get my sandwich!!  Edited to include a picture of the turkey - duh!

Thanks for taking the time from your holiday and stopping in~~

SCS Color Challenge

The colors this week are Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip.  Wonderful colors together I must say!  I used 2 different Gina K. Designs stamp sets, A Year of Flowers and Enjoy the Sunshine.  I also used my cuttlebug folders for some texture, along with the best Bow Easy!  Come on over and play in the SCS challenge - no prize- just fun!

STV Sketch

Oh I liked Gina's sketch today!  I saw this leaf idea over at SCS last week and I really liked the effect.  I am not one to think out of the box - I see it - I like it  - I make it.  I don't dream it - and create it like a lot of you out there in blogland.  Oh well.  I used GKD Pressed Flowers and Vintage Backgrounds on this card  I do know I like foliage type stamps and DOTS!  I also like Sea Mist and Black together~~  Come on over and play in Gina's Sketch Challenge over at Stamp TV- you might win a stamp set of your choice 24.95 or less!

Featured Stamper Card

Once again, I do not know the Featured Stamper, Sarah, but her gallery was filled with CAS cards.  LOL You all know I WAS IN HEAVEN going through her gallery.  I chose one of my favorite type of cards - acetate.  I finally got some more - from Ebay no less - and I wanted to use it.  I have been  really  enjoying this MFP set Brick Wall, and I really like the feather from MFP Bold & Free.
I am working on my "to be created" list so I doubt I will see you anymore today, but I will be back on Monday~~
Thanks for stopping by!

Speedy's Challenge

This week on Speedy the Ca's Challenge, Geri challenged us to use a circle.  Well, I did - in fact, I used a lot of circles!  I saw this card in blogland (I really need to remember where I saw these cards I CASE - my bad)  It was so perfect for this challenge I had to make it.  Just a fun little card.
I made a 2nd card just because I had the time, and this idea popped in to my head so I wanted to make it.  Couple of circles, and I used the adorable penguin from  A Time to Chill, along with the brick wall from Brick Wall released this month.  I really like this wall stamp - it just works so wonderfully as a background.  So, come on over and join in with Speedy's Friends.  Gosh, we make it so easy for you and for every 50 entries, there is ANOTHER random winner!  I hope to see you there~~
Thanks for stopping in~~
edited - I uploaded these for Crazy 4 Challenges too - they also want circles!

STV Color Challenge 2 Projects

I just had to make another one of these money/ gift card holder.  This one I used GKD Lipstick Red, Green Apple and White the challenge colors.  I also embossed the entire wallet so it looks like leather!  I love the effect and how real this wallet looks. The sentiment is GKD Elegant Verses. This could be for a female  (how many men do you know that like red?) unlike the first one I made here. (also for directions).  These are so fun to make, and I know the recipient is going to love it!  Feel free to jump on over to Stamp TV and play in the challenge.  You might get lucky and be the random picked winner of a stamp set valued at 24.95 or less~ your choice!

Here is another gift card holder - I have made this before but I had to show off the cute watermark that Theresa Momber made for the Design Team.  I love the little tv!  I didn't use the challenge colors, so it's just a project.  Reminder - 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 cardstock - score at 2" and 6" - close with velcro or a magnet - decorate as desired.  I used GKD Tree Silhouette, and my cardstock is Cranberry Tart.

Stampin B's - Snowflakes, snowflakes, snowflakes

Blogger didn't post this - arg!!
I have to laugh, I always feel guilty when I CASE a card from one of my "favorite" stampers-- but than when they do such AWESOME tutorials, and you end up with a beautiful card-- why feel guilty.  I still made the card I just didn't create the design of the card.   Right?  RIGHT???  - Well that's what I am sticking with anyway.  This card was made following my "mentor" Theresa Momber.  The girl has such AMAZING talent and I won't learn if I don't follow the directions.  That's why she does her step by step directions -- so we can learn!  I am just taking her up on her offer!  So, my thanks Theresa - I made snow mounds and a beautiful scenery card.  My images are from Mark's Finest Papers A Walk in the Woods stamp set.  I love this set - the trees are just to fabulous!  The little boot charm and all papers are also from MFP.  Come on over to the Stampin B's and upload your card~ we'd love to have you play.
Thanks for stopping by ~~

CAS contest, Oldies but Goodies and OLW

I entered this CAS card into the CAS contest over at SCS to be on the Monday Design Team.  Rules, you needed a CAS card, theme of a holiday (I picked New Year's) and a ribbon.  Easy enough.  I also entered this in the Oldies but Goodies challenge - use glitter.  I like this challenge site because it gives me the opportunity to use my dust-collected stamps.  This stamp is Annette Watkins from 1993!  I totaly love the font!

This card took me almost 4 hours to make!  Good grief but my mind would not see it!  I just laugh when a CAS card is so difficult.  The end result your like "Wow - that SHOULD of taken 10 min max!"  I am putting this into the OLW challenge - she threw me by having inspiration pictures of cakes.  I am happy with my end result though.
Thanks for stopping by~~

DRS & SCS Color Challenge

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR CONGRATS ON MY EXCITING NEWS~~ They meant the world to me!!

I got an offer the other week to pick out 3 stamps and design a card for D-R-S Designs Stamps.  Well, of course I had to play!  I really liked this saying - I saw it a couple of weeks ago on SCS - I love foliage type stamps and the rain just went with the saying!  That was my 3 and this is the card I created.  I enjoyed making it.  They (DRS) sent me unmounted stamps - I used some Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over (Michaels) and wala my stamps were ready to use.  There is a contest of the participants we shall see what happens.  Paper is Gina K Designs, and the beautiful lace is from Mark's Finest Papers.

This card is for the SCS Color Challenge sample.  Betty chose Baja Blue, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizazz.  I questioned these, but after my card was done, these look good together!  Dessert was to incorporate a banner on your card.  I made my banners with a square punch.  Stamps are PTI and the swirl is from Michaels.  [I threw the packaging away and I have NO IDEA who made them - oops.] I also would like you all to notice that I (!) actually did real SEWING and even got a straight line of it!!  Now that people, is a REAL MILESTONE for this girl... Yep - sewing and Vicki..not so much! I have to say it was fun -- I will try this again - maybe even around an entire card~ lol

Feel free to come on over and play - we love to see your creations.
Thanks for stopping by ~~

Stamp TV Sketch

This is for the sketch challenge over at Stamp TV.  I used the GKD Winter Wings along with a Tim Holtz swirl.  This is my second attempt for this card - the first one - wow did I mess that up!  I tried the cracked glass effect - but the bird was already mounted on the card - HA!  ALWAYS do that technique BEFORE mounting.  What a dork I can be~~ lol  I really do need to work on my coloring this bird - not so good, but I do like the overall idea...  Thanks for stopping by~
