A Couple of STV Challenges

This card is for Karen's Anything But a Card challenge.  This week we made a postage stamp holder for your purse.  I don't use stamps - I have a meter, so I made this to go as a gift with a birthday card.  (to someone who uses stamps)  I used GKD Lovely Labels illustrated by Nina Brackett.  I really love the way these work with the nesties labels!  I used flat flowers (this is for a purse remember) that I colored with copics to match my cardstock colors.  Just a fun little project.

This is for Sharri's challenge Blast from the Past - this week is the kissing technique. I used a spotted kissing stamp on the dark leaves, and a kissing flower bouquet on the light.  I just am hoping you can see it.  I really haven't seen this card posted yet - good grief. LOL.  This sketch is from Sketch Girl #15~ a fun little sketch.
Okay, challenges out of the way now to my other stuff for tomorrow~ Stampin B's, STV Sketch AND my new DT stuff for Clear Dollar Stamps.  Again, can I say it is such a good thing I have Wednesdays off!  WOW what a busy day I have~~ good thing I love it!  LOL  See ya later...

SCS Sketch 274 - Butterfly

Well, I must say that my nightly goal of sketches is working out really well.  This is my sketch challenge for SCS.  I like Rox's sketches.  Now that I have a plan I hope to play more regularly.  I used my new stamps from GKD,  Picture It.  There is such a nice array of stamps on this set!  How fun!  My dp paper is from K&C - it is 2 sided~~ such wonderful paper since both sides compliment each other.  Less stress for me to figure it out - LOL.  Thanks for stopping by~~

Color & Sketch Challenge

I am trying something different.  Trying to get challenges done at night and posted - it will give me more time for my DT stuff I need to do when I get home from work.  So, tonight I did Betty's color challenge over at SCS - bermuda bay, dark gray and so saffron with a neutral.  Seems strange but these colors ROCK!  I really enjoyed them.  My sketch is for Taylored Expressions #106.  Gotta get to sleep - thanks again for stopping by ~ I so appreciate your comments!!

CAS card decorated inside

This card was a really FAST CAS that I also decorated the inside.  I have to say it really does finish off the card nicely.  Problem is when I am done with the front... I am done!  LOL - [I really need to do this though!]  The colors came from Tina's color challenge over at STV - red, kraft & vanilla.  I adore these colors and I will use them again for sure!  So, this easy card covered 3 challenges - sketch, decorate the inside and color!!  WOW!  Don't you just love the insert feature~~ 2 photos in one - I LOVE this!!  Thanks for stopping by...

A Couple of Easter Cards

This is for Crazy 4 Challenges - a nice and easy sketch!  Thanks ladies - I had fun.  I started coloring my bunny with copics and didn't like the look, so I re-colored him with my Marvys.  I can't tell you the last time I used those!  Everyone talks copics but the good ole Marvys sure worked for me!!

This cutie is for Our Creative Corner and the sketch is by Silke.  I loved this sketch~~ it was a challenge to get the colors for Curtain Call #23 - white, kraft, light pink and black to look like I wanted.  I originally had my card base black, but it was to severe with this cute little bunny, so I changed it to white.  I am happy with the end result.  Thanks everyone for a great couple of challenges!

F/U Note:  We had a HUGE success with making some emergency money by having a garage sale ~ DH was on a roll selling....everything!  Kudos to him.  I spent all day and pm photographing items for Ebay~ came to a stand still when I realized  I have no idea what to charge for shipping.  I will go to the p.o. on Monday and get some boxes and rates.  Luckily, the money isn't an issue now so the pressure is off  "to get er done".  The money earned from Ebay will help to pay future bills.  Thank heaven for garage sales!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by~~

Life Gets in the Way

I want to start off by saying isn't it a bummer when life gets in the way of stamping?  Seriously!  I didn't forget to upload a card because........I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO STAMP FOR 2 DAYS!  (can you hear the withdrawal I am going through)  Some life stuff has come up and I HAVE to deal with it.

However, I did want you to know HOW EXCITED I am to tell you I got chosen to be a Summer Designer for Clear Dollar Stamps.  I am so excited!!  I got my stamps 3 says ago and was able to ink up a couple... I just CAN'T show you until April 1st (and yeah, that's NOT a joke- lol).  I will be entering my cards in SCS challenges (I wish knew what was coming on those) along with posting them on my blog......so, be sure to come back to check them out!!  I will also be updating my side bar with icons and a list of fellow DT's.  Unfortunately, this all takes time so keep your fingers crossed that I can get it done by Sunday.  (goals are good right?)

Meanwhile, I need to get going on this life stuff.  I am helping our friend get some emergency cash by listing a bunch of stuff on Craig's List and I have 75 (!) Barbie dolls to photograph and list on Ebay.  If you have ever listed on Ebay YOU KNOW how much time that takes!  Anyone interested in Barbie's???  LOL  Once I get all this done, I might just link it from here too.  Our friend has to get cash and move out of his house in 5 days.  The problem - no where to move!  Can't afford it - hence, the emergency selling.....So, I am off to start photographing.......  Wish me luck!!!  Thanks for stopping by....

Stampin B's #51 - Purple, Green and Yellow

Do I feel stupid or what.  I had this little post all scheduled to post ~ little did I know I FORGOT to upload the card!  I got home late from work and low and behold I got some pretty funny responses.  The best was "I liked the air" - LOL.  Well, its been fixed - hope you like the card!!

Lois' challenge this week over the Stampin B's is a color challenge  -purple, green and yellow.  I used flowers  from SU Embrace Life since they sponged so well and I added a little glitter pen to the center with my gems.  I used Flourishes Beauty in Nature and Verve Believe to finish off the card.  Oh yeah, a ms punched butterfly in designer paper.  I sure hope you join us this week.

Thursday Sketch Challenge - 3/25/10 - STVSCVD04

This is my Thursday Stamp TV sketch and my sample. I used GKD Hang In There Illustrated by Theresa Momber.[ Isn't this little raccoon really cute?]  I also used GKD Inside and Out sentiment.  I am easy on my sketches, feel free to make it your own, just keep the basic idea.  I would love for you to come on over and play in the sketch challenge!  There is  an opportunity for the random winner to win a GKD stamp set of 24.95 or less!  There are some awesome stamps!!  Thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see you over at STV!!

SCS Sketch Challenge

I enjoyed the SCS sketch today.  I was able to REALLY utilize my friend~cuttlebug~.  (ya think)  I got the color scheme from The Cat's Pajama's; black, yellow, red and olive.  I really liked these together.  I doubt I need to describe what I did since my friend did all the work!  LOL.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Color Challenge over at STV

This is for Tina's color challenge over at Stamp TV.  Her colors were green, purple and white.  I kind of pushed the limits of color - I used Bermuda Bay for green and Razzelberry for purple.  I did a first for me with Stamp TV, I cased a card from one of the stampers Sharri .  I thought her card was gorgeous!  To me, to be CASED (copy & share everything) is the ultimate compliment!  How nice that someone liked your card so well they copied it??  I love that!!
On my card I used GKD Lovely Labels (OMG they work PERFECT with nesties!!) illustrated by Nina Brackett, and Inside and Out by Gina for the sentiment.  My butterfly is Hero Arts, which I stamped in Bermuda Bay and sponged the edges.  I hope you can also see the subtle glitter pen I added on the wings.  I am quite happy with this card - thanks Sharri~ your card was wonderful to case!!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for my sketch [and sample] for STV, and also the new Stampin B's challenge.  Would love to have you play with both!!  Later..

Featured Stamper - Mutnik/ Queen for the Day - Peggy

Featured Stamper this week is Mutnik.  I chose an older card from page 8 out of 9 pages.  I like to go back and see just how the stamper has improved or stayed the same.  Cathy went from pretty cards to a crazy character theme.  There is a group of SCS friends who really get into some crazy stuff and they have a blast with each other on their comments!  Such funny write ups  and you can tell there is such a friendship with these ladies!  Anyway, Cathy also made the first pick of Queen for the Day new challenge started over at SCS by Anne Ryan.  It is in recognition for stampers who give sincere and encouraging comments to fellow stampers.  If you have ever gotten a comment from Anne Ryan, you KNOW what a genuine comment is!  Anyway you simply case a card from their gallery~ it is very similar to Featured Stamper.

This card is for Verve March 4 - last challenge for March.  I chose the Hello Kitty colors - pink, black and white.  This is also a loose case from Peggy's gallery   she was Queen of the Day #2.  Once again, Peggy is a very genuine and sincere commenter. A well deserved recognition!!  Okay Ladies - that is it for me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

STVBPSLS03 & Stamping Vacation

This card is for Denise's challenge over at Stamping Vacation - Build A Sketch.  It's is a fun challenge - Denise has a list of papers to cut and number- then, every month she gives you the numbered pieces that you use to build a sketch.  I had plans on using my sewing machine for Sharri's Blast From the Past challenge over at STV - sewing on your card.  However, I forgot and put the card together - shoot  --so I used faux stitching (you could do that too on the challenge)  I used GKD Pressed Flowers illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger on GKD paper; In The Navy and Ocean Mist, along with white.  [With my white paper, I don't like to waste my GKD Luxury white on background, or card bases - I save it strictly for coloring with copics.  I buy reams of 80# white paper from Kelly Paper company]  I put some glaze on the flowers but the photo doesn't show that very good.  That's it for me today - thanks for stopping by!

Inspire 15 - Asian Inspiration

I made this card for Gina's Inspiration Challenge based off an Asian light.  I used a stamp my friend had given me a looooong time ago by Rubber Stamped, and my sentiment is from GKD Inside and Out.  My bow is made with the help of the Bow Easy.  That is really a great investment if you are bow challenged (like me).  Okay, card 2 is done I might go for 3... we shall see.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments~  I so appreciate you taking the time!

GKD Sketch & JUGS25

This card is for GKD's sketch challenge for her new releases this month.  [Some amazing stuff!]  My card colors come from JUGS25 challenge - light brown, green, yellow and blue, and the theme, and also inspired by this adorable cake colors from SCS Inspiration challenge 224.  Spring Card is for Crazy 4 Challenges 29. I used one of GKD's new stamp sets Sending Sunshine illustrated by Theresa Momber.  As you can see, I colored with copics and popped up the flower portion of the stamp.  I used white, lemon drop, ocean mist and K&C polka dot paper.  My ribbon is from Mike's.  Thanks for stopping by -- its Saturday so I will be back with more cards.

Stampin B's #50

This week Ms. Nancy challenged us to make a green monochromatic card.  I do like monochromatic cards so it really wasn't to much of a challenge!  On my card I colored my white ribbon green with copics and also my flowers!  That is a great trick I picked up in blog land somewhere!  As you can see, I am still working on sewing a straight line ~ LOL.  My Happy Birthday is a $1 Mike's stamp and I used my new K&C designer paper.  I had fun with this challenge!  Feel free to come on over to the Stampin B's and play this week!  We would love to see your wonderful cards!  Thanks for stopping by!!

p.s.  I sure hope I didn't miss anyone last week when I commented!   If I missed you I apologize!  A special thanks to my cyber friends from STV who joined in!  That is so cool!!

Thursday Sketch Challenge - 3/18/10 - STVSCVD02

Hi everyone - well, I find that I am pretty busy on Wednesdays since I have both hosting projects due on Thursdays.  Eventually, I might get organized enough that I get them PRE-done.......or NOT. LOL.  I do better under pressure!  Anyway, I am pretty easy with my sketches!  Feel free to replace shapes, I just ask that you keep the basic layout.  As in my sketch, I used flowers instead of stars and ribbon instead of an oval.  Want to play?  Just upload your card into the gallery over at my challenge for a prize of a GKD stamp set at $24.95 or less!!  Hope to see you there!

Anything But A Card Challenge

I made this adorable box today for Karen's Anything but a Card challenge over at STV ~  it took about 2 min to put it together and maybe 15 minutes to decorate - easy peasy.  The end result is so fun!!  Karen is making multiplies for an Easter dinner to mark their seating.  Cute idea huh?  I used a $1 stamp from Mike's and popped it up with dimensionals for depth.  I went pretty basic in decorating but you could really doll this up if you wanted.  My only problem? I ATE THE CANDY BAR after I took the photo!  I can't make to many of these!!  LOL.  I based my colors off the Color Throwdown #84~ teal, black, light blue, tangerine

I bet Karen would love to see your project!  Just go to STV and upload in to the gallery!!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow with my sketch for STV and the new weekly challenge for Stampin B's!

This covers 3 challenges - TLC264 ~ make your own background paper - CAS58 ~ color challenge green, brown & white - and Tina's Color Challenge~ green.  Now we're talking!  Last week I just couldn't get it together to stamp!  I work later today so I was able to get this card done in..... 25 min!!!  WOW!  Was I happy! Using GKD Hang in There illustrated by Theresa Momber,  I sponged my frog!  I started with the yellow (using a small dauber) and then did the green (using a big dauber) - I tell you a just love sponging!!  I colored the leaves and branches with copics.  My background is stamped with forest foliage and sponged with glorious green and forest foliage in the bottom and top corner for depth.  Added my Thanks and my gems and I was finished!  Now to get ready for work.....  Thanks for stopping by!!

ABSC017, CCACT21, CIC9

Looking for STV Birthday Hop? click here

Traveling through blogland today, I came across this fabulous sketch from Annabelle Stamps.  [I start with sketches and then build my card]  My colors are for Curtain Call Color Challenge~artichoke, celery, banana and white.  I got my image almost 1 year ago (from Ragdoll @ SCS) - and actually, it fell out of her BRAK card while I was looking for something else!  It was so perfect for this sketch and isn't he a cute kitty?  Personally I love that smile!  I colored his balloons green (though the photo doesn't show that very good) so this card ALSO qualifies for Clearly I Stamp~ green on your card. Whew!  I didn't realize I had that many challenges covered!  I just love when that happens though!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by!

Verve Challenge - March 3

(If you need GKD Hop click here)

I was busy yesterday (Saturday) but I couldn't upload my cards since STV was running a Birthday Hop and I needed to keep my sketch on the top.  Since I don't know how to do that.... (if you do, please let me know for future reference thanks!)

This is for March week 3 challenge for Verve.  I used Delightful & Delicious set - I love coffee sets.. [as you might not know,] I work at Starbucks~~ so coffee and me....yep love it!  I stamped, cut out and popped-up  my cups.  Finished card is 5.5 squared.

We have a fisherman friend who is in the hospital with heart problems, so I made him this card.  This is also for Crazy 4 Challenges - a male card.  I used SU Gone Fishin (I think that's the name) stamp set.  This was one of my first sets I ever purchased...way back when.  I love using my old stuff.  I really have to force myself - [the new is just more fun!  LOL.]  I colored my images with copics.  No cuttlebugging on this one... though looking at this maybe I should have...hmmm

This card is for Taylored Expressions Sketch challenge.  I really liked the way this one turned out.  It was a fun sketch to work with.  Again, I used Verve Celebration of Thanks.
My star nesties got used again too,  [Love that set!] along with my new K&C Designer Paper.  I made a taylored bow to go with the SU punch strip.

Lastly, these card holders (and card box) was made for Karen's challenge over STV - Anything but a card.  Karen included a tutorial for making these fun little items.  Sure will work well for my mil who has arthritis!  I used GKD's Pressed Flowers, and A Year Of Flowers.  I used a glittered pen for the flower centers.  To color these flowers I used my big sponge daubers and sponged on summer sun and really rust leaving some white in the middle.
Thanks for stopping by!  And, if you left me a comment on the birthday blog THANKS alot!  Wow was that a fun day reading all the wonderful comments!!
